I am a nurse practitioner, so I have a good understanding of how the healthcare system works and how I should be treated as a patient. Dr. Parish (senior) had an incredibly poor bedside manner. I waited 45 minutes to be seen despite being the only patient in the room. He violated HIPPA by discussing another patient in front of me and identified that patient by name. He did not take a complete history of my condition, so he did not have all the information needed to make a correct diagnosis. He diagnosed me incorrectly and did not follow widely accepted guidelines for treatment. I saw another dermatologist later who correctly diagnosed me and solved my condition with the correct treatment. I do not recommend Dr. Parish because of his poor bedside manner and rude treatment towards me as a patient and as a person which lead to clinical incompetence.

Dr Lawrence Parish made me wait at least 30 minutes in the exam room before being seen. He did not introduce himself, shake my hand, or even check that he had the correct patient. He took a phone call during the appointment, and was on the phone for 10 minutes discussing textbooks and making dinner plans for his family. He did not apologize at the end of his conversation. He did not spend adequate time listening to my history or assessing my condition. He essentially blew off my problem entirely. Then he prescribed me a very pricey body wash. And the expensive body wash didnt even resolve my condition. If you want someone who is polite and listens to your concerns, I wouldnt recommend Parish.
I have been with Dr. Jennifer Parish for over 15 years and she is absolutely the best! She came highly recommended to me from two different people and Ive never gone to anyone else. She is to the point and honest about how you would look with specific cosmetic procedures. She really is terrific!
