Overall I am completely dissatisfied with this vet after the many recommendations from friends and family as well as the reviews of 5 stars I read. We found a stray dog which we took to Pinellas County Animal Control in hopes of finding her owner, after the 30 day hold period we took her down to this Vet after deciding to keep her. We were notified that we had 14 days to get the rabies vaccine for the dog by the Animal Control Officer. We did so and received the certificate from the Vet, they told us that they would inform the county that everything had been satisfied. Fast forward to after the 14 day grace period we received a fine and court date posted at our house. We visited Sunset Point Animal Hospital to confirm they sent the paperwork as they stated they would. We called Animal Control to confirm the number that they can fax to. The office staff stated they would fax it that day and call us when it was complete, they did so. We call Animal Control the next day to confirm they received everything and that the fine and court date would be satisfied. They informed us that they had NOT received the information and that we were still in violation. I drove back to the Vet and they told me they had sent it but would do so again. I waited this time while they faxed it, the office staff returned and stated they had. I promptly called Animal Control to confirm, they had NOT received again. I asked if I could drop off the paperwork, they agreed. After driving another 45 minutes I arrive at Animal Control and remedied the situation that Sunset Point Animal Hospital could not on 3 occasions. I was willing to accept technical difficulty with the fax machine but upon looking at the back of the paper that the vet supposedly faxed, they had written down the wrong number that I gave them initially as well as on my second visit. This mistake has cost several hours of my time and gas. Sadly we will never bring our pets here again despite my wife and I liking the care we received from the doctor on our initial visit, solely on the incompetence of the office staff. I have informed the office that they have lost my business and will not be returning

When I was looking for a new vet, several people at the dog park recommended Dr. Freeman and Sunset Point Animal Hospital. From our first appointment for routine vaccinations, I was very impressed by Dr. Freeman and his staff. Everyone is very considerate and professional, and Dr. Freeman, unlike other vets Ive been to, didnt try to sell me a bunch of pie-in-the-sky treatments for my dogs seasonal allergies. I told him how I was handling it, and he said it all sounded fine to him. He answered all of my questions and I was very satisfied. But recently . . . My beloved dog was in severe pain a few weeks ago, screaming and flailing about, after playing by himself upstairs. He was paralyzed in his hind quarter and in extreme discomfort. I immediately when to Sunset Point Animal Hospital, without even calling first. It was clear that this was a medical emergency, and there was no time to waste. The staff was kind and compassionate, which was not easy since I was an absolute mess. Dr. Freeman squeezed us in right away and diagnosed my dog with a slipped disc. He took time to discuss the options with me and my husband, who was on speakerphone. He called to find someone that would take my dog into surgery ASAP, time being of the essence in cases like this. We also discussed my dogs chances and Dr. Freeman gave me honest advice. I trust him completely and do not feel that any of his treatments or recommendations are based on profitability, which is how Ive felt at some vets in the past. He got us an appointment at Tampa Bay Veterinary Specialists. This was wonderful because it was a shorter drive and the place in Tampa that was a contender is one that I used during a gastrointestinal emergency and found to be lacking in compassion, communication, and bedside manner. Its been a little over three weeks, and thanks to Dr. Freeman and the excellent surgeon he recommended, my dog is healing and able to walk short distances. During the first week after surgery, I had several questions and the staff at Sunset Point always answered them and put my mind at ease. In this case, I dont even think 5 stars are enough.

Dr Conrad is no longer here and his concern for the greyhounds left with him. After a botched surgery by "Dr" Villabona, a lack of post op meds and followup care, we had to go to an emergency animal hospital to get quality care when we needed it. Eventually, because Sunset Point wouldnt see us in a timely manner for another emergency (related to post op care), we had to find another vet all together. Dr Freeman never bothered to call us back himself, even after I left another message for him at the front desk in person. We had to have the surgery redone, but found competent vet care elsewhere as a result. When we picked up my dogs file, it was incomplete and inaccurate. This is NOT the same place it was when Dr Conrad was here. Thankfully, one of the board members at my rescue recommended his vet to us, who we have complete confidence in. It turns out that none of the board members I know actually use this vet for their own dogs. I assume they use it for their fosters for financial considerations. I just wish they would update their site so people arent under the false impression that Dr Conrad is still here. Now there was a vet that knew greyhounds. Thanks to Tampa Bay Vet Specialists for being there when I needed them for quality care.

My family and I have been taking our pets to Dr. Conrad for over 20 years now and have never been disappointed. They not only make sure your animal is comfortable and in the best of care, but they also make sure the owners are OK and fully understand whats going on. Conrad always gives you multiple options financially. When my dog got to the point of needing glucosamine/MSM, Conrad said he could sell me an expensive bottle from his office or I could go to the CVS across the street and get it for 1/2 the price! There was a point after I had moved out of my parents house, that I didnt have a dog for about 5 yrs. When I finally got one, I brought him right to Conrad and he remembered me and was telling his staff that my family had been coming there since I was in kindergarten. Tomorrow my bulldog is scheduled for a surgery. The office doesnt open until 8 - same time I have to be at work for my first day on the job. They told me I could drop him off at 7:30 because a staff member would be there. All I have to do is knock on the door. If you are looking for a good vet, Conrad is the best choice!

We took our cat in and they gave him an xray and said that he had a lung infection. Then the assistant asked us if we wanted our cat "Put Down". We said, cant we try to treat this? Reluctantly, they gave him a booster antibiotic shot, at least that was what they told us. He was dead 5 minuets after we got him home. First he lost the use of his back legs and started peeing on himself. Then he could barely breath. His tongue started turning blue and he cried for help constantly until he finally stopped breathy. We barely got him in the door and this vet murdered our cat. %$#@ this place. These people purposefully murdered our cat because they thought his lung infection was too far off. They lied to us and said they would try to help him. Instead, they gave him a massive overdose that killed him in 15 minuets. We called, upset, the doctor refused to speak to us. The assistant didnt even say they were sorry. They said, "you need to bring him back for disposal". I hope they all rot in hell the lying murdering you know whats.
