You know I would feel much better if health professionals were there to help people in times of need. THIS place in particular is there to help kids and we find it very disturbing that when you call them 30 minutes prior to closing they tell us to go to URGENT CARE because they close in 30 minutes. This location is 5 minutes away and the Urgent Care is about 20. We had to drive past this office to get to Urgent Care and we were tickled to see that NOT A SINGLE CAR was in the parking lot. These employees were just hell bent at leaving at 5pm. That must be nice to leave work at such a punctual time. We used this office when we lived in the area and while visiting with family our 7 month old had an emergency. Who would be better to call than the doctors that were seeing our children not that long ago? That was a horrible idea - rather than receiving help and de-escalating the situation to help my wife calm down and know that everything would be okay they just tell us that we should go some place else because they close in 30 minutes. Wow, wouldve been nice to know you actually cared about our child. I mean the $800/mo. we pay in health insurance should guarantee the help we need whenever and wherever we WANT IT. Im sure if we made no money and were on government assistance you folks wouldve been jumping at the opportunity to help. Welcome to America 2016. If I woke up each and every day to be a medical professional I wouldnt be able to sleep at night knowing that I turn people away from getting my help when they need it and that to receive coverage you must either be in poverty or make enough money to cover EVERYONEs insurance that cant afford it. I DO NOT recommend this institution to anyone. They may appear friendly on the surface but deep inside if children were their top priority what you see above wouldnt have happened. I hope that nobody working here ever finds themselves in my position, it is terrifying to not know if your child will be okay and that the ONLY people out there qualified to help dont want to because it is 30 minutes before they are scheduled to get off work.

We only had a few appointments with them. We were never able to see the same doctor twice. I had a very hard time with continuity. I was new to the area and was initial ok with this (just trying to establish relationship) but the last appointment pretty much negated all others. I was supposed to have an appointment with one doctor and then when I arrived, I found out she was on vacation (they did not call or tell me this or ask to reschedule or ask if I wanted a different doctor - this was a well visit), and told I would be with someone I had not seen. The doctor then proceeded to criticize the care my children had received from their previous doctor (in our other state) and recommend other vaccinations that were not required by either state. When asked for further info, I was told that it was to prevent a particular strand of Hepatitis caused by poor sanitation among other things and she was surprised that my western state did not require this already "what with all of those immigrants." There were other remarks made that I felt were rather derogatory or just plain ignorant of not only a particular group of people (that I would consider racist) but also of where I was from. I had to spend the next several hours in conversations with my children that I did not want to do. I found at the least disrespectful and at the worst rude and racist. My children will never grace the doors again.

I have called Liberty on numerous occasions after hours and received excellent care. The on-call doctors are always available to help. Sometimes the answer we receive is "go to the hospital", but thats to be expected as doctors also have families. Other times theyre on and off the phone with us for extended periods of time checking up on our kids or seeing if various treatments are working. As for the in-office care, its top notch. Both of my children have been going to liberty since they were born. Both of my children also have special needs, and weve never had an issue getting referrals or being sent to the right places for specialists. When my kids are sick, theres always an appointment for them as long as we call early in the morning. My 4 year old daughter actually enjoys going to the doctor, and frequently tells me she wants to be a doctor "like doctor Frankel" when she grows up. She had MRSA recently and Amy Paulino made the visit almost painless. My daughter left with a lollipop, a smile, and within a few days, a completely healed MRSA infection. Lori Kropfelder remembers every detail about my children as we see her the most. The kids are comfortable, and I am as well. Liberty Pediatrics is absolutely our "home" in pediatric care, and I would recommend them to anyone.

Wonderful I went here with my one year old because I heard so many good things from friends and family. The staff is made up of all MDs and one NP. We have dealt with all of them and they are all very competent and always do what is in my sons best interest. The office is clean, new and modern. Staff are all amazing. I am a clinician and very very picky about were I go for medical care for my family and I. This place is by far one of the best!

I have been taking my daughter to Liberty Pediatrics since she was born, 3 years ago. Dr. Hickey and Dr. Kottra are hands down the best Pediatricians in the area. From the helpful front office staff, to the bubbles and murals on the wall, this office will make your child (and you) feel completely at ease. I drive 30-45 minutes from Frederick to see them. The drive is definetly worth it :-)

Being that I called and left not 1 BUT 2 emergency messages relative to my 9 week old daughter and never got a call back, I would highly recommend taking your baby elsewhere. Horrifically she passed away 16 hours later.

We were referred to Dr. Hickey from a friend about 7 years ago and both he and his associates have been great! Dr. Hickey is a superb diagnostician and is always able to cheer up my son when he doesnt feel well.

It is OK, they just never seem to be open when you need them the most like on Saturdays after sports.
