I wouldnt even give this place 1 star. Please dont take your pets here!!!!!!! 2 weeks ago my border terrior mix decided to eat part of her toy which clogged her intestine causing an inffection wich made her have loose stools and vomiting. She became etremely dehydrated. I sent her to the ER in La Mesa the first night. They gave her an IV and advised she stay over night. Not thinking it was that serious i took her home and in the morning she seemed really weak and wouldnt eat. I took her to the Lemon Grove pet hospital where ive taken her the past couple years for her shots since i live in the area. I had the ER from the night before faxthem her records. I arrived 5 minutes before they opened only to find out that the doctor was running late. He finally showed up after me waiting for nearly 45 minutes. When the doctor finally saw my dog he insisted i get Xrays to find out the problem. I agreed and had to pay a whopping $700. I waited patiently at my home untill they called me to come in for the results. When i got there i was nervous but the staff was so unorganized they made me wait an additional 20 minutes in the lobby then sent me to a room where i waited another 15 minutes. Then the doctor comes in and says"hold on somthing else came up ill be right back" and leaves me in there for another 10 minutes! Finally he comes back with a book and my dogs xrays. He has to read his book to review the xrays because he doesnt know what hes doing! Then he tells me my dogs needs immediate surgery that wil cost me $1500 or i should put her down before she gets worse. I start crying and he says sorry for your loss, hands me a box of kleenix and says "ill be right back with your estimate." The guy was clearly cold, heartless and out for the money. In a panic i got so upset that he just left me there waiting with this news. I left the room, asked for my dog and the xrays i had paid $700 for and took them to La Fuerte Hospital in La Mesa. I had called them hysterical not knowing what to do after i had given LG vet hospital the last of my money. They agreed to put me on a payment plan even though my credit idnt the best. The doctor there was very professional and attentive to mine and my dogs needs. He told me she didnt need to be operated on and if i would have let the doctor in LG operate my dog that day theres no way she would have made it in the condition she was in. Now 3 weeks later my dog is good as new. At the end she passed the piece of her toy that was stuck in her intestine, and to this day shes still finishing 6 different meds but she survived. I will forever stick to this current doctor. I also plan on contacting the better busines burea about the LG vet. in the mean time i warn you dont take your pets to this vet, he doesnt care about them he just wants your money.

I am the owner of Roxy, an all white boxer/pit mix whom is disabled by being Deaf. We had her fixed by the vet at Lemon Grove Veterinary Hospital. On November 26th 2014 we had her appointment to have the sutures removed from her stomach. We arrived on time at 12pm, prior to the appointment we were asked to put one of their muzzels on her and to show early. We did as asked and the issue was that Roxy did not want to lay down. Roxy also showed extreme fear of the vet assistants present. The assistants then asked for us just to bring her back and they can just handle her back there. We followed back with them and as soon as the Vet himself showed up, he already seemed irritated and told us we would have to go. I explained she would be more comfortable with me there at least and he insisted we leave. As soon as we made it into the lobby door way we all heard an extremely loud scream coming from Roxy followed by a loud thud sound like she was hit... my brother went to look under the door but could not see anything. I then walked to the desk to look down the hall and there I saw the Vet who I just entrusted my dog too physically kick my dog on her right side and lift her off the ground by a rope he had around her neck. I screamed at him asking what He was doing. The vet then responded, " you didnt see anything, your mistaken"... This is while hes now trying to walk her to me. I then informed him that I physically saw him and that if he doesnt know how to handle animals that he has no business being a vet. Keep kept repeating himself as I called the police for assistance. This man is a danger to animals and his assistants who stood by and watched are no better. I would like this man to be recognized as the monster he is... he should have his license revoked and he should never be allowed around animals of any type.. He has no heart if he was so easily able to abuse my dog whom is an amazing dog and loves to love, she didnt deserve the brutality she received from this so called Veterinarian.

Dont judge a book by its cover. Despite the location and semi rugged exterior, Dr. Gowda and his team are top notch. - Dr. Gowda is straight up and breaks everything down. - The teams service is exceptional. Prompt with phone calls, ready with answers, follow up calls and they truely show compassion for animals. Its not just about money, at least I hope its not in entirety. - The rates are very competitive. Those without pet insurance and have limited means, try them out. I scheduled my 9 year old Dauchsands Teeth cleaning and extractions. My primary vet wanted over $2,000 for the procedure and that was a procedure my insurance does not cover. I found Dr. Gowda through a friend and she has nothing but postive things to say. That sealed the deal for me. All in the procedure cost well over $600 for my case (varies depending on breed and condition). I dropped my dog off in the morning and left her there all day while I was at work. They took care of her and performed the procedure under anethsia without any issues. I picked up my drowsy dog after work and she bounced back the next day. 3 weeks later, my same dog was attacked by a pitbul and suffered deep lacerations on her back neck. It was 10 minutes to closing time for Dr. Gowda, but he and his team stayed over 2 hours to tend to my dog. It required another case of anethsia and stitches. =( My dog is a trooper to endure this type of trama. Both case Dr Gowda and team performed as expected. They provide clear and concise post operation instruction for care and medication administration. 5 stars!

Ive been coming to this vet office for about almost 5 years now prior to new management. Never had any issues with my cats coming to see Dr. Gowda. He always recommends the best medicine for my cats and very informative about complications that may arise from playing the "wait and see game" and not taking direct action of the medical diagnosis or treatment options. This always helps me make the better decision for the health of my cats. One of my cats Ive struggled for 2 yrs to fix his urinary problem so Dr. Gowda suggested radiographs be taken to make sure no stones were present and we did a urine analysis in case nothing showed up on the X-rays. Radiographs showed no signs of stones but without the urine analysis we would have never known it was crystals. The fact that he highly recommended both to ensure there was no wasted time helped, stones may have required surgery so we ruled that out first and sent the urine to the lab for testing. So we treated the crystals and changed my cats diet and now he doesnt struggle to urinate and there is not tint of blood anymore. So I wouldnt believe these bad reviews, he is always looking at my records and asking about my other cats even if they are not present for an examination. Really treats the animals with concern, and understanding the bond between client and patient has enabled Dr. Gowda to take great care and consideration for his patients. Prices are reasonable and he is always willing to help walk in customers without appointment, Ive had to do that in emergency situations sometimes.
