I am never one to leave a review, but when it came to my experiences with this hospital I felt inclined to do so. In May 2017 I had severe back surgery. Basically had my back rebuilt from a horrific accident. My surgeon was and still is amazing. I am sad thst he is affiliated with this establishment. I am a 36 year old healthy mother of two. I have never had a surgery before so I dont have much to compare it to, but I know that how I was treated after surgery was anything but right. Some of the staff tried really hard to keep me comfortable. The day nurses were great but they are stretched way too thin and a lot of times having to clean up after the night nurses. They were always apologetic, but you can only handle so many apologies when your meds are coming an hour late and you dont want to urinate all over yourself. The night nurses were just down right awful and could have cared less. On the first night I saw my nurse once. I constantly hit the call button but she never came. After back surgery (or any surgery) you need help using the bathroom. Well, no response ends up with accidents. Again the morning nurse was apologetic, but her response was "she just had a baby and it was her first night back". My husband of course was at his wits end and stayed every night after that he was the one who helped me with a bed pan and had to remind the nurse every 3 hours for my pain meds (Which always came an hour late). I waited my time out and just begged to go home by the 4th day. July 2017- I now need to see wound care because one of my incisions hasnt closed up. After 6 weeks of wound care I wish I could go back and get that night nurse back. Dont expect to be seen anywhere close to your appointment time (try 2 hours later). I have been told that they forgot about me, that my file got misplaced and that people were more severe then I was so I had to wait. Only to get back to a room for a different Dr every time to tell "yeah it looks good, keep doing what your doing". My pain and wound was only getting worse. I couldnt take it anymore and called Carroll wound care center. Thank God I did. My tunnel is so deep that the Dr can stick his finger up the wound and feel the hardware in my back which is also infected. This would be the main reason why it wont heal. So here we are 8/22/17 and after my first visit with Carroll I have been admitted and will be leaving with a vac after a couple of days of IV antibiotics. But now Ill go home with home care nurses and an IV to continue antibiotics at home. My point is, Northwest hospital needs to get their s#*t together and treat theyre patients as they would want their sick loved one to be cared for. Dont rush your patients, dont make them feel like dirt on your shoe, treat them and take care of them. Trust me, we dont ask for this. We dont ask to be sick. You are in the profession you are in because you are supposed to want to help people now act like it. What is happening to me could have been prevented if you just did your damn job the right way the first time. I just glad I got out when I did. Sorry for the lengthy review. Unfortunately I have some time on my hands now that Im laying in a hospital bed.

My girlfriend came into the ER 3 hours ago, and when i came in to visit her, they repeatedly told me she was fine and comfortable but not accepting visitors. After watching the staff point and laugh at me in response to my concerns about her safety, i asked someone to ask her if she was okay. i watched them enter the ER hall, and stand and talk to another nurse for about 10 minutes before coming out and telling me that my girlfriend had said she was fine. Despite the fact that this woman never left my sight, and so obviously hadnt talked to her. When i finally was allowed to see her, she was extremely emotionally distressed, nonverbal, and apparently having a panic attack because of the hospitals treatment. When i confronted the staff about this, mentioning that shed been fine, emotionally, prior to entering their "care," i was thrown out and denied entry. i asked that she be allowed her phone so we could keep in communication, and was told that as their patient, "she has no rights" and that if i remained on premises, they would have me arrested for trespassing. They also continually misgendered us both (were trans, and shes legally female) and after being corrected several dozen times, i was told "whatever, sir, it doesnt matter." Despite the fact that the person i was speaking to knew (was told over a dozen times) i identify female, and i was presenting as such. All in all, id say you should pray to whatever god you worship that youre never sent here, because the staff are disrespectful, abusive, and guilty of at the least sexual discrimination, psychological abuse and unlawful imprisonment, and i plan to inform the police once shes safely out of their grasp. Seriously, these people are monsters, and the sooner this place is shut down, the better.

I had surgery here on April 9th. An elective surgery, LAP Tubal Ligation. I arrived at 6:30 a.m., surgery was scheduled at 7:30 a.m. I was 15 min late seeing I drove about 45 min to this hospital and it was my first time going there so I didnt judge my timing just right. Even though I was a few min late, they had me in the Operating Room on time. During Pre-op, I had the chance to meet several people involved in my care for my surgery. My doc of course, the nurses, assistants, anesthesiologists (3 of them helped me I believe) and the entire Operation room staff. Id have to say that EVERYONE WAS AMAZING. Even the woman at the front desk when I came into the main entrance who had my papers ready to go and had the surgical nurse come and get me to escort me where I needed to go. At 6:30 in the morning, who feels like being awake first of all, this team wasnt just awake, they were compassionate, they had a sense of humor, they helped me with anything I needed after my surgery as well and on top of it all, they kept my family informed of what was going on with me. Family was allowed to be with me at every second of my visit except during the operation of course. After surgery when I woke up, family was allowed to be with me within a min or 2, definitely not longer. That made me feel much more comfortable, seeing that I get a little confused after anesthesia. This hospital was great to me and Id recommend anyone to come here, needing an operation. They were awesome. Thank you N.W. Hospital for nothing but a positive experience

Really 4.8 stars. We just had a very positive experience at Northwest Hospital. Their Surgery Center looks brand new, very clean, and their staff was outstanding. The nursing staff took great care of my family member, the anesthesiologist was over-the-top excellent. After surgery, we spent a night in the hospital. Each patient had single rooms with a very nice reclining chair for a family member to spent the night. The rooms were clean and very well equipped: comfortable, modern beds, all the equipment necessary to monitor patients, televisions and free WIFI. It seemed to me that the hospital had recently invested in a lot of great technology. Each nurse had around their neck a device that was like a communicator device out of Star Trek. The used it to place orders, to make phone calls and to contact or locate other staff. I saw a robot make a delivery to the nurses station. All record keeping was electronic. Did I mention that they had free WIFI. Best of all, the nurses and techs were wonderful, considerate, compassionate and caring. The transportation techs, the guys who move the patients from one place to another, were great also. This came very close to 5 stars for me. The biggest issue, and its not a big one, was that the public hallway restrooms on the 3rd floor were messier than they should have been. Not disgusting or gross, they just had some messy customers that left papers around that didnt get cleaned up in a timely manner.
