I do not recommond this Doctor because of two incidents. The first incident that made me question the practice is that when the receptionist called me to remind me of the fourth month routine check up appointmnet for my daughter she lightly mentioned that they dont take her insurance. This was my daughters 6th visit so I was a little confused. The receptionist were not able to give me any explanation why they dont take it anymore or why they did not let me know sooner to fix it. So, I was very annoyed and I asked how much it will cost to pay out of pocket. This is when it all seemed fishy because even though it was just a check up and some shots, she couldnt give me the price. she kept telling me its a minimum of $150. I keep telling her I dont care about the minimum I want to know the maximum. She finally called back and gave me the price after 4 phone conversations and I hang up on her telling her Im coming and I am only bringing $150. But the bigger reason I decided to change a doctor is when I went for the next visit, 6th months. my daughter needed 6 shots at this age and the doctor simply told me that "OH! WE DONT HAVE ANY OF THE SHOTS SO TAKE HER TO THE FREE COUNTY VACCINE CLINIC". I couldnt believe it. Just like that. of course I asked "what do you mean you dont have the vaccines"? She was like oh we get it delivered once a year and we are late now bla bla bla...... I was furious and told them no need to set appointment for the next visit cause my daughter wont be back.

My eldest child is 4+, and we met with Dr. Stevens before she was born as an interview appointment. She had been recommended to us by my husbands PCP who uses her for his own child. We were anxious, first-time parents and initially found the many visits overwhelming and nerve-wracking. However, in time as we settled into parenting and the relationship that was growing with the doctor, we came to see that she is a great doctor who takes time when needed to explain things or listen to questions. We now have 3 children and all of them love to go to see her. Dr. Stevens is very warm, very personable and cheery, and seems to genuinely care about her patients. We moved 10 miles west, to Vienna, but have stuck with her because we like the relationship and we think she has excellent clinical skills. I particularly chose her because we like the small, personable practice. Since she is a solo-practitioner, we sometimes end up waiting awhile if someone ahead of us is presenting with a complicated problem. But we have been that patient before, and we see it as part of the deal with a solo doc. Having one doc throughout our kids many visits to the doctor is so helpful to really come to know the child and the family. We would recommend her highly (and we do!) to our friends.

Has been my daughters pediatrician for last 5 years. She will definitely make sure your kid has all their shots. Personable, upbeat, and makes the time to provide direct understandable communication to parents (in general will call you back within 24 hours). Miracle of miracles; has a way of speaking to teenagers on a level that not only do they listen, but actually accept her advice.

All 3 of my kids go to her and they love her. The staff there really go above and beyond. Dr Stevens even went so far as to help my eldest son with help regarding bullying at his school.
