ive found only one [major] minus with this facility - parking...its not free despite the receptionists at some departments offering stamped receipts for fee-free parking...i feel that outpatients at least, should be able to park for free..im a [c5-7] quadriplegic since 1990 and unemployed for many years, living off ssdi income which barely covers my basic bills and cost of living so every dollar literally counts... my rating and review pertains to this hospitals outpatient wound care center, although i did have to spend about 4 days there as an outpatient following surgery.....by the time i have come to this place, ive had a very deep and advanced stage 4 pressure ulcer [aka bed sore] on my hip bone, and bad bone infection as a result, which was - unsuccessfully - being treated at the englewood hospitals wound care center for about 10 months previously....the surgeons at the englewood place, didnt want to have nothing to do with performing the urgently neccessary surgery on me, unless id quit smoking...i tried very hard but despite even throwing away $300 on a supposedly 90% effective treatment, i couldnt...been a fulltime smoker since age of 12 [im now 45] and it is what it is, wish i could....plus the only surgeon at englewood who speciializes in such surgeries and is quitesuccessful, doesnt accept medicare/medicaid and thats my only source of medical insurance......anyway, when i first walked...errr, excuse me - rolled, into the morristown hospitals wcc, i was already pretty much resigned to the fact that ill get sepsis within a few weeks and then it will be a rather painful, drawn out end for a year or two, for me... however, the doctor who evaluates patients condition at the wcc saw that no delay could be afforded and got me on an operating table literally within days oof my first visit here...and tthe surgeon who operated on me not only accepted my medicare/medicaid, he did a truly BEAUTIFUL job of tthis very difficult surgery..every visiting nurse experienced with wound carre, who came to treat my wounds dressing changes for a couple of weeks after, remarked so and all were truly impressed...they ssaw the wound prior to surgery and after, and having seen hundreds of such, they know... the entire staff at the wcc - starting with the receptionists, through nurses, to physicians - is very professional and whats also very important - pleasantly disposed....i dont believve that one is allowed to list names in these reviews so i wont lest my positive revview geets deleted, but i wish i could at least list the names of my surgeon most of all, and thhe doctor who coordinated the decision to allow me to undergo it,, and in a superfast manner at that... thank you...

Horrible emergency room staff! The nurses need to be educated on bedside manner! they hire 4 year university grads that know more about policy than patient care. Im in the profession so I can judge. I was helping my friend when both of her 89 year old parents were in the er. Her father a dignified scientist asked to urinate standing up. the RN WAS ON ONE SIDE MY GF ON THE OTHER as he clutched his walker. He said i feel unsteadt. the RN rudely and nastily remarked " sorry im not a big strong man." I was stunned and asked " are you an RN? She said yes. I looked at her and said " the way you just spoke to that patient was totally inapropriate!" She tried to back up with excuses. My gf said im glad you said something. Next i was in the ER with a friend who developeda severe infection with pustles on her arm from the gym mats. it spread fast so i said lets get you to the er. The physicians assistant rubbed the entire arm with the pustules wearing gloves, she then KEPT THE GLOVES ON, RAN THEM DOWN HER STETHESCOPE device and listened to my gfs lungs. All i was thinking is, my God! she just contaminated her stethiscope and can now spread that germ and infective agent to every patient she examines! As a PA she should be aware of infection protocols! Next i was in the er after a fall. my nurse was rude as hell. I delayed getting a test so i could talk to the md about its risks. i had to use the bathroom. sh said No! after three hours i asked when i might use the bathroom and she said well " you delayed the test now you have to wait!" " I said what am i being punished? for my right to talk to the doctor." she tried to back it up. " no not at all" but her sneer told me all i needed to know. finaaly i couldnt take it anymore i beeged for a bedpan. she said "im busy with other patients!" ( I had been there 7 hours so far) .I said get me an aide. A snotty aide came and threw a bedpan on my bed. I could barely go. and then i noticed she left no tissue or hand wipes!!! what the hell kind of staff do they train here? I wound up with bad injuries in my pelvis but this moron nurse didnt put two n two together to see the connection. Who in hell hires and trains these incompetent staff? I have excellent insurance too. meanwhile i hear them doting over a foreign coup,e next to me who they gush o er saying we will put you on charity care and get a translator." I was floored. lastly my gfs son was admitted for an injury he begged to use the toilet. they never came to help him over 8 hours and he pooped his pants! then the nurse was pissed! My God the state of healthcare in the country is tanking! Wait till you get a load of socialized medicine! think this is bad! God save us.

When I broke my finger, this was the closest hospital so off I went. While everyone was very nice and polite, this was not a good experience for me. There are 2 emergency rooms: one adult, one pediatric. Upon arrival, I was directed to the pediatric ER because "there is less of a wait there". I knew my broken finger was pretty small potatoes in the grand scheme of things and was prepared to wait, so this news was well-received. I did wait for quite a long time but again, I know my broken finger isnt the highest priority. What happened next however, is completely unacceptable. Eventually, I was ushered into the treatment area, only to be told there were no available rooms (beds?) and I would have to wait in another waiting room. It was a small room inside the ER proper and being in the pediatric ER, littered with toys and such. It smelled really bad in there. I quickly realized that the smell was coming from a dirty diaper in the trash can in the corner. I tried to remember that I was in peds, so these things can happen, but it was pretty foul. I expected to be moved to an appropriate treatment area, but the hospital had other ideas. I was seen by the nurse and doctor in that disgusting, dirty, stinky waiting room. I was never given a bed. The doctor barely crossed the threshold of the waiting room and treated me with one foot out the door. I was told that the hand specialist would have to be paged for a consult regarding my finger. After another long wait, the doctor reemerged to tell me the specialist wasnt answering his pages. So he discharged me. From a feces-infested, filthy waiting room without the consult that he said I needed. How is this appropriate?! Shortly after my visit, I began receiving multiple calls at odd hours of the day from someone purporting to be from the hospital charity or whatever trying to get money out of me. Needless to say, I didnt give them a penny.
