I brought my wife, whos in her early forties, to emergency due to fever and flu like symptoms. She had the dry heaves-so we were that couple sitting in the waiting room with one of those pink puke trays. My wife was of course embarrassed and trying not to dry heave in front of everyone. Registration was quick and gratefully we only had to wait about 45-minutes to an hour to get a temporary room. So far so good. We get a PA and he orders CT scan , blood and urine work, and finally Strep test. All tests were done in a timely fashion. No major discoveries from test results. Again, so far so good. About 20 minutes after discussing diagnosis and prescribed meds with PA, my wife was given a "medicinal morphine cocktail" via IV for pain and nausea. She was out cold. Shortly thereafter, we were given the ok to go home and check out. Wife still out cold. I know hospitals can get busy and overcrowded, but from there on it seemed like they were on a mission to get us out. 10 min later they purposefully and hurriedly, woke her up and removed IV. She immediately passed back out. 5 min. later I was handed a stack of paperwork, they put her in wheelchair, still a zombie from cocktail, and wheeled my disoriented wife to emergency entrance for pick up. (btw, she was alone in the wheelchair when I drove up to emergency entrance to pick her up.) On the way home ,we stopped at Walgreens to hand them our prescription and low and behold...no paperwork for prescription. My wife was still feeling ill and told me to hurry on home, which is about 45 minutes away. So in summary, it started out ok, but then it felt like the hospital staff was on a record paced mission to get us out of there as fast as possible, no matter the circumstances, ultimately neglecting their duties. The following day, I had to leave work early, pick up prescription and deliver to Walgreens. While back at hospital, I gave the person who delivered me the prescription a bit of a lecture, but I could tell message went through on ear and out the other. Finally, we had a similar experience a few months prior, only that time, we never made it to a temp room, they had a basic MASH unit set up in an inside waiting room. Again, all of us in that MASH unit that day, were treated like a herd of animals, ultimately being shepherded out like animals as fast as they could. Update: 10/30/2014 My wife recently had an early morning routine Endoscopy at Banner Del E Webb Sun City West and Dr. advised that all looked normal but would have to wait for biopsy results a week or so later. No complaints, Understood. Before you leave a nurse goes over a few items including a list of reasons to come back if anything out of the ordinary were to happen. My wife is 42 years old. After the exam and at home by this time, my wife complained about slight migraine headache. It was about 11am. She rested all day in bed with lights off and as the day progressed so did the pain. At about 9:30 pm my wife was in tears and asked me to call 911. Her pain threshold was 10 out of 10. She was taken by ambulance to hospital emergency care where she was placed in a wheel chair in the waiting area for 1 and 1/2 hours crying out loud in extreme pain, embarrassment and nausea. Finally she mumbled under her tears that she would rather die at home in bed than in the waiting area. I pulled the car around wheeled her out and she crawled into the backseat , still in utter pain and embarrassment. I did advise the proper staff that we were leaving. We wont ever be coming back.

Worse experience ever!! Banner D Webb has some of the most RUDE staff and physicians I have ever encountered. I was treated like pure trash. I was in pain and ignored literally for hours bringing my pain from a maneagable 4 to a 9. Nurse said that only Morphine was prescribed and it would make my headache much worse. I was left in a cold hallway unattended for about 40 min waiting to get an MRI only to be told after waiting in the cold hallway that their machine was down. The doctor did not explain my MRI results which took them 3 days to get the MRI done. He stated I should just get the answers from my neurologist which I dont have one. In 3 days I was not offered a clean face towel or toothbrush. I was told since I came in with spasms I could not eat nor drink although one those stopped they still would not allow me even a sip of water. The charge nurse Tam was rude not holding the nurses accountable even though she admitted herself the nurse gave inaccurate information. The nurse Emily ignored me most of the time when I explained the tingling sensations and prickly feeling in my legs. I was discharged without a follow up care plan still in pain, weak and dizzy I informed them I could barely walk due to my right side feelinh weak and they continued to shoo me out the door like I was trash. This hospital has the compassion of a serial killer and I intend to file an official GRIEVANCE with CMS and any other agency that will listen. Dr Joseph barely said 2 words and did not examine me at all he was also not responding to the nurses repeated calls he would not let me know what the results of my MRI and I advised him of my dissatisfaction of that he then informed the nurse even though my headache was on 9 I could not have iv drugs (Morphine), but instead prescribed me 325mg of regular Tylenol. I informed them Tylenol Extra strength over the counter is more than that and this will not help with the pain I was experiencing. This hospital lacks passion and competency and I believe the only cases they are used to handling are the poor elderly who they service who no no better and ask no questions. They prescribed me a drug named Toradol which could cause me as a stage 3,kidney patient adverse reactions. I do not know who reads this but this is a pleas to not take yourself or loved ones there. I have requested all documentation and will file an official grievance because I bet the mistake with the meds was not even entered into Midas. That could have placed me into kidney failure I left this hospital feeling worse than I came. I wouldnt even want my corpse brought here. I worked Im the healthcare industry in administration for 8 years and I am appalled at patient experience. I was judged and treated poorly and was even at one point insinuinated that I was faking the spasms/seizures which I dont even know how or if that is possible. Worse patient experience

ER staff is the most disgusting rude pack of wolves Ive ever met. My husband was treated like he was a waste of their time. You sit in a little room on the other side of the curtain, apparently they feel is sound proof and they carry on like a rowdy high school class room. They did not speak about patience and work related conversation, They had more fun talking ill of the patience who in their opinions are all faking it. They conduct their work day as if they are on some kind of spring break vacation. The laughter, and loudly made inside jokes, becomes very uncomfortable to listen to, among the jabs about the patience in their lame excuses to bother the ER and the wild party we have apparently crashed. Turns out my big lug of a faker husband suffered and aneurysm, Oh but did the reality of this emergency change the behavior? Nope.. test confirms an aneurysm.. so hes shuffled over to another colored coded area and sits there from 11am to 5pm before taken to the proper third floor. I honestly for the life of me cant figure out why any one of them chose this line of work. What is so hard for them to comprehend the mental state of someone is such desperation for their LIFE they would visit an ER and they assume its for what? For fun, we love to sit in uncomfortable chairs, for hours on end with life or death hanging over our heads? Or maybe they think we just love huge over priced bills? I dont know but for the hardest 48 hours of my life where I have to think about my own future, possibly with out my husband raise our 5 children, or manage a life time of care for the moments in this hospital that have changed our lives for ever, they sure made it all that much more miserable!! If it had not been for the kindness and real compassion of the EKG Nurse, Steven we were and would have walked out before the huge crucial reality of my husbands condition was even given, because of the inhuman rude manor those nurses and doctors in the Banner emergency depart conducted them selves with. Steven in his caring sensitive manor spoke with us on a real level, like two friends having coffee. He calmly listen and sympathies with our frustration and found away to convince my husband to just stick it out and thank god we did! Steven in my opinion saved my husbands life, I my self have had 5 children and a nice round of plastic surgery, sat bed side for my husband an other family members in a state of medical crisis, so I am familiar with how hospitals treat their patience and this one has been the absolute worst Ive ever encountered.
