Dont ever do business with this clinic. In 2008 I rescued two cats from them and less than a year later, when one of them was on his death bed I called to ask if they could help out and save his life! I told them I had already spent $1,700 at Dove Lewis and they agreed they could help. I quickly brought my cat to them and they said they would need to keep him for a week. I informed them I only had about $300 on a credit card and $200 available in cash to spend on him or I would have to consider putting him down, my heart was broken but as a pet owner I know I have to set limits on the financial strain. Dr Scott said she would "take care of it". When I got the bill it was over $1,100 dollars ($562 of that was labor alone!) I paid only $500 as agreed and she recommended that I put the cat on special (and expensive) food that I could only get from her. This cost me an addtional $40/month to purchase. Once I paid I didnt hear from them again until early 2011 when they had sent the rest of the bill to collections. They lied and said they had a contract (they presented one for another cat I owned to the court system, not the cat they serviced), they hired a shady collection agent and currently claim I owe them $947 in late fees and collection fees. I love my cat, but I would have put him to rest had I known this was going to happen. They took advantage of my stressful situation and they employed unethical tactics in using a false document to make a claim. In addition I will add I took this animal to another vet and he found that the ingredients in the food she prescribed was what was actually causing my cat to have urinary problems, as if she were making him have these problems so she could keep fixing them. My poor kitty suffered so much. I warn you not to take your animals here because they will receive poor care and you could be subjected to a false small claims court charge based on the contract you sign when bringing in your pet OR any pet you have after the original paperwork is signed. WATCH OUT! I will also add that after spending $900 on my other cats skin condition, which absolutely puzzled Dr. Scott after six months of treatments, medications and tests, turned out to be an allergy to fleas. Again, another vet had to diagnose this and it only cost me $100. I hope no one else is subjected to this shady business, especially not any four legged ones!

I have been a customer there for a couple of years and have taken two of my dogs there for exams and the basics. I now have a male kitten who appears to have a UTI. After a little research the net says that a UTI can kill a cat if not treated quickly. Realizing that it is a few days until payday (tuesday-friday) and I just had a few other expenses that were unexpected, I am broke until Friday. So I called my Vets office to ask if I could bring him up and have him treated and give a post dated check for Friday since I am a patient there. They quickly stated NO. I could see it if I was some random unheard of patient from out of town, but Im a patient that lives down the street. For a place to act like they care so much about the health of all animals, it sure seems that they first care about money before anything else. So I then called my old Vets office that is a little home town office and they said "NO PROBLEM, we just need to treat him right away" ! That is the Vets office that has once again earned my business and will keep it! Big fancy places that talk the talk are big and fancy because of the money they overcharge but they can never walk the walk. Im sticking to the small places ! If you go there use caution, they try to sell everyone all kinds of meds and herbal stuff that your animals dont need!

We have been taking our cat to Overlook for almost 4 years for his annual exams and vaccinations. I felt like they cared about him, but we rarely brought him in except on those occasions. Over the past 1 - 2 years, there had been a population explosion of stray cats in our neighborhood and our cat has been getting in fights with all of the other cats around. He has had to go in a couple of times for abscessed wounds from fighting and once for a cyst. The staff at Overlook seems completely unorganized to the point that the last time we took him there, they FORGOT to give us his medicine when we picked him up after his wound had to be surgically opened! It isnt just this, but when I brought him in that day, they thought he was coming in for vaccinations although I told them when I made the appointment what was wrong with him. On the day of his checkup, again they tried to give him vaccinations although he was only supposed to be coming in for his post-surgical checkup. When we take him in, I feel like they are just trying to do whatever will raise the bill, which doesnt make me feel like they have our pets or our best interest in mind. We are switching vets so that we no longer feel like our cat is just money to them.

Dr. Scott and her staff have always been wonderful with our cats. You can truly see that their staff care for the animals they work with. Dr. Scott even went out of her way to offer to take the blood pressure of our Siamese at our house since she is easily stressed and it is hard to get an accurate reading at the clinic. She helped us diagnose some problems we couldnt figure out, and knows when to refer our to a specialist or to Dove Lewis. I appreciate when a doctor is willing to say "I dont know" or "We should check with this other expert". Thank you to Dr. Scott and her staff for the hard work they do. Oh, and if you think Overlook is overpriced, shop around and youll find out that they are fairly reasonable, especially not being a "chain" animal clinic.

I have great service most of the years that I have been coming here. There are on occasions that people can get frustrated and scared and not here everything someone is saying, however, the staff at Overlook Veterinary Hospital has been a great help. I have had some not so good times here too, It happens. However, they can only treat what you tell them. Just like your regular doctor. And waiting to long to bring them in doesnt help either. Then there is a major host of symptoms that cannot be explained until they are doing blood work and everything else under the sun. Wellness check ups save you a lot of money and time and heartache.

I appreciate this place so much. I originally picked it due to its convenient location for me. Ill be moving to another neighborhood soon and plan on making the 30+ minute drive just to keep them as my vet. Dr. Scott was patient and informative when my female cat was having bladder issues. I was clearly stressed but Dr. Scott and her team helped me stay calm and collected. She recommended a prescription diet and adding a drinking fountain to promote drinking fluids. It worked! Years later, my cat has been doing great. Love them!
