In the past had good experiences here with doctors who listened to me with regard to knowing my symptoms, knowing what medications work for me, and were more than happy to write me an Rx based upon my input. The staff at the front desk and nurses have always been and continue to be very nice. BUT had a terrible experience recently with "Dr. Tom" who was patronizing, did not listen to me, and basically gave me a worthless Rx that is not even really specified for sinus infections which is what I had (and still have three weeks later after seven days of crappy antibiotics) because he didnt want to give me any antibiotics at all and only did because I refused to take no for an answer due to knowing my symptoms and my husband having the same thing that needed antibiotics to resolve. I had travel coming up, and was going to be around small children with compromised immune systems and he still didnt seem to care. Not to mention the thing that creates antibiotic resistance is people who do not finish courses of antibiotics, or who remain sick for long periods of time allowing the bacteria to mutate. This clinic seems to be on a pointless crusade to stop the newest manufactured medical crisis of "antibiotic resistance" by refusing to prescribe things, telling you to wait a week to ten days, then call back to get an Rx later. This is ridiculous. They also lie and tell you that you can just call later to get an Rx if your symptoms dont improve. Then, when you call, they tell you that you have to come back in because they would NEVER prescribe something without seeing you. Just a scam to collect more copays. I recommend going to the MedExpress on the corner of Romence and Westnedge. They had a very professional staff who were kind, listened to what I had to say about my condition, and were respectful of me and my time. The Dr. there treated me like a person, not like a subhuman who never passed high school biology.

Ive been to this location for two seperate issues. The first was for stitches and most recently the second was for stomach pain. Both times I thought the staff was friendly and I was in and out. The reason I am leaving a rating today is to advise people to stay away for any type of issues that might need blood-work. They can do urine here, but not blood testing. I had abdominal and lower back pain but was treated for an infection based off my symptoms since my urine was clean. I was prescribed an antibiotic and was sent on my way. 2 days later Im in the ER with only 16% of my kidneys functioning. Apparently I was dehydrated and had gastritis, not an infection. The prescription caused my kidneys to almost shut down. After 3 days in the hospital I was able to come home to continue to heal. I was between doctors and was forced to do the next best thing thinking it was urgent care and not the ER, I was wrong. If you need a quick stop for stitches or help with an issue that is clearly treatable this place should be fine. If you have anything going on inside your body or think you might need blood-work go someplace else.

Very poor experience. Called prior to going and explained clearly our needs for getting a form filled out (self reporting form, less involved then a sports physical form which is more extensive self reporting form). Was assured they could help us with or need. Went in, showed the desk the form, explained purpose of visit and was again assured no problem they can do this. Waited 2 1/2 hours, saw the provider who said they dont fill out the form. Despite explaining we were told x 2 by staff very clearly sayng they provided the service and waiting close to 3 hours no apology whatsoever offered. They really need to get their act together and accurately tell patients what they do and dont do and have the basic decency to offer an apology when they waste patients time. Also might be a nice touch if they arent playing breaking bad and other types of shows like that at what is suppose to be a family friendly clinic. Consider taking your business elsewhere.

My daughter started coughing the night before and began to throw up in the morning. She threw up about 4 times so I took her in to Hometown to see if we could calm her stomach. The doctor came in saying it was ominous (at first I thought he was kidding - he hadnt even looked at her) and began to say that death is part of life and how dehydration can cause you not to wake up and so and so on... His demeanor, as I took it, was that of giving someone news they were going to die. He told me to take her to the hospital, which I of course did. On the way she was saying she still wanted to do things in life and I frantically kept her awake (she hardly slept the night before.) The Staff at Bronson took care of her and said she was a little dehydrated but was fine. Treated her tummy and cough. She is 8 1/2 years old. She thought (and I thought) she was going to die. Never again will I go there. NEVER.

Hometown Urgent care has been great to our family. Always helped in a caring manner. If you frequent the place you will see the same few faces. We actually prefer the hometown urgent care(shaver ed) to any of our own doctor offices. We really love the docs there. They staff is always great. They really do not undermine your situation or pain. They dont try to charge your insurance(or pocket) for things that could had been resolved in first visit. They even try to see you right away if youve been in same week for same illness /injury. Thanks Hometown Urgent care for being fair in medical treatment and prices. Not charging ludicrous amount of $ to be seen or receive services to get you well. Seriously less time consuming, less expensive and better care then doctors most doctor office. They have been a lifesaver to our family and hopefully could be for yours too.

For feeling as sick as I was, this was a great experience. Everyone was very friendly & helpful. I felt really silly going in for a cold but they didnt make me feel the least bit silly. I got some excellent advice about cold medications too. They called in an antibiotic for me & sent me on my way with suggestions to try to make me comfortable until the antibiotics kicked in. My wait time was minimal. I went in on Monday & they called me on New Years Day to see how I was doing! You sure dont get that service too much these days. I would recommend Urgent Care, in Portage to everyone.

The PA was unprofessional and rude. Did not read the chart correctly and kept insisting my father had a arent placed in his heart last month. The Stent was placed in his femoral artery, she wouldnt listen and possibly couldnt read. My father had fallen on his knee, she said she wasnt comfortable treating him. Made us go to the ER. They did an x-ray and the knee cap was broken. She was rude and unreasonable. Will not let ANYONE I know go there and be treated in such a condescending manner.

We have used Hometown Urgent Care many times for various situations. I have always felt the issues were dealt with appropriately and in a professional manner. After reading some of the other reviews I would make the following suggestion to potential patients: use common sense. Do not expect to receive narcotics for pain and if you have a serious internal issue go to the ER where they have the proper equipment to do more thorough testing.
