I came in with severe left abdominal and lower back pain. Ive passed kidney stones before, Im aware I have 7 that range in size up to 1/2". After being here for 5 excruciating hours I was told I would be admitted to "monitor the swelling in my kidney" but that "theres no stones". An hour after being brought to my room I used the bathroom, and peed out 2 kidney stones about 1.5-2cm in size. Through a 0.6cm urethra. And guess what they gave me for pain. Tylenol. ***UPDATE*** The day after being admitted, I wasnt given any antibiotics, after having my pee trapped in my kidney for over 6 hours due to the kidney stones. I was accused of smoking in my room (never did) it wasnt even smoky in the room. Wasnt allowed to keep my door closed and have privacy. After asking to have my IV unhooked to take a shower, it took my nurse 30 mins to come unhook it, and then no one came to tape it up and give me a towel. I had reached my wits end by 3 pm, after being there for 20 hours and receiving no treatment. No doctors had even come to see me by this time. My nurse had only made an appearance once to unhook my IV. Never came to empty the hat I had to pee in. Never came in when my IV drip stopped working. They received a confirmation fax from John Brooks at 11:11 am for my methadone prescription. Its now 3 pm and they hadnt given me my dose still. When I first asked the nurse practitioner about it (1 pm) she had denied they had even gotten a confirmation fax. She also said I needed to be seen by THEIR OB/GYN first, before getting my methadone. (It needed to be okayed by an OB/GYN to take it. Even though I receive it every day at JB with no problem) They were literally withholding my methadone from me (10 weeks pregnant) until I saw their urologist and OB/GYN. And then the nurse practitioner had the nerve to tell me that by leaving it meant the "death of my baby" ironic. Even if I dont feel any withdrawal symptoms, the baby does. Without my daily dose the baby will die from withdrawal. But they obviously didnt care about that. They just wanted to get as much money as possible from my insurance company. When I wanted to leave the nurse practitioner wouldnt allow me to be discharged (I needed the paperwork for my OB/GYN, urologist and John Brooks). After leaving I went to Shore hospital. They had no problem giving me antibiotics, actually found ANOTHER kidney stone in an ultrasound, gave me my dose of methadone before even getting confirmation back from John Brooks (I assume they drug tested my urine to confirm I wasnt lying), and consulted a urologist about my kidney swelling and the stone. They did more in the 3 hours I was there, than this joke of a hospital could do in over 20 hours.

My father went into the emergency room peeing dark blood and blood clots and severely anemic. He was admitted and stayed for 7 days. He laid there with a catheter crying in pain trying to pass blood clots through the tube (No pain meds were ever offered or given) he laid there on a CBI irrigation for 7 days. Dr.s and staff lied to us stating they did not know why he was bleeding but felt safe to say that the irrigation will stop the bleeding and he can follow up with a doctor after his release. for 7 days my father never ate. He lost a lot of weight. this was because everyday the staff would say you cannot eat because you are having a cystoscopy on your bladder. Each day kept being moved because "the operating room was full" or the Dr. was busy. Day 6 my father had the cystoscopy and colonoscopy done by Dr. Perry of Jersey Urology Group, she had been doing surgeries since 6am and she got to my father around 9, which I thought was an awful idea because she had been working ALL DAY and I felt something would be missed and boy was I right. My father was stage 4 Bladder Cancer, prostate cancer, and cancer all through his pelvic nodes. ACMC never told us, Dr. Perry never told us. She clearly saw my father had cancer and no one told him, instead he was told he had a small cyst and would have to stay on CBI irrigation for another day and the bleeding should stop and he can follow up with a Dr. and as soon as his blood turned from dark red to champagne colored he was thrown out. 4 days later we followed up with Jersey Urology ACMCs affiliate where another Dr. who was unaware we didnt know it was cancer, blurted it out conversation causing my dad to collapse. They attempted to scrap out a stage 4 tumor, these are the Doctors ACMC partners with....Yes. they didnt even know he had prostate cancer! We took our services to MD Anderson. Our lives will never be the same. Dont bring your loved ones here. They lie, waste your time, and energy then charge medicare over $96,000 for nothing. They did my father dirty. I absolutely despise this hospital! Who are they paying to keep them out of the papers? Please listen to me, this is no joke we are hurting over this. Stay away from this hospital.

Ive been a patient of Shore Medical Center for years. Care was always great. Staff is great. Never problems with them. Last year August 2015 I had to have an angioplasty with three stents. Shore couldnt perform the surgery so they transferred me to ARMC.. my experience there was less than satisfactory. The surgery went well as my doctors group did it. Nursing care was lacking. I dont usually ask for much when Im in the hospital but here if I asked for something I got it hours later or not at all. I understand nurses are busy but keep a notebook so you dont forget a patient. When I was released the hospital sent a report to my doctor. The report was incorrect. It didnt account for the three stents and contradicted itself on different pages. Thankfully my doctor caught it. If that isnt enough 14 months later I get a letter from a collection agency telling me I owe $1260.00. I had no idea I owed anything to them. Never received a bill, a past due notice, a phone call....nothing. I called the hospital billing dept and spoke to someone about it. I was told that there was a portion of the bill that my secondary insurance company didnt cover. I asked how many bills they sent me. They said a couple. I received none. I asked if they contacted the insurance and they told me they did and no one would get back to them. So I called the insurance company and it was resolved in less than 5 minutes. Of course the hospital was paid the full amount and the check was cashed by the hospital. They provided me with the check number and date it was cashed. What they said about the insurance company not responding to them, I completed in 5 minutes. After all of this I dont believe they ever sent me any bills and like everything else, they are just sloppy. Im still waiting for the lady I spoke to to call me back so I can explain this to her. Shore Medical Center has it all over this place. My call was returned a few hours later and Oh! guess what? They found the check! It took them 14 months and a call to a collection agency to do what I did in 5 minutes. They cleared my account. Why couldnt they find the check 14 months ago? Sloppy.
