Well my baby girl Phaedra is in doggy heaven now. I took her into Deason Animal Hospital on Monday and they diagnosed her with parvo. (Id just like to say that from the beginning I told them Id rather put her down than her be in pain of they thought she didnt have a chance or would be in to much pain.) I was there everyday on lunch and after work to see her and everyday Dr. Appel and the vet tech Lisa were telling me, "Yeah shes getting better but she cant go home yet." On Saturday her fever had gone down and she was no longer lethargic or with Diarrhea so they told me, "She can probably be home by Monday or Tuesday." On Sunday morning Dr. Scott called and told me that she was having really bloody Diarrhea which was a step back and that she was, "By no means out of the woods." (Which is different than what the other 2 girls had been telling me) on Monday the girls said it was still bloody but that it wasnt really a big deal because it was the process of parvo. I asked if she was in pain because I would rather put her down than just have her there hurting prolonging her death and pain and they told me no. On Tuesday evening they called me and told me that she would probably be ready to go home on Wednesday but they would let me know the next day for sure. When I went in today on my lunch they asked if I was ready to pick her up and said she was good to go. So after work I went and bought her a new collar and leash and blankets so she would be fresh. I went to the vet and they said "shes all ready to go!" They handed me her leash and said I could go. She was so skinny from all the weight she had lost and was walking sideways stumbling over her own feet but they said she just needed to gain some weight and get some TLC. They didnt even offer to help me get her in the car (shes a great dane mind you and I have a ford escape thats kinda high off the ground) I had to try to help her push herself onto the floor of the backseat and then help her up onto the back seat. We made the 25 minute drive home where she came and loved on her grandma (my mom) and kissed grandpa with licks (my dad) and laid her head on his for a good few minutes before she fell on the floor and started heaving. Right away I called Deasons and they said "oh sorry to hear that if youd like to bring her back in that is on you but well have to start a new bill for you (I just paid them $900 and no compassion in their voice) and if you bring her in after 8 well have to charge you a past hour charge, we can take a message for the vet who helped you but shes not in right now and wont be back for an hour but you can see another vet if you want." Well OKAY. THANKS ALOT. When I walked back into the livingroom she was standing by the door so I opened it so she could walk out. She walked down the steps and collapsed on the grass where after about 3 minutes she fought for her last breaths and passed in my moms arms. Me and my parents both are hurting bad from this and my boy Theseus as well. He was so happy when he smelled her on me and his butt went crazy with wags. I just dont understand how they could of let her be in pain like that and let her continue to be that way and then release her like that. She was my baby and my parents grand baby. Our dogs are family to us and we would never do this to a person. This is the first and last time I will EVER take a pet to Deasons. It hurts us even more because she was gasping for air here in our arms and she didnt deserve to go that way. Thanks Deason. Thanks a lot. For prolonging her suffering for money.

I called to find out pricing on medical attention for my dog. I was told that it would be between $500 to $1,000, because it is what they tell everyone, before they actually see the animal. O.K. Seemed a little steep, so I asked Mrs. Deason for the opportunity to speak with Doctor Deason, the owner, so as to work out a payment plan or discount, being involved in part time missionary work. I was told in no uncertain terms, that they already help their church, and that I should not use God to milk people. What kind of thing is THAT to say? Maybe I should have told him the longer version. I just lost my aged mom, had a serious accident soon after and my wife and I are just getting back on our feet. I am giving this a 2, because as a Christian who loves the Lord deeply, 1 would be too strong, although I am very hurt and offended. I have been through a lot and I know God loves me. This review does not reflect physician competence. Public relations is what is being discussed here. For economics, one should never be treated as a lesser human being nor disrespectfully in any way.

This is by far the best animal hospital in the state of texas and maybe even the US. My best friend and baby of almost 9 years spent the last days of her life here surrounded by love and support. Callie was a pit bull and blue lacey mix. This was the only animal hospital i felt safe at and she came here for everything for the past 9 years. After being diagnosed with Evans Syndrome both Dr. Shermans and all of the staff did their best and were very comforting in doing everything we could. They let me spend hours with her while she underwent treatment. Even up till the end they let me hold her in a room with just us so we didnt have to hurt infront of everyone. I could not have asked for a better support team that Deason Animal Hopital provided. Thank you and for those who are crazy animal parents like me take it from the bottom of my heart that they are the best with our loved ones.

I had taken my cat (we nicknamed her Mama Cat cause she had kittens a few months ago) to the vet so she could get spayed and have her nails trimmed. I find out the next day that these IDIOTS screwed up all our information. 1. They called Mama Cat "kitty" 2. They thought she was 4 months old...when she is obviously a grown cat who had kittens several months ago. 3. They thought I lived in Shurtz or wherever instead of Floresville 4. They didnt even have MY name right for her as her owner. Not only that but when we brought Mama Cat back home, I noticed they didnt give us back her pink collar. This place is full of incompetent idiots who cant do ANYTHING right. They lost my business completely: sucks for them, considering I have two more kittens, another cat, and a dog at home.

We use Deason for our dogs vaccine and urgent care needs, as the vet who is most familiar with our dogs breed is far away. I love Deason, though! They have convenient hours and reasonable prices for the minor services we have received. There are many doctors on staff so getting an appointment has never been an issue. All of the doctors we have been seen by are young but enthusiastic and competent. Dr Gilmore is awesome, he takes time to ask how things are going even if he is just giving a vaccine, and I can tell he really cares. They dont allow prescriptions to be filled outside of their office, but when you think about how hard it is to pay the bills and make a living in veterinary medicine, I get it!
