My dog has been a patient of this vet since 2012. Everything had always been fine and dandy, until recently. A couple of months ago, I took my dog in to get his glands done, which I do more regularly then most people, and asked for a new box of flea medication BECUASE we had ran out. We usually use parastar but were given a new one- called vectra. We were told it was great. That day, my dog began to have shortness of breathe and uncontrollable muscle spasms. We called the vet, they recommended I go in. As I am in the waiting room, I looked up reviews of the medication, and it is said to be the worst medication on the market, resulting in permanent muscle damage and death. Dr.Cruz saw us, hooked him up to an IV, recommended we wash him and sent us on our way with several medications after paying the bill. We washed him with his regular dog soap. Nothing worked and the symptoms just became worse. We called again and they sent us to the emergency room. Long story short and $200 later, we were advised to not only wash our dog, but to wash him with DAWN soap. I paid $200 to be told to use DAWN SOAP!! Original dawn soap, is the first soap of choice recommended by MOST vets because it is the best to take of the oily flea medication off of any dogs skin.That was months ago. More recently, I took my dog to get his booster and rabies shot which was prepared by what i believe to be students. My dog began to have uncontrollable muscle spasms. I called the vet and the phone call was answered by one of the young girls in the front. I told her what was going on and guess what.... I was advised to take him to the emergency room. Seems like instead of giving me recommendations of any sort or allowing me to talk to the dr, they want to send me to the ER. I, not entirely thrilled, told the girl that lately every time I go and have something done to my dog, he has a reaction, and were sent to the ER. Because of this, I received a letter saying I have been expelled. Never in my life, have I seen a letter like this. Nor, have I seen a business that expels you for giving some feed back or concern. If this was a real business, youd have the decency to make thing rights and atleast talk to me to see whats wrong and have good costumer service. After all, my dog is a patient of 4 years, I have several family members who also take their pets here, and I have 2 friends who take their pets here from MY recommendations. It is completely ridiculous to receive a letter in the mail as such, signed by Gomara himself. WHOM I didnt even talk to on the phone. Your staff is ridiculous. Because of your ridiculous staff and your impeccable business skills, you are receiving such a review on as many sites I can find online. Mind you, I had an issue with his staff member ( no words exchanged) and no actual problems with doctor himself, yet he made the decision to kick us out and sign the letter! Stay clear from this joke of a place. You would think I threatened to sue them when in actuality I was just showing some concern for my DOG! Acabo de llevar a mi nena por una diarrea desde ayer, al centro de la 27 ave y 18 calle, Coral Gables. Ella es paciente del Dr Gomara en la 40, realmemte me gusta mas alli en la 40. Aunque aquí la dra muy amable, pero Gomara es Súper cariñoso con ella. Pague, $134 dls le pusieron suero, dos inyecciones, un antibiótico y otra para el estómago, le hicieron su coprologico, a ver si había parásitos pero no, gracias a Dios. Es su problema de estómago delicado. Me dieron la medicina para administrale en casa por 7 dias y 7 latas de la comida dieta blanda. El personal muy amable. Por cierto, ahi mismo hay un grooming full service $30 dls. Me pareció curioso. El parking esta atrás de la clínica y es muy estrecho, se ve al entrar q varios carros se han rayado contra las paredes.

All doctors are amazing the staff is incredible. Dr Garcia has been my dogs Vet for years and been so caring. She and her staff are caring and gentle. But also caring of pet owners feelings and understanding. Whether at this clinic or the one at bird road the doctors and staff worry about your pet because the know they are part of your family. Their prices arent crazy. Thank you all for always caring and saved my friends dogs life twice. Thank you

Ive known Dr. Gomara for over 15 years. He is the best vet in South Florida and even in Peru! He has the heart and honesty to tell you upfront what your pet has without having you spend ridiculous money just for the sake. He also has the heart to help people in need and those people who help strays and dont have the budget... he will help! He is a decent, with a great soul and best skills and experience as a vet. I love Dr. Gomara!

My shih-tzu was having terrible diarrhea and vomiting and it was hard to find a vet to see her with Hurricane Matthew on its way. I was so happy they were able to squeeze her in last minute and the treatment worked like a charm. The doctor and staff were caring and knowledgeable and my baby is all better thanks to them. Amazingly it did not cost me an arm and a leg, prices were more than reasonable. This is my new vet!

Gomara animal clinic is a 5 star veterinary practice. The staff is knowledgable, courteous and extremely accommodating. Dr. Gomara is a genuine doctor who loves what he does and it shows in his treatment of your pet as well in his treatment of the owners. He takes his time to explain and answer all of your questions.
