Our cat sees Dr. Sandifer. She is always good at explaining everything and patiently re-explaining when Im slow to understand or have excess questions (I tend to ask a lot of questions). While friendly, Dr. Sandifer takes a direct, serious and professional approach, which I appreciate. Shes very careful to make sure nothing is missed, but offers options when she thinks something isnt strictly required. The nursing staff is also excellent and it shows that everyone seems to really have a love for animals. Courtney even washed our cat when she had accidentally urinated on her way to the office with some lavender scented product because she wanted her to smell nice for the return trip. Im not sure our cat appreciated the high end spa treatment, but it does tell me their staff is dedicated. They always do the little bit extra for us. Dr. Sandifer will call you herself with test results and explain what they mean. My personal doctor doesnt even do that. They even loaned me a trap for a stray cat hanging around our house. We found out he was FIV infected, so it was good to get him off the street where he could have been spreading the disease. Thanks to the loaner trap, hes now living in a nice indoor home with another family. These little things that dont make them any money make a really big impression on me that they are serious about the welfare of animals. The office is always clean, welcoming and the outside garden looks well cared for. The office has a home like feel, but still with a professional atmosphere. Theyre not very high tech when it comes to scheduling and other record keeping. In some ways its nice to have an old-fashioned and personal experience, but I would appreciate having reminders sent by email along with a list of the scheduled procedures. Id even appreciate a written cost estimate so I could budget, but maybe Im asking for too much. Im not sure any vet in town is that tech savvy and organized. While I have not price shopped and I dont think they are a bargain clinic, however the prices seem reasonable. Im going to guess you could find someone cheaper if youre willing to travel to a rural vet, but we find it better to have someone close by, especially as our cat is heading into her senior years. I highly recommend them.

For nearly twelve years our Chinook has immensely disliked going to the vet. Every time we approached a vet clinic, our dog would refuse to leave the car and, once inside the clinic, her legs would shake like a pair of tuning forks until we were back at home. As her hips begin to become more of a challenge, I looked to find a new vet that we could take her to that wouldnt have her freaking and collapsing under her own shaky-weight. Oswego Veterinary Hospital was an exceptional experience. From the moment we arrived, our dog smelled the flowers in front and made her way up the ramp to the front door. Only when she got to the door mat did she start to understand what was going on but by then we were already greeted by some of the sweetest and most kind lab techs. They helped the dog get into the office and then handed us over to a vet in training who took paperwork and vitals. Our dog was definitely shaking but didnt appear to want to bolt out of the room at the first sign of light. When the vet arrived, our dog wasnt the most mannered of patients, but the doctor examined her closely, carefully and with questions that made it obvious she cared about our dog and her comfort. In the end, we left the clinic on a positive but something took place at the front door that hasnt happened in 12 years of going to the vet, my dog actually wanted to go back inside! She liked getting treats and definitely wanted *just one more*. I happily obliged as it was amazing to see our dog not completely devastated by a trip to the doctor. We have a follow up in two weeks and Im looking forward to seeing how she responds. My only regret is not finding Oswego Veterinary Hospital when we first moved to the area. Could have saved us a tremendous amount of trembling.

We have been taking all of our cats and one dog to Oswego Vet Hospital since 1992 and have ALWAYS received the most outstanding treatment and care of our animals. We recently boarded Chesty and Taz for 16 days as we had sold our home in Happy Valley, Or and didnt want to stress them out when the movers were there to take our entire household goods to our new home in Nampa, Idaho. When I picked them up, they werent ready to leave a place that gave them so much love & attention to ride in their kennels for 6.5 hrs to their new home in Nampa. Taz was really underweight from an unknown (to us)gastrointestinal issue and Dr. Duggan did everything she could to get Taz to eat new food. Im happy to report the Taz has now lost her "girlish figure" and has gained at least another pound since she came to her new home with us. I will miss all of you terribly but will stop by when Im in town which will be often due to family being in the area still. Oswego Veterinary Hospital & all of their staff are absolutely AMAZING!!! FANTASTIC and FABULOUS!!! Catherine C. Albrecht Nampa, Idaho 83686

I have a blue and gold macaw, who I have always had friends and/or family care for in the event that I needed to be gone. I recently needed to board him and Oswego Vet was able to take him in for the night. My experience with them was better than I had every had with my own vet. The staff was very welcoming and they did everything that they could to make my beloved macaw feel at home. They tolerated the countless phone calls that I made to relieve my anxiety at having "strangers" care for him. They turned on music for him, they socialized with him and they enjoyed him. As a pet owner, it is truly important to me that my pets be cared for in a similar manner as i would care for them. When I went in to pick up my bird, he was playing with the staff and he was very calm. Past experience at the vets office would leave my bird extremely anxious and slightly aggressive. The experience that we had with Oswego Vet was incredible and i would recommend them to any body who ever needed the peace of mind knowing that compassionate people would be caring for their pets.

We had been bringing our cocker spaniel, Bella, to see Dr. Standifer for several years after a negative experience with our former veterinary clinic. I can honestly say that Bella no longer hated going to the vet. She loves Dr. Standifer, Courtney the technician and especially Eve, the groomer. We lost Bella a few months ago and everyone there showed us so much compassion during her final days. We now take our new puppy, DOrsay, to OVH. As a pet parent, I appreciate the way Dr. Standifer explains things in laymans terms and follows up when she says she will. We always get a phone call after a procedure or new prescription to ensure that there are no issues. I dont even get that kind of attention from my own physician! They are cognizant of our pets individual needs and make every effort to accommodate them. As a result, I completely trust the staff at Oswego Veterinary Hospital to recommend and provide appropriate treatment whenever it is required.
