Dr. Tarelton is an amazing vet. I rue the day that he retires. I took Samson to Petco for a general check up and to ask about the red flaky skin that was happening all over his body and the fowl odor in his ears. They sold me 2 medications for his ears and told me I needed to use medicated dog shampoo for his skin it ended up costing me over $300. Then a friend recommended Dr. Tarelton. He immediately recognized that my pups had allergies and gave him a shot and put a little cream in his hears. Within a few hours he had stopped scratching and within 2 days his skin was all cleared up and his ears cleared up just as quick. Dr. Tarelton even went so far as to recommend an at home method for keeping Sam from getting stinky ear no medication necessary. This saved us so much money I cant even explain it. My pups couldnt even ask for a better vet. Thank you Dr. Tarelton for your care and commitment.

Dr. T took great care of my Neo Mastiff. My baby boy got the dreaded cherry eye and I took him to several doctors and they wanted from $700 - $2500 to fix his eye. Ok so with that price range I felt like wow this is really going to hurt the pocket book but I have to get my buddies eye fixed. I told myself one more call and then im done. The call I made was to Dr. Ts office. I got his information from a dog goomer and all he could say was what a wonderful Vet he was. So I took my Neo in and Dr. T charged me and this is no joke, $73.00 dollars for his eye surgery and that included his antibiotics. I almost cried when he told me the price. Smokey my mastiff recovered fine and I will never take him to another Vet again, Dr. T truly loves caring for animals and what people are writing about him is 100% acccurate. Thanks Dr. T for being a great Vet!!!!!!

Doctor T has been so nice. Whe I adopted my Kitten she was sick and he saw her and got her on the meds to make her better. She has allergies really bad and he took care of her & can afford her meds. My Male is big and he has been great with him and he fixed him. Took him to another Vet for a teeth cleaning & he had 3 teeth pulled, they did not give him pain meds or other meds. Talked to Doctor T and he got my boy his meds. He is a good man and loves the animals he treats. That is worth More to me than $$$! He does affordable shots also for those of us who do not have 75-150 an animal for the yearly shots, same shots too-Confused why the others are so much higher? LOVE HIM!

Dr Tarlton is our vet from now on. What a great experience! Very knowledgeable, affordable & personable. I had tried other vets in town (even one within walking distance of this one), but keep feeling like I was getting the run around. Estimates for tests, procedures and meds that were darn expensive and seemed almost unnecessary. Im not a vet however. Its hard to know whats essential vs. just running up the bill to pay for new equipment they bought. Austin Ave. Animal Hospital is exactly what I needed. Dr. T cut right thru the BS other vets were telling me. His office staff is his family and they are so warm and genuine. Just a great country vet.

Pleasantly surprised. Nowadays Ive become accustomed to being bent over a barrel when taking two dogs to the vet annually for shots, check ups, heart and flea meds, etc... Not here! Dr Tarleton is awesome! And EXTREMELY AFFORDABLE! Five stars! Oh, and by the way, my border collie pup split his paw open so I took him in to make sure theres no infection or stitches needed. He was good to go and Doc didnt even charge me for his time since he said "he didnt have to do anything really". I wish this was the first vet I went to when I moved to the Austin area. Great staff as well, thanks for all you do for my two "kids"!

Just wanted to say a few words about my experience with Dr. Tarlton. My vet passed away and was looking for another vet. Not only did I find another vet, but I feel I found gold. Dr. Tarlton is so caring and compassionate, I cant believe there are Vets like him still around. He is definately old school. I just wanted to say thank you for helping me with my very delicate situation with my little dog. You went way beyond any Dr. would have done. I will be bringing my other dogs to him and his staff to take care of their needs. May God Bless you, your staff, and your business.

Just to let anyone know. If you have a pet or farm animal you should go to this Vet. He is the kindest, smartest, most knowledgeable, vet Ive come across. They are great Christian people who are more interested in helping others than racking up your vet bills. I went through 16 different vets in Brownwood and here in the Austin area. And this vet is the best and most affordable vet there is. Half the cost and twice the care. If you need to set up an appointment you should probably stop by their building. They have so many clients that their phones are always ringing and busy.

ABSOLUTELY. BY FAR THE BEST VETERINARIAN in the Country. Dr. Tarleton goes above and beyond any Ive ever known. Hes treated all my pets and my rescues,when I rescued, for decades. There is NO OTHER VET I TRUST LIKE I TRUST HIM. It is so obvious that he does what he does from the heart and love for animals. He doesnt try to scam you out of money for unnecessary treatment or products. In fact, he goes out if his way to cut your cost, while giving the utmost best for your pet. Hes just SIMPLY AWESOME! God Bless Him! There is a special place in heaven for people like him.

Dr. Tarlton, Charlie, and his wife run a small but incredibly friendly Vet Hosipital. He is a down to earth honest man who really seems to love pets. The prices are inexpensive compared to most of the fluff you get at other vets. Consider that your pet really doesnt care how nice of a building he/she is going to. With his prices, folks should be able to keep up with their pets vaccinations on time. Thanks Dr. Tarlton for being one of the Good guys!

A wonderfully selfless vet, you almost have to make him take your money. Other clinics in comparison are completely money grubbing and care nothing for the animals. My beagles hip broke, and unfortunately Dr. Tarleton was away so I had to take her elsewhere. A procedure that I later found out he would have charged under the $300s, cost me over $1000. Needless to say, this is the place to take your animals for experienced and considerate care.

I love Dr Tarleton! I have taken both of my dogs to him for various reasons and every time the charges are very reasonable. He is caring but no nonsense and straight to the point. My only complaint would be that I cant ever get anyone on the phone; its always busy. Im sure its because the clinic is always busy. :) I absolutely recommend this clinic to anyone looking for care for their pets!
