I had an awful experience with Chase Brexton in Columbia. From the apathy of the support staff to the incompetence of the doctor, I was completely dissatisfied. When I first called to make an appointment, they didnt have a single opening for 2 months (how they manage to keep so many patients is a mystery). But I understand that many doctors offices are busy, so I scheduled the appointment for week down the road. About a week before the appointment date, I received a voicemail saying that my appointment had been rescheduled for several weeks later and they hoped the new date worked for me. Of course, it didnt. So I had to call back and reschedule. The actual appointment itself was passable. The reception staff was a bit cranky, but no major complaints there. The next problem came when I tried to fill my prescription. Bearing in mind that I take just one medicine and I dont have any major health complications, I was incredibly baffled to find out my doctor had written the prescription wrong! Thank goodness I have the sense of mind to check my medicine before I leave the pharmacy. So the next morning I tried to call the office to have my prescription corrected. After navigating through 5 mins of automated phone messages, I finally reached a voicemail box (no, not a person). Unfortunately, the mailbox was full. So I had to call back and weave through 5 more mins of phone menus. Only to reach a different mailbox. And despite their assurances that calls received by 4pm (I called at 9am) are returned that same business day, I didnt hear back that day. Or the next. So on day 3, I tried calling them again. Again, I called at 9 am, but repeatedly was forwarded to their after hours emergency line. It took 3 calls there before anyone bothered to inform me that the Columbia office is closed on Wednesdays until 11. Sigh. So I called back at 11. And continued to reach the after hours answering service until 11:30. But again, all I could get from the Columbia office were voicemail boxes, so I started testing out new menu paths until I got to an actual person. Three times in a row, the receptionist redirected my call the same full voicemail box I had reached on my own. Irritated by my incessant calling, she finally forwarded me to a manager (not a medical professional who could actually handle my problem, but at least someone who could take some action). Sadly, the manager was also unavailable, so I had to leave yet another voicemail. I continued to call throughout the afternoon, until I miraculously reached a person who could help me. Three days after my initial phone call. None of my voicemails were ever returned. Needless to say, with their appalling customer service, I am on the hunt for a new doctor.

This place is out right horrible. I want to start with the fact that it is May, and when I called them this afternoon they said their next appointment is not until September 11th. How this makes sense when I am sitting here sick, is beyond me. Also not only am I sick now but I have been sick for over 9 months with a sore throat, it took them until last month to diagnose me with a fungal infection that has become so serious that I can barely eat or swallow. I am a young college student and mother and unfortunately the only insurance that I have been able to obtain is the state insurance and I have not been able to find anyone that takes it besides this office. When I go to the hospital or urgent care for this problem they do not see it serious enough to handle and tell me I need to go to my primary care office, which is this office here in Columbia. I am lost, and I feel like this place takes advantage of those like me who have no choice but to use their office. I do not have transportation so I cant even call anyone outside of Columbia. I dont know whats going to happen to me if this infection does not get taken care of, my grades are slipping at school, my son needs me and half the time I am in so much pain I cannot give him the attention he needs. My point is please dont waste your time and effort with this place, they will not help you, they are just going to collect any money they can from you. If you do explain to them you cannot wait for several months to be seen they will transfer you to several people who initially sound like they can help you and just transfer you away in a full circle back to who you started with, I even sat on hold this afternoon for over 35 minutes just to be hung up on. These people need to be shut down, I feel like they are running a fraudulent business taking advantage of people who are sick and cannot afford to see other doctors. I am not someone taking advantage of the state for money, sitting in a room somewhere collecting welfare and taking drugs. I am a struggling mother working each and every single day to get an education and a better life for my son and I. What these people are doing is disgraceful, and I want it to be recognized.

Not very impressed with the Columbia branch. I think Nurse Practitioner Asom is very good, and she is the reason I have put 2 stars instead of 1. The overall branch is just not run very efficiently. I had to wait about 2 months to be seen, which was a little frustrating, but I didnt think too much of it at the time. When I came in for my appointment (I was a new patient, so I got there 15 minutes early), I ended up waiting over an hour to be taken back into an exam room. I made a joke to the tech taking me back, saying "I must have had the wrong appointment time" and she didnt react at all to it. Probably because she had heard complaints before. The waiting room was relatively empty, too.....I have no idea why the wait to be seen was so long. I tried to come back today to get my lab work done, which needed to be after fasting. After waiting in a crowded waiting room for about 15-20 minutes, a lab tech walks through the waiting room and says loudly "For those of you waiting to have blood work done Ill be back shortly. Im the only one." She was gone for about 10-15 minutes and then returned, taking a patient back with her to draw labs. This is when I realized how many people were in front of me, based off of my ticket number. I waited for another 15 minutes or so and neither the patient she had taken back, nor the tech herself had re-appeared from the back room. If it was going to take 15 minutes or more to draw each persons blood, I would have been waiting for another hour +. I returned my number to the front desk asking if they usually only had one tech working on drawing labs. The answer was yes, but I was told the wait wasnt usually this long. I decided to leave, because I had not eaten breakfast and was already really hungry. I came from a doctors office in Indiana that was adjacent to their lab and NEVER had to wait like this, for either my appointment or for labs. There were also typically 2-4 techs drawing blood, not just one in a busy office. Not sure if this is what I should expect from busy Columbia, MD or not. Im overall not very impressed, and I dont think Im going to even bother to get my labs drawn.
