Long story short, there was a lack of communication with the patients as well as amongst the staff. Personally, I felt the staff was unorganized. While in the chair, there was way too long of a waiting period to be seen by the actual dentist( and hygienist). FULL STORY This was the second time I had to reschedule an appointment with Monarch. Almost 2 months ago, I schedule an appointment as a new patient and at the same time set up an appointment to see the orthodontist for possible braces. During my first appointment, they took the necessary x-rays and assessment of my teeth. I was informed of needing fillings, my cleaning, and removal of my wisdom teeth. On a POSITIVE note, they were able to do the cleaning and filling that same day, which I was not originally scheduled for. As a full time student and worker, this was awesome for me to get everything knocked out at one time. I then set up an appointment to have my wisdom teeth removed and was on my way. The NEGATIVE portion of my experience was when I arrived for my orthodontist appointment. This was just to see if I needed braces or a retainer. I walked in, signed in, and took a seat. When I was called, I was told that I did not have an appointment that day but on a different date. I found that odd for I had entered the appointment information during the previous visit while standing in the same spot. I had to take off from work to be there but ended up going in to work anyway. I get a call the next day stating that I missed my appointment from the previous day and asking I would like to reschedule. Yes, I was furious but the lady I spoke with informed me that one side of the counter was for the orthodontist while the other was for the regular dentist office. No, there was no signs or any directions of this when I walked in. So I rescheduled, made the appointment when it came around, got my estimated costs for braces and was one my way. The last NEGATIVE experience is when I showed up to have my wisdom teeth removed. Never have I had any surgical procedures before. I took a relative to have their wisdom teeth removed but I didnt ask much about the procedure or the process. Due to that, I assumed it would be a good idea to have someone drive me just in case. Upon arrival I was asked when was the last time I had something to eat/drink. I had a drink in my hand that I JUST purchases before arriving and only had a few sips, but nothing to eat for I had a very busy morning. At this time, was it then explained to me that I was not supposed to have consumed any food/liquids (including water) at least 8 hours prior and needed a driver with me. What pushed my over the edge is over hearing that I was not the only patient who they had failed to inform of this information prior to the appointment date. They tried to reschedule me and all dates were of inconvenience for me as a senior in their last semester of college. Once again I had to contact my place of work that I need to reschedule my off days for this procedure. It wasnt brought to my attention until rescheduling with a different establishment that they never gave me a quote for the procedure either. This was my first time taking advantage of my dental insurance as an adult so I may have been lacking knowledge on what questions to ask but I assume it would be similar to any other medical establishment where the patients were informed of what to expect when the appointment is scheduled plus a reminder the night or maybe a day or so before the actual appointment. Now Im well aware to get all information up front while scheduling an appointment for anything.

I have been trying to get my teeth done and with more pain now- then i had in the start - I went in to check on tooth and i got a implant and build up on one-- along with a root canal build up on another tooth, none of which i complained about in the beggining. However i am in alot of pain after trying to get this taken care of now for awile to say the least-which I thought was a simple root canal and was not . In this one tooth I have so much pain in , the crown is not being done correctly, even according to them, and I do not know why i am having this much pain , after so long it has been going on- the rotor file was broken off in my tooth and they cannot remove it , i do not know if this is it , if the build up that was done by the helper not the dentist is the problem, - the crown that was done or was trying to be done several weeks or should i say months to be done, being kind if you cannot do the job, matters only along with the doing of the job correctly-- all the kindnest does not get you out of pain, I am still waiting on my implant to be finshed and i am very scared I will be in trouble with that too -based on the problems and the pain i am having now! What can I do who can I get to fix this < I have already paid over $5000 to $6000 and with no relief in sight, because I lost hope by the third or fourth time of trying to do the crown right-- now it is shoved up( again) all the way into my gums where the crack of the gum in your ,mouth- is it is not even suppose to go up that high- digging into my mouth, they know this and in making it over - they do not remember this i guess-- because they made it again the third time and it is even browner then the other one and this time -not the other time -they had me sign off on the tooth itself-- , however i said it was more brown then before and it hurts and it is shoving again up into my gums over lapping the gum up to top end seam of inside my mouth . I am at my last plead on this and to be without this pain! I can not afford paying more money to fix it , I should have gone to a private dentist , they are good- but this insurance ( Dental Plans of America for Medicare) would not allow it - Oh - I get it now -we are old- so who need teeths- for very long -and we hurt, so what is one more, pain - Buyer - Be Ware!

On my appt 3/1/2013, I was scheduled to have three fillings. My appointment was at 3pm, in which I was in the chair by 3:30ish. The Dr. begin to numb my mouth with three seperate injections into my jaw, he waitied roughly ten minutes or so and began work on my first filling, after he successfully drilled a hole in my tooth, the Dr and his assistant disappeared for almost 2 hours, I became rigid and upset because I could feel my jaw coming back to life, which meant the meds were starting to wear off....I also saw the duo working between at least 4 other patients during this timeframe. As you can guess when the Dr decided to return to my chair..AFTER all of the patients in the entire office were taken care of and had gone home...he begin to drill on my second tooh and it shot so much pain up my jaw I jumped up...he then told me I needed another injection, which was NOT going to happen, because I wasnt going to pay for naother injection when the first wore off awaiting services from the Dr and I had already been there for 3 hours! Completely unconcerned the Dr stated "you will have to come back and get that one done"...no apology or anything. Needless to say as he completed working on the other two teeth, my mouth was no longer numb and the pain so was unbearable I begin to cry...still no words of sympathy from the Dr. when he was finished he kept pressuring me to make another appointment for the tooth he didnt complete work on because he drilled on it a bit and was "cocnerned"...I talked to the manager who told me she would "voice my concerns" with the Dr. I got my X-rays printed and ran outta there as fast as I could. I will NEVER RETURN TO A MONARCH DENTAL AND WILL MAKE AS MANY FORMAL COMPLAINTS TO CORPORATE AS WELL AS AETNA!
