I had to take my dog in for allergies and shots but I needed to find a new vet for her. I came her because of their free initial visit coupon. The doctor was incredibly nice and very knowledgeable. I was able to get all of her needs taken care of and they were very nice to me and my dog. As for previous reviews of the pricing being high and just wanting to throw out tests wasnt a big problem. I got many items including several tests and shots because I needed them. I got to see their pricing up front on most services. I cant say a hundred percent if they are the cheapest but they seem on par with the other vet I have used and banfield seemed higher. As for throwing out tests most vets always get one or two tests at least on a first visit to check the dog out and all of three of the previous vets I went to required a heart worm test before giving out pills. Dont get me wrong I wish all around dog care was cheaper but with our advances in animal medicine theres just a lot more to telling if a dog is ok then looking at their teeth and eyes these days. Long story short Doctor was great and offered knowledge that I was able to confirm accurate from previous experience. Price was reasonable

Sadly these people are a little too enthusiastic about selling you stuff and less enthusiastic about your pets health. I took two small dogs there, and for annual exams, shots, flu vaccine, and new itch medication my bill was well over $800. This is including the first free exam discount and declining $600 worth of additional "routine" tests. The problem isnt even the cost, but one of my dogs has been seriously ill for weeks after this. There was so much done that its impossible to tell if it was a bad reaction to one of the medications or if it was a reaction to some combination. Out of concern for his health Ive had to stop the medications I paid so much for in the first place. Seriously overpriced and overdosed. Third time going there trying to help my one dog and after a 20 minute wait to be seen the vet tech comes in and asks if hes on any medication. Are you kidding me? Neither the tech nor the vet that followed had bothered to review the dogs medical history. And hes a dog, his file is about 3 pages. So they do an exam without knowing what medications they put my dog on and why. Rookies. And then they tried to bill me for it! Ate you fking with me?

We took our sweet loving dog, Bentley, to VCA last Monday because he could no longer put any weight on his back leg. We were hoping he just needed a shot in his leg and he would be ok. It was then that we were given the devistating news that our boy had cancer. Dr Kempfer and her staff were so supportive and patient with all our questions. They spent so much time with us after the diagnosis. We left there with all our questions answered. She was so personable and professional. Sadly, just today we brought him in to put him to sleep. Everyone from the receptionist, to the techs, and Dr Kempfer were so patient and supportive. They gave us all the time we needed with our sweet boy - and while this is every pet owners worst nightmare- they made it as easy and peaceful as possible. Everything was flawless- from the IV insertion to the administration of the medication... On our way out the receptionist stopped me and asked me "can I give you a hug?"- I have never had such a sincere, compassionate experience at any other vet. I would recommend to anyone.

Here they will take as much money from you as they can with a bunch of phoney procedures that in my case, were totally unnecessary. I couldnt believe what this woman told me when I asked her about euthanizing my cat. First question was "Have we seen your cat before." Ans. "No." Placed on hold for a minute and she comes back with "We have to first give your cat an exam." Im thinking for what, I want my cat put to sleep. I ask why, and she says thats their policy. So, then I ask how much it will be altogether. Answer: $181. This is an obvious money grab. Totally overboard for the task of giving my cat a shot and having her die right there. These doctors" are a bunch of money grubbing parasites trying to suck as much money as possible out of grieving, and vulnerable, pet owners. My advice: Dont call this place for anything.

Having recently lost two cats and having no faith in my vet, I decided to start looking for a new one. I found Dr. Trefz through a friend and they are amazing. The entire staff is caring and kind. Dr. Trefz and Dr. Donovan go above and beyond to make sure your pet is well cared for. My dog is very reserved as he was rescued at a young age from an abusive home. He is hesitant to make friends however with Dr. Trefz and most all of the vet techs he is almost as excited to seem them as he is me! When Dr. Trefz sits on his stool to talk to us my dog lays underneath the stool with his head on the doctors foot. TOO SWEET. Not to mention their prices are much more reasonable than MANY other vets in the area.

Instead of doing simple blood tests they just pushed drugs. As a result my poor cat suffered another six weeks before a different vet did the necessary blood work & discovered that she had leukemia. She suffered unnecessarily just so VCA could schedule more visits and push more drugs! I will NEVER forgive those people for making my poor cat suffer like that. What kind of people put the almighty dollar ahead of the welfare of a helpless, sick creature? Shame on all of you! Just shame, shame, shame!

These guys really know what they are doing.. They take the best care of my animals and I recommend them to every animal owner that I know! They amaze me more and more each time, and my dogs loves it. They always make us feel so comfortable, I really appreciate everyone at VCA! The woman below this comment is NUTS and she is clearly one of those people that cannot be pleased.

The front staff is very courteous and they always seem to be able to fit me in during the day as my schedule is quite unpredictable and it is difficult to schedule appointments. I have met several of their veterinarians and each has been exceptionally friendly, competent and available to answer all my questions. I would absolutely recommend these guys to anyone.

Everyone was pleasant but it is true, a lot of upselling and surprise charges. The thing to do is ask very explicit questions, such as "will there be any other charges or expenses whatsoever". They do have the lowest boarding fees for a cat but then they require more as far as shots/tests than other boarding facilities which tends to offset any savings.

They were always pretty good with my pets, but I do think they try to upsell you. Nice vets, so-so assistants. When I tried to have my records faxed to another vet due to a move, it took three phone call requests and they never did end up doing it. Other than that, pretty average.
