I was hesitant about going to see Dr. Santilli because she was clearly young and this was a brand new practice. I chose her office because I was looking for someone who had state of the art technology and believe strongly in supporting local businesses. Dr. Santilli and her staff have proven to be excellent technicians in the dentistry field as well as top a notch business provider. Dr. Santilli is the first dentist in 20 years to offer me a SOLUTION to my long term TMJ - not just a huge night guard. The excessive grinding of my teeth over the years has created sensitive areas, cracked teeth, ground the enamel almost down to the dentin on my front and back teeth, and cracked fillings. I knew when I went to see her that I had several small cavities and had resigned myself to sweet, hot, and cold sensitivities. She photographs everything she sees and any areas before and after she does work so you can see exactly what has been done (and justify it to your insurance company). All of the areas that had sensitivities that she has worked on are no longer having issues because she took the time to examine how the teeth are striking each other and patch the areas along the gum that were exposed. She and her team have filled some small new cavities, but also had to drill out old fillings due to cracking and decay under them. They removed a silver filling which included covering everything (and everyone) in sterile surgical gear and a huge evacuation system to ensure none of us were inhaling the toxic heavy metal. She suggested a long term solution for the grinding which included fixing up my smile (something I have become quite self conscious about) without $8,000 of cosmetic surgery (yes, that has been recommended to me). She has implemented a temporary fix while we work towards that long term goal - at no extra charge! My smile is amazing thanks to her and her skills! Everything she does, she tries to do within the guidelines of my insurance to minimize the out of pocket cost, however, I KNOW she and her staff go far above and beyond the minimal care... I wish I could elaborate on all of the work she has done but the list is long. Key point is that she and her staff do not cut corners, always treat you like a friend when you come in and care extensively about your comfort while you are under going treatment in their office. Did I mention the hydro massage table, massage dental chairs, and TVs on the ceiling to watch while you are being treated?

My experience at Honey Dental was amazing!! From the moment I walked in the door until I left I felt like the staff made me their number one priority. I originally had gone to honey dental expecting to get just a cleaning and whitening and be done. At the beginning the staff took their time to understand what I was looking for in a dentist. They also took the time to ask me a wide variety of questions to help me in particular. One of the issues that came up was some sensitivity I have had since I gave birth to my last child. I had always assumed that it was due to all of the different symptoms of pregnancy. Dr. Santilli took the time to explain to me that the sensitivity was actually caused by recession of my gums which was a result of me grinding my teeth at night. I told the Dr. I would love to have the problem solved as soon as possible but was leaving out of town in just two days. She told me that if it was something I really wanted to have done to get out of pain they could make room in their schedule for me the next day! At first I was a little worried because I hadnt had any dental work done besides the occasional cleaning since I was a teenager. Not only was the procedure completely painless, but Dr. Santilli made sure I was completely comfortable during the entire process. After she fixed the spots that were sensitive she told me that they could scan my teeth and make a 3D model of my teeth and have a night guard made for me so I dont have to deal with this problem in the future. The knowledge Dr. Santilli has was simply astonishing. I have never been to a dentist that not only spends more than 3 seconds in the room telling me I have cavities or not, but also took the time to explain what everything was and what caused it so I can prevent future pain. I would strongly recommend anybody to go visit Dr. Santilli and her staff so you too can have such an amazing experience.

First the good. The office is clean and modern. The dentist is young but seems knowledgable and keen to grow her business. They have lots of high tech equipment for sterilization and such and also movies to watch during procedures. Now for the not so good. During my visit, the staff was quite new and seemed unsure of their tasks. For example, the individual who did my xrays took multiple, like more than two dozen shots, trying to get it right. The object they had me bite down on was the wrong size and cutting into my mouth. I complained, and the hygienst apologized but no change in the procedure was made. Finally another assistant came in and switched the piece they were using in my mouth, which took away the pain, but that was after Id already had 45 minutes of xrays. I have had mouth xrays done many, many times and never have I been in so much pain from the experience. Additionally, when the dentist came in and was calling out teeth to another hygienst, the individual got several of the codes for the teeth wrong, and the dentist had to correct it on the computer for her. That didnt instill a lot of confidence in having them fill a cavity for me. Finally, this last one is a bit nitpicky but I didn’t care for the way they did patient intake (filling out the patient information forms). I was taken into a conference room by one of the front desk employees. She held my paperwork and went through the usual checkboxes of personal health/lifestyle questions. I think they were trying to add a "personal touch" here but I would have much preferred to just check my own boxes of private details in the waiting room. Again, the office has nice things about it. I think the dentist is intelligent and savvy and wants to build her practice. Hopefully, over time they will work out these kinks.

!!!!!STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!! My entire visit at this place lasted for close to 3 hours and all they did was take x-rays several times. I share the same feeling as some of the other comments. The hygienist was very rude and not helpful whatsoever. She took a quick look at my mouth, poked at my gums and straight away she said "You have a severe case of gingivitis and periodontitis as well. There is certainly loss of bone occurring." At that moment I became very skeptical about the place. I was then told that I needed a deeper cleaning and that they could not do any further basic cleaning unless I did the deeper cleaning. I have never seen a dentist office or even a doctors office with male receptionists with ties and earpieces at the front desk. Very creepy!!!!!! First, the hygienist said I would have to reschedule on another day to get it done. 5 minutes later one of these fellows in a tie and earpiece came in with paperwork and kept pressuring for me to get the deeper cleaning suggesting for me to come back in 2 hrs and they would "make" space in their schedule. After I refused this offer he then said if I wanted to wait 30 minutes they could get it done. Of course, they were eager to collect the $800 out of pocket payment!!!!!! Today I visited a well known dentist in Addison and he confirmed there is no sign of gingivitis, much less periodontitis. This place is a DISGRACE!
