NEVER AGAIN. One star was the lowest I could give it. I bought a dog and took all its paperwork to combs and asked what shots he still needed. They told me all he needed was rabies and boardatello so we got the rabies shot but we never planned to board him so we skipped the boardatello. THEY TOLD ME ALL HIS SHOTS LOOKED GOOD. Barely over a month later he was throwing up and super sick so I took him to a different vet and found out he had PARVO. A super deadly dog disease. The new vet looked over the paperwork I SHOWED COMBS and they said the shots were no good because they were done too early and therefor ineffective. COMBS SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME THAT. Three days of my dog staying at the vet with IVs, cones of shame and so many shots we lost count and he didnt make it. He was 4 months and 18 days old. This could have been prevented. I called combs and the lady said she remembered my dog but they had no record of us coming in or a copy of his paperwork. Theres the first thing that went wrong. The lady I showed didnt make a copy and WHY WAS THERE NO RECORD OF MY DOG? Then she says her manager will call me back. Few hours later they have my entire record and theres suddenly a note that says they told me he needed distemper (the Parvo shot). NOT TRUE. It was only to cover themselves. I do NOT recommend this place. TERRIBLE.

I have been taking my dogs to Combs for the past 10 years and really love them! We have had several issues with Sadie... they have been prompt and very kind with every visit. The vets and techs alike are all wonderful, kind people - and they have certainly taken good care of my dogs! I have dropped my rating down to 4 stars, however, because there is no on call service after hours. It is so traumatic to have a potential like threatening occurrence/accident with your pet only to find out you have to drive 1 1/2 hours to the north side of Indianapolis for help. Thankfully I have never had to do this, but several people I know have in the past, and it is such a stressful situation. I will say, though: Combs does have days throughout the week with late operating hours, which has saved me (and Sadie!) a couple of times! I would highly recommend Combs to anyone... I am so grateful for all of the help and good care. I had considered switching vets after they started to no after hours service, but I just felt as though this one con did not outweigh all of the pros.

We took our kitten to Combs Veterinary Clinic for her first vet visit and our dog for his annual visit a few weeks ago. Our bill was $189. I was told that I had to bring my kitten back in three weeks for a booster to one vaccine she received. I brought my kitten back on Saturday and I was shocked with another bill of $98. On the second bill there was a charge of $38 for a "yearly exam" for her booster shot. When I called today to ask why I paid for two "yearly" exams within thee weeks. The receptionist said that that is the policy of the clinic, to examine the pet again before the booster. I suggested that it would be a better practice to let customers know that they will have to have another checkup at the booster appointment. In my opinion this is not an honest practice and I will be looking for a new vet.

My wife and I used Combs as our vet for the last 5 years, for our two dogs, Chisel and Chelsea. Honestly, weve been to other vets in town, but now that weve found Combs, were never leaving. The vets are animal lovers, which is a plus and they are also very in touch with the latest technology for diagnosis, treatment and cure. Its a complete Veterinary hospital with all of the bells and whistles that one would expect in a veterinary hospital. It also includes a boarding service downstairs. Their staff is very courteous and attentive to the needs of the animals and quick to respond to any questions we have. Were very fortunate to have an experienced, caring veterinary service right here in Bloomington!

I have been going to Combs for over 10 years. Until it was sold, it was second to none. Some vets came and went, but a few remained that were reliable and very good at what they do. I have a dog that is on pills that she MUST have. I was refused those pills because I would not take her in for an annual exam. As most people know, these are not really necessary. They are a good idea, but not necessary. They would rather jeopardize the health of my dog than make sure she is taken care of. Afte 10+ years I am done being a client. Bloomington Veterinary clinic will be their new home from now on!

My pets have been cared for by Combs Veterinary for over 8 years. Always helpful, always kind, always 100% top notch care. This was especially driven home to me this summer when we adopted kitten #3 from the local shelter. Adopted late Friday afternoon, I knew by Sunday evening that he was very ill. Monday morning I called as soon as they opened and we were in seeing the Doctor 30 minutes later. Both Doctor and pet nurse were helpful in teaching us to force feed our very ill baby and soon he was up and on his feet. I recommend Combs for all your pet health needs!

We are always very happy when we visit Combs with any of our pets. We have a puppy that is 1-year old this month whom we are seeing them for currently. They always offer us great advice, they are great with children and our puppy. The staff including the office staff is friendly, quick, and knowledgeable. They always answer any questions that we have. The Vets are gentle and thorough with our pets and we have never had a bad experience! They also offer dog grooming at reasonable rates and it is quick and easy to get an appointment most of the time.

We have been very happy with Combs Veterinary Clinic. Appointment scheduling is easy, wait times are reasonable, and the staff are all very personable and caring. We have guinea pigs and have been very happy that the vet is so knowledgeable with their care-especially with the more complicated cases. We also REALLY appreciate the late clinic hours on Monday. I would recommend Combs Vet to anyone. It is clear that everyone-receptionists, technicians, assistants, vets-at the clinic loves what they do and cares about the animal and owner.

Tonya Pruett was one of the nicest vets my Aussie Chance and I have ever seen. Chance was a little apprehensive about Tonya at first, as he gets a bit frightened at the vet. Tonya got down to his level and reassured him and gained his trust before examining him. Tonya was kind, understanding, loving and patient and she took the time to do it right. I would highly recommend Combs to anyone. Thank you for caring as much about Chances health as I do.

The staff at Combs Veterinary Clinic really care about the animals that they treat. A few months ago, they went above and beyond when our cat was sick, staying late to perform an emergency surgery when we were unable to find another local veterinarian able to do the operation. We always trust the care our pets get at Combs, and they go above and beyond to put our animals at ease, even when they are a little nervous about going to the vet.
