I believe that they missed a huge opportunity at early diagnosis for our dog. I took him there with foamy , runny snot in the winter time and they said it was probably allergies but they gave him an antibiotic anyway just in case. After the two weeks were up I called to tell them that the condition ceased while on the medication and the symptoms returned after the prescription ran out. Again they insisted that he didnt need to be seen, that it was probably allergies and the testing was so extensive that it wasnt worth pursuing. I didnt know any better so I believed what they said. A few months later we took him back to the vet we used before moving to the Harleysville area because we trusted them and it was gradually getting worse. By that time it was too late to save him. We and our former vet did everything we could. In the end we did not find out what his illness was but in the last few weeks were able to rule out pneumonia and cancer. By that point he was fading so rapidly.

We have been taking our pets to Harleysville Veterinary Hospital since we moved here 21 years ago. They are OUTSTANDING!! Weve met all their doctors and weve never been disappointed. They treat the animals that walk through their doors like they were their own pets. They are very caring about the animals and us, their owners also. Their staff are always very nice, friendly and helpful. Our 13 year old beagle has had two knee surgeries, one tumor removed, and a tube placed in his ear lope. One Friday night they opened their office at 10:30pm to help us with our cat when we accidently gave her the wrong medication. When our first two cats passed away, they were just wonderful with us. Then two years ago when we found a young mommy cat and her 6 week old kitten living under our shed they were so helpful. These two cats have brought so much joy to our lives. They do their best to keep cost down also. We are blessed to have them right here in Harleysville.

My family and I have been going to this vet for over 20 years, and most of our experiences have been great. I do trust them. However, my most recent experience caused a lot of unnecessary inconvenience that could have easily been avoided. The vet called me saying she wanted to do a urinalysis on my dog. She didnt tell me how much urine to bring in, that it should be the first urine of the day or that it had to be within 24 hours. When I called to find out the amount needed for testing, I was told the office had collection containers that were marked to show measurement. The next day, after bringing in the urine I collected and being told it might not work because it was slightly over 24 hours, I asked for one of their containers and was told they didnt have any. Still, they took the 24+ hour sample I had and told me they would let me know. Now I dont know if this test will be accurate, and so Ill probably end up paying for another.

The staff here is very genuine, you feel welcomed the moment you walk in and you know they care. The wait time is normally under 5 min, the waiting area is sparkling clean and there are many separate areas if you want some space. The services are reasonably priced and you get more then your moneys worth. My vet, Dr Lukov is incredibly kind, very real and down to earth and you dont feel like a number, he takes time to get to know you and your pet, every time. Ive been here many times and went here thru a very difficult terminal diagnosis of my dog, I always felt compassion and my furry family member was treated with such love and kindness, I will never forget how amazing Dr Lukov and the staff were to her. Vets like this are rare and that much more appreciated, thank you Dr and thank you Harleysville Veterinary Hospital for being so incredible and making my pets feel like family.

I absolutely LOVE Harleysville Veterinary Hospital!! I have been taking my 2 dogs here for the past 6 years and always receive excellent and prompt care. The entire staff is super friendly and professional. I have never had a problem getting an appointment-even last minute. The place is spotless too. The receptionists are always kind, especially in stressful situations. My lab has had 2 separate overnight stays for injury/illness and they were so compassionate and reassuring. I feel their fees are extremely reasonable. They call quickly after procedures and explain things to you. I dont have a single bad word to say about them. My 2 girls are my life-they mean everything to me. I am so happy to have this wonderful practice to bring them to.

I just wanted to send a heartfelt thank you to Harleysville Vet and especially to Dr. John Gonzalez for the wonderful care our cat Charlotte received there. The receptionists were always kind, professional and attentive. Dr. Gonzalez has a kind-hearted, warm yet professional bedside manner. He is knowledgeable and thorough, while keeping his client’s best interest in mind. He was super informative, patient and a great communicator throughout our visits. We really appreciated his time, efforts and flexibility in presenting the various options associated with best managing our cats health, from her initial visit till we sadly had to say goodbye. Id recommend him and Harleysville Vet to anyone in the community who needs quality pet care.

EXTREMELY UPSET with this vet hospital. Took my dog there to be spayed and was quoted $450. When I went to pick up my dog- the girl who released her to me knew absolutely nothing about my dog and was completely clueless. She told me to give my dog double the pain medicine that was actually supposed to be given, and told me to call the office the next day to figure out what her recovery would be like because she didnt know. Just completely clueless. Anyways, a few days later I get a bill in the mail for $763 for the surgery and Harleysville wont do anything about it except apologize for quoting me $450. Clueless liars work there. I would not suggest to anyone, and my dog or any animal I own will never be going here again.

I have been a client of Harleysville Vet Hospital for over 18 years. I have recently moved out of Montgomery County but still travel over an hour to bring my dogs to Harleysville. I have looked for other vets closer to where I live now but cannot find any hospital that can begin to compare the Harleysville. I appreciate the care that my dogs receive and the respect that I am given as the owner. The charges are fair and reasonable compared to other hospitals and it has never been suggested to me that I spend extra money on services that my dogs do not need. I feel great comfort in knowing that I can always get in contact with one of the vets and they are available to meet me at the hospital if needed.

A Private User

My husband and I use this vet because his mother chose it, and we have never had any problems. There are a few Individuals we request not to see, just because we dont think they do as good of a job as possible but Dr Hawkins is wonderful. My husband had to put his cat down because of a blood clot blocking his veins to his legs (lots of pain, horrible awfulness) and she was wonderful when that had to happen. I have two dogs and a cat and they are great for them, the vet techs are pretty much always pleasant and helpful and the doctors are always willing to explain anything you ask of them (even if youre just being a silly worried person). Would and have recommended this office to anyone and everyone!
