Since I live in south Salem, I hadnt had any experience with Keizer Veterinary Clinic until three years ago when my kid Levi got aggressive bone cancer. I was referred there because the team of doctors offered a range of professional expertise from orthopedic surgery to internal medicine to acupuncture. I needed to explore all options, and the doctors sprang to action to read up on the latest research about treatment outcomes so they could advise me on all my options for keeping my best friend with me for as long as possible. Even with amputation, dogs who get Levis kind of bone cancer are only expected to live about a year. But thanks to KVCs excellent and compassionate care, Levi is a 13-year-old tripod who has to be reminded that he really shouldnt chase his ball all day. Weve gotten more than three years of top-quality bonus time, and were still counting. Dr. Erion and his staff have taken a personal interest in Levi. I can always get an appointment, even on short notice. Theyre always willing to research treatment options or refer out when necessary, and when Levi is having an especially good week, theyre just as happy about it as I am. Its well worth the drive to Keizer, where Levi loves to see his "Uncle Chris" and the staff is always happy to see my big, old 3-legged dog come hopping in for another visit.
As a new dog owner I wanted to find a good veterinary clinic that was clean, professional, and friendly. I put out a call on social media and had this clinic recommended. They met all of my requirements. Extremely friendly staff, reasonable prices and very knowledgeable. They answered all of our questions and really cared about our new puppy. Our puppy had a bump after his shots and they were great on the phone with letting us know it was normal and probably nothing to worry about but offered an immediate appointment to us to bring him in if we wanted for our peace of mind. The bump wasnt anything to worry about and they didnt charge at all for the follow up visit. The clinic is very modern with electronic medical records. You can even log in to the system and see the records. As a new pet owner they also gave us a nice little welcome kit. I would not hesitate to recommend Keizer Veterinary Clinic to any of my friends. Im looking forward to using them for many years to come.
Wow, just wow. My pit bull/boxer mix has been suffering from a recurring skin rash/staph infection for years now. I wasnt seeing any results with my previous vet, so tried Keizer Veterinary Clinic. From the very moment I walked in the door, I felt comfortable. My dog (Mocha) has high anxiety going to the vet (as do many pets) but she also has the negative stigma that comes along with being part pit bull. The staff (especially Mandy) was AMAZING with making my dog feel at ease. Even after Mocha got a little barky, they were still so caring and didnt make either of us feel bad. Dr. Hatch came up with a plan to clear up Mochas skin rash and even came up with a plan B. Leaving the clinic, I felt "taken care of" ...which is a great feeling. Weve never had a visit go so well before. Thank you Keizer Veterinary Clinic!!!
Going full circle with Keizer Vet Clinic - I cant imagine being more satisfied anywhere else. Our first experience was with our Basset... who unfortunately had lymphoma. Hannah was so well cared for until the end. Some time later we brought in our new westie puppy Maisey. Maisey grew and had a littler of ---one; Oliver. That was an experience for everyone - for Maisey, myself and all the staff who had to deal with us fretting over Maisey and Ollie almost daily for 2 weeks. Not that we learned our lesson - Maisey had another litter two years later - also delivered at the clinic - by Dr. Folands who came in on his day off. All the pups are now thriving and in their new homes. The excellent care and compassion has been there every visit. Is it possible to look forward going to the vet? We do!
Being a dog owner all my life I have had my share of dogs and cats.....and vets. Keizer Vet has far exceeded our expectations! Dr. Girouard is our favorite, with his honest encouragement, positive outlook and genuine compassion for every pet that we bring him. But we love that the staff at KVC has such a diverse choice. Dr Foland (the quiet soft spoken one) Dr Erion (the energetic, make it happen one) and Dr Slater (the listen and calm one), not to mention the techs and office staff who bring an equal balance of what every pet owner really needs. They all carry one common goal and that is to genuinely want our pets to be as healthy and happy as we do! The Clinic is always clean, always bright, always comfortable. If we could give KVC better then "excellent" they would deserve it.
These docs are great I have been a client for many years. Just a few words years ago my wonderful dog Manu was diagnosed with Cancer & when his time came to help him pass on I called & spoke with the doc & asked that he come to my home to do this & he agreed. Unfortunately Manu passed away prior to the doc arriving but he was more than willing to accomidate my request for a house call. And when my Mimi Kitty got ill with cancer they helped get better for a few month and allowed the time to say goodbye. I was very grateful for the extra time they gave me. Compassion goes a long way with the doctors at Keizer Vet Clinic. I am proud to say I am a client. Thank you for all you guys do.
I just went to Keizer Veterinary Clinic this afternoon (3/24/14) for the very first time with my new puppy. And let me tell you… I was very PLEASED! The others that have left wonderful reviews on this place has nailed it right on the head. The entire staff is very friendly and knowledgable. I got right in after filling out some "first time" paperwork and was out in a reasonable time. My puppy and I both left very happy considering she had to get her shots… haha. :) I highly recommend this place to anyone even if you have to drive a ways to get there (I have to drive 25 minutes). It is well worth it. :)
After 5 months of care at a location in West Salem, our dog had yet to make progress on healing from an open wound. One visit and a surgery at Keizer Veterinary Clinic cost us less than the 5 months care at the other clinic. But most importantly, the entire staff was amazing. They are all true professionals, compassionate, personable and knowledgeable. This is hands down the best veterinary clinic we have been to. 1.5 weeks post surgery and our dog has no wound, and no visible scar from the surgery. We are so lucky to have found Keizer Vet!
We have been taking our four-legged friends to Keizer Vet Clinic for over 20 years, and have referred MANY of our friend there. While we live in South Salem, its worth the drive to see Dr. Erian and Dr. Girouard...or Chris and Kim (and im sure the other vets are great as well...but none of them have been bitten by one of our lovely Boxers...sorry Kim) I would highly recommend this clinic! And when it was time for our Boxer Kona to pass, Kim came to our house...it still makes me tear up every time I think of it!
