We had used VCA Preston Park on Preston Road in Plano, Texas for several years for our dogs and cats. We had only had one issue, which was our pets getting burned by hot clippers when they were groomed. This happened multiple times until we really complained. Then, it stopped. This is another story. A horror story for any pet owner. We recently had our little poodle, Bentley, operated on at this clinic. He had to stay over a Friday night after the operation for observation. I received a call from the Doctor (Dr. Wages) on Saturday morning telling me that we could come down and pick up Bentley. He said that everything went fine. My wife and I arrived at the clinic, told the receptionist we were there to pick up Bentley, and had a seat to wait. Momentarily, a technician by the name of James, who I had met at the pre-op appointment, came out to greet us. James said: "Did the Doctor call you?" I said: "Yes." James said" "So you know Bentley is gone?" My wife and I are in total shock! Our Bentley is dead! Our stomachs are in knots! I said: "What happened? The Doctor said everything went OK!" James said: "Oh, it did. Bentley is at my house. I took him home because he is so cute." We say: "So, hes OK then?????????????" James said: "Yes, hes OK."....with a big smile on his face. "Ill bring him out." My wife and I basically collapse onto the seats from the shear shock of being told that our pet was dead and then being the brunt of a joke that was extremely cruel and insensitive. After I collect myself, I get up and tell James that his joke was uncalled for and extremely insensitive, that he made us believe that our pet was dead! James says: "Oh, Im sorry. I was just joking." And, then one of the people behind the counter chimes in to add that "James is a big joker." As any pet lover would understand, it took my wife and I hours to get over what had been said to us! Doctor Wages called me at home later in the day to "see how Bentley was" and also to understand what had happened with James in the reception area that morning. I told him exactly what happened, he said he had heard about the incident, and his comment was: "Weve talked to James about what happened. James is a good technician." Im thinking.....Im glad James is a good technician, but he is also an insensitive person! Thats my story with this clinic. I cannot go back there. All of our animals are in the process of being moved to another Vet. Interestingly, when we asked for our pets records, and told the receptionist why we were changing Vets...one person behind the desk said: "Oh, I never heard about that. Im sorry." Another person behind the desk said: "I was here when it happened." Then, they wanted a number that the Doctor could call me at the next day. I assume that he wanted to understand why we were changing Vets and see if he could save us. We gave them our home number and said that the afternoon would be a good time to call me. He never called......
This place will cheat you out of your money and lie to you Then they charge your credit card without your permission or consent When you try to call them I will not call you back Horrible horrible horrible place How can the vet / doctor allow His employees to do this They completely robbed us !!! They quoted one fee then change that drastically !! They told me I was signing a credit card slip for $43 I was not aware that I signed a bill for over $700 We called immediately the same day they would not take our calls or respond never returned our calls ,emails ,fax or text they have no problem texting you or emailing you confirmation of your pets appointment but when you reply they do not return any of the responses when they purposely overcharge you
I took my cat and dog here for the first time last week and I was so pleased at how kind and attentive the employees were at the front desk as well as the vet techs who took care of my pets during our visit. They also happen to be located right up the street from my apartment so the convenience factor was a plus too! They did not seem to be over booked and I hardly had to wait at all to be called in by the vet techs. Very clean and well organized facility that made my animals feel safe and put a smile on my face. I highly recommend you bring your animals here if you want them to be treated right and feel comfortable during their vet visit!

Vca Watch out they lie and steal your money They told me that we were charging $43 on a credit card I left the bill was over $700 we left for voicemails and sent emails and text messages and they would not return our calls No explanation whatsoever! Then they kept charging her credit card monthly without our permission and we kept emailing and texting and calling and They would not reply or take our calls ! We called today and spoke to the manager Bridget and she hung up on us. Watch out for Bridget and this company. They only care about the money not the animals
Weve seen better, even among other VCA clinics. A routine exam consisted of the vet acting completely disinterested in our dog, and just feeling him all over. It hardly qualified as an exam. He seemed more interested in trying to sell us everything under the sun, than our dogs health. We also arrived during greyhound clinic, as that was when our appointment was scheduled. Although I admire the work they do for the rescued greyhounds, we were seen way past our appointment time as the greyhounds took precedence. We wont be going back and I highly recommend another clinic.
My cat was recently diagnosed with fatty liver disease and had to have a feeding tube inserted. Dr. Murray could not be a more caring and thoughtful vet. She has been so kind to me and understanding of my incessant question asking. She even took the time to call me personally on her day off to make sure we were both doing OK. It isnt often you find a person so dedicated to their craft. While my cat isnt out of the woods yet, I feel very confident she is in great hands.
We have been using this facility for over 5 years and up until our most recent experience we have been very happy. It seems their is a new doctor that has been seeing our dog. He lacks any bedside manner and talks out of both sides of his mouth. We should expect honest answers when it comes to our dogs medical condition. We will not be returning to this facility. If you use this facility hope you get one of the more senior vets to take care of your pets.

Caring vets. No need to worry who is on duty. They are all personable and highly qualified. Their costs are in line with other vets and not overly exorbitant. They work to do what is right for you and your pet and dont push unnecessary treatments. I have tried other vets in the area and it took me a while to find this one - none of the others were half as good.
