I recently visited the optometrist office of Dr. Hixenbaugh at the Gardens Mall in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida attached to the Lenscrafters to have my eyes checked before getting new lenses for my eye glasses. I suffer from astigmatism. The next day after receiving my eye glasses I started experiencing headaches. I called the Lenscrafters and they told me to come in have the glasses checked. Due to my busy schedule I told them it would be after 5pm. They said that was fine. On Friday October 23rd, I went into the Lenscrafters and the optician checked my prescription to the glasses and it was correct. So, I went back over to the optometrists office attached and informed the receptionist (Michelle) that I was experiencing headaches. She looked up my prescription in the computer and argued with me that I shouldnt be getting headaches because my prescription had not changed that much. I told her that I was getting headaches all week (since I started wearing my new prescription), and I wasnt with the previous glasses. She printed my old prescription and told me to just get that refilled instead. I told her I wanted my eyes checked first by the optometrist. She stated that they could not fit me and I would have to come back for an appointment sometime next week. I asked her how long would it take to check my eyes and she stated 5 minutes. She didnt want to even attempt to fit me in. After that, I requested I speak to a manager. The manager was in the other room and fitting contacts for another customer. The manager came out and was even less helpful. Florida Statue 463.009 which states: Supportive personnel.—No person other than a licensed practitioner may engage in the practice of optometry as defined in s. 463.002(7). Except as provided in this section, under no circumstances shall nonlicensed supportive personnel be delegated diagnosis or treatment duties; however, such personnel may perform data gathering, preliminary testing, prescribed visual therapy, and related duties under the direct supervision of the licensed practitioner. Nonlicensed personnel, who need not be employees of the licensed practitioner, may perform ministerial duties, tasks, and functions assigned to them by and performed under the general supervision of a licensed practitioner, including obtaining information from consumers for the purpose of making appointments for the licensed practitioner. The licensed practitioner shall be responsible for all delegated acts performed by persons under her or his direct and general supervision. Without speaking to a licensed optometrist, Michelle made the decision that my old prescription was more correct than my new prescription, and advised me to ignore the new prescription that had been given to me by my doctor. This is a medical opinion which she is not qualified to give. I can only imagine what other medical decisions she has made for patients without first consulting with the doctor.

Im very impressed with the experience I had here! Unfortunately at first, my wife and I both went to an independent eye doctor for our initial exams and I ended up needing a prescription for glasses for the first time. I felt this experience wasnt very personalable tho, the recepetionest was rude to my wife, this office was staffed by two people (her and the doctor) so things didnt happen in a timely manner either. All the glasses at this office were overpriced as well. So I wanted more options and a better experience. I went over to LensCrafters in the gardens mall and was immediately greeted by the store manager with a big smile. I said I was looking around at styles and prices and she let me wander. I found something I liked and asked if I could get a quote. They had no problems filling a prescription from elsewhere. She was not pushy on selling me this and that, was very honest. She gave me four different options and price points. I even asked for her honest opinion for my face type what type of glasses would fit me right. She did not hesitate and spent almost an hour with me. I do have insurance so this did help, but I found the prices to be very reasonable in general! I bought a pair with the protection plan ($35) and they said the would call/text right when they came in. I will be going to LensCrafters from now on, especially this location for myself and wife. I encourage you to come here and experience this office for yourself.

The LensCrafters in Macys at the Gardens Mall is the better place to go for glasses. The one in the mall did not offer the same kind of courteous service, and as a matter of fact, it was exactly the opposite. Although Macys LensCrafters does not offer one hour service, they do offer a better experience and outcome. Fred, who works there was excellent. He was polite and efficiently dealt with my frame selection and prescription needs. Sometimes showing a customer respect is more important than wait time, and I found that respect was almost absent at the store located in the mall.

I have been buying prescription glasses at Lenscrafters in the Palm Beach Gardens Mall for years, and am amazed some negative reviews here. The staff have been unfailingly able, friendly and helpful, and likewise the adjoining optometrists and their staff. Im a very active wildlife photographer at 78 which means that I can lose and accidentally break glasses with some regularity, despite having them (supposedly) always around my neck. Lenscrafters unfailingly provides great reductions in price for replacements as well as excellent lenses and a wide variety of frames.

Horrible experience on what should be an easy fix. Asked to replace the nose pads on a pair of glasses (made by a different LenCrafters) and was refused service. People there are rude, inconsiderate. If you go there, be aware that after you paid for your glasses, youre on your own.

Walked in to get my broken glasses fixed, since I got them at lenscrafters, they fixed them for free. Everyone I met was very kind.

I was out of town and needed contacts. They gave me a free trial and had my box the next day. Lifesavers!
