Please DO NOT take your loved ones to Manor Care South following a major surgery, such as a knee replacement. My family and I had a horrible experience with their rehabilitation wing. While their staff is kind, they are understaffed and cannot provide the attention and/or resources to care for their patients properly. My mother had a knee replacement 3 days prior to her stay there, which was for 5 nights. They did not even have ice for her knee. Upon pushing the button for her medication or for help getting out of bed, no one would arrive for 15 to 20 minutes. I attempted to have her transferred to another facility and neither the doctor nor the liaison would return my many phone calls, so that I could get the order to have her transferred. Further, the food was awful and there is only one phone that gets passed around from patient to patient. We complained about these issues and were met with blank stares and shrugged shoulders. Again, please take your loved one to a specialized rehab facility – NOT Manor Care South.

My husband was in this Rehab or what ever you call it for 26 days and it was pure HELL...The only thing that kept him there was the Therapy which was great. There was never a meal that was delivered as hot or warm (cold). Coffee was (cold)...He would press his call bell and it would be 45 mins to an hour until anyone responded, (he could have been laying on the floor). He slipped and fell one night on something wet going to the bathroom and hit his head that bled. He showed Nurse the wetness. She cleaned it up...There was no notation on his record that his fall was due to liquid....This place is for those people who you hate and cant wait to get rid of. I will sell my soul to keep my Husband out of a place like this...By the way, he is 73 and I am 69, so we are not stupid.

My father in law fell 3 times in 3 weeks, pulled his catheter out, waits anywhere from 20 to 45 min. to be taken to or from the bathroom and has been complaining of tooth pain from day one and still waits for a dentist. All the while he does not eat and is losing weight and getting weaker everytime we see him. What kind of Re hab is that?? We are tired of the neglect and are making arrangements to get him out of there! Plus I couldn,t post this until I gave them 5 stars, They are negative stars!!

They do have some good nurses. but I cant say they are excellent because they are short staffed and that makes every one look bad. they need to make better meals and hand them out HOT would be nice. but the nurses are good to my mother at the most . they will always have some staff members that suck... Therapy isnt the greatest.
