Based on Dena Ms review, it seems that Dena M is a person who doesnt recognize when someone has done a nice deed for her and helped her out. I work at Plymouth Animal Hospital and am one of those snotty girls that Dena M refers to, and would like to give the correct facts on Dena Ms visit. Dena M visited our facility using an FOA certificate which is primarily a program used for low income people to be able to spay or neuter their pet at a low cost. Out of the money used to purchase the certificate, only a portion of it goes directly to the hospital. This portion is usually enough to cover only the cost of the procedure, allowing us to break even and continue the program. It is not subsidized in any other way. Dr. Broder is one of the very few area veterinarians that still participate in the program. When dogs get to about a 35 pound weight, it drives the cost of the surgery up, due to more anesthesia, supplies, and time to complete the procedure. The Friends of Animals organization understands this, and allows an additional non excessive fee on large dogs over 49 pounds to allow the hospital to cover those costs. Dena M claims that she didnt know this, yet it was clearly stated to her in 3 different places. The FOA website states this 49 pound limit before purchasing the certificate, the certificate Dena M presented to the hospital has it written on it, and the hospital anesthesia release that she signed also clearly states it. Dena M telling our staff that she didnt read any of those documents is not a valid excuse. Denas other excuse that her dog was only slightly over the weight limit, and the rules should not apply to her are also invalid. Dogs either are or are not over the weight restriction, and we apply the rules equally to everyone, otherwise it would be unfair. Dena M paid an additional $50, which added in with the certificate cost, comes out to $140 total - a very low cost for a quality spay on a large Golden Retriever mix, We priced the same spay at her regular vet, which came out to $250. Almost everyone using the FOA program thanks Dr. Broder and the staff for our help, but Dena M just acted in a rude and ungrateful manner. According to her records, the other $25 of Dena Ms bill was for extras such as an e-collar which she requested, and pain medicine which she claims she didnt receive. Finally, the rumor about doing surgery on unanesthesized animals is totally ridiculous. First, I would never work at a place that did something like that, and second it is impossible to do surgery on an animal unless it is perfectly still. You cant even do a teeth cleaning on an animal that is not fully anesthetized, much less major surgery. That particular rumor was started by a former employee who had to leave due to personal problems interfering at work. The employee worked at the hospital for many years (not 1 week), and out of his/her own personal issues and anger is trying to spread unfounded vicious rumors to hurt Dr. Broders reputation and business. The sad part is Dr. Broder even tried to get this employee help in dealing with those issues, before eventually having to remove that employee. I hope this clears up Dena Ms false accusations. We wish her and her dog e best, and in the future we hope she will come to realize when someone is doing something for her.

The vet is AWFUL at best! He makes it very clear in his demeanor & just his attitude that he doesnt care about your animal. Hes like what do you want & is clearly annoyed if you have any questions! Hes unprofessional & uncaring, hes there for a paycheck & thats it. He said yeah I can microchip your dog now no big deal, its just a larger needle. Takes our dog out of the room, our dog is screaming crying in pain NOT AGGRESSION. We leave the room & head towards our dog, were knocking on the door stop your done open the door give us our dog. Our dog is bleeding all over down his back & laying on the floor in the hall wont move. I had to carry him out of there bleeding. This isnt our first dog, we had our last dog microchipped from an amazing vet, NOT this A@@hole. That vet said Ill do the microchip while hes asleep too be fixed. If its that painful you shouldnt just be grabbing them & sticking that in them! Plus with his attitude I have NO DOUBT hes super rough & doesnt care what animal he hurts, TRUST ME! It was so bad when we went in the hall & were banging on the door his front desk person was already in the hall & wasnt happy with what was going on with our dog!!! This guys a DICK & A BUTCHER, he has to be cheaper because theres no other way youd even consider going there! My husband made it clear to the front were NOT coming back ever this was the worst experience & the vet was awful start to finish, the front desk staff is like we know, were so sorry!!!

When I moved into the Philadelphia area to find more opportunities in the Animal Care field, I also had to choose a new vet for my pets to go to. Since we absolutely loved our vet back home, this was going to be a very difficult decision. I began working in the Conshohocken area, and being in the pet-care field, I immediately became aware of Plymouth Animal Hospital. When I worked at the MontCo SPCA, Dr. Broder and his staff helped in the search for a cat that escaped the shelter building. I switched places of employment, and now manage a well known puppy-specialist store in the area. I am also an Animal Care Technician. To my surprise upon working there, my supervisor has been a long-time friend of Dr. Broder, and our establisment uses his services regularly for spay/neuter & repair surgeries, vaccinations and evaluations. Myself, my coworker and our building supervisor all use Plymouth Animal Hospital for regular check-ups and vaccines, and I have no problem recommending his services to my customers, as I plan to continue using him for my pets as well!

Not only are Dr Broders prices for services low cost but he is the most honest vet I have met. He will never charge you for something that is not needed (unlike Hickory Vet Hospital) He truly cares for his clients and patients. What other vet do you know that leaves their PERSONAL number for any and all after hours emergencies?! His staff has always been friendly and helpful as well. He listens to all your questions and concerns but be aware he has walk in hours only so it is important he keeps your appointment moving so each client waiting after you is seen and attended to. Do not be fooled by the bad reviews. Keep in mind he goes into the appointments alone so his number one concern is the safety of your pet, yourself and himself while doing the physical exam. He will be honest if he can not perform an exam on your pet due to being too aggressive. If he is unable to do a service (surgery, work up for a very ill pet, imagining) he will give you advice on where to go and what to do from there. Plymouth Animal Hospital is THE vet hospital to go to.

I had a spay certificate and when I went to pick up my dog they charged me an extra $75 because my dog was over 50lbs....I said " thats strange, how much does she weigh." the snotty girls at the desk said "she weighs 51 lbs" She was a 1 lb over and they charged me an extra $75 without telling me in advance....if I would have known that I would have NEVER took my dog here!!! Then to top it off, they send you home without even prescribing or asking if you want pain medicine. My dog just had her insides tore out and they didnt even give me something for her pain....Then I talked to someone after my incident who told me her mother worked here for a week and quit because she witnessed the vet neutering and spaying animals that werent fully out of it! Some dogs were still up!!! He should be investigated. DONT GO TO THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!
