River Valley in Niles treated us and our puppy Kayla in the worst way today. After her dying during recovery, we went to pick her (and our other puppy) up. We waited at the counter for 5 minutes ---my daughter and I both crying and 3 women behind there not helping a customer --- When they waited on us and came back up front I was handed JoJo and Kayla was in a box. They were shocked I was upset that she was just being passed over the counter in a box as if she was a piece of mail. Then we were told there were not any rooms available so we could wait in our car for someone to come out and talk to us. Roger took her to the back of the truck to wrap her in a blanket. What he found was beyond horrific! The box was too small for her, he had to rip it down at the corners to get her out. She was on a dirty towel with her own feces and had feces all over her rear. They didnt even clean her up. To add insult to injury, the clerk walked out after Roger threw their box back in the office and asked if we still wanted to talk to someone. When I told her no I didnt want to talk to any of their fricken Drs she said oh my God you guys are being so unreasonable. Then told us I didnt kill your dog!! Huh, really??? Shes lucky I was holding JoJo or she would have had her glasses and smirk taken right off her face! After taking JoJo to another vet this afternoon to make sure he was fine since I pulled him early we were told that any surgery for a dog of her breed was extremely high risk. Gee thanks River Valley, your vet tech never bothered to mention that when I asked her specifically what we should know or watch for with a short snout breed!!! I used to hear great things about Dr Brandt......maybe he used to be good but his all vet tech assembly line is terrible and your staff is so insensitive! I wish I could rate with 0 stars!!!!!

I have been coming to River Valley Equine Clinic (and small animals) for years with my babies. I have never experienced anything but kind and caring service to my furbabies. When we had to make the hardest decision to put one of our cats down due to kidney failure they were so kind. The vet stayed in the room with us and soothed our baby as he went to sleep with soft words and rubbing his back as he slowly crossed the rainbow bridge. On another occasion, my daughters friends dog got hit and the impact tore his skin off of his back. They took him to Magraines in Mishawaka but they refused to treat him until payment was made in full. My daughters friend had some money but Magraines wouldnt accept anything less than payment in full. I directed my daughter to call RVC and ask what they could do for the dog. Let me tell you...THEY WERE AMAZING!! They came in after hours, treated the dog who had to be kept for a couple of nights and told my daughters friend not to worry about payment that night, they would figure that out later. Which they did. Thank you River Valley Equine Clinic for your dedication to our babies and being so supportive during the hardest times of our lives.

Absolutely worst experience I have ever had in dealing with their office!!!!!!! I will never ever go here or deal with them again. Dr. Brant worked on my horse, while I was not there, at a place I was boarding at in 2014. I had to literally call their office 8 times to get my bill. They said I didnt have a bill with them. It was such a back and forth thing and why did I even call in the first place if they were not going to bill me due to their faults! Theyre all so disorganized its unreal! Wow 2 years later theyre calling me saying I have an outstanding bill "that I did not pay". Excuse me I called your office to get my bill, time wasted out of my day over and over and two years later I have an outstanding bill with you and its my fault?!!! Whats wrong with this picture, I have never ever dealt with a vet clinic so disorganized in my life!

So I was actually at the clinic when this negative review by a Nicole concerning a passed pet happened . First off I am very sorry for anyones loss when it comes to their pet, BUT what she described is not what I and others saw and heard.. The man and woman were upset yes, understandably so but they were very much acting out of anger and was not acting very appropriate ( cursing,throwing things, etc.) From my experience in human nursing , surgery is ALWAYS a risk period. I am not necessarily standing up for the clinic here but I just dont like to see a grown man threaten people the way that family did...

I had to drive my cat here in an emergency at 2am, and Dr. Brandt answered his phone and jumped out of bed to help us. He didnt ask for any money, and even offered help in case we ran out of gas trying to find an open gas station. When picking my cat up a few days later, the staff were very very kind. They accepted any form of payment necessary, and even let me set up a payment plan for the remaining balance. These people are very compassionate and caring. They really enjoy what they do, and it shows in the way they treat you, and especially your pet.

I came in about a half hour ago with my mom and lil chihuahua to be seen. Me and my mom believed my baby was showing signs of a pre-seizure. The doctor was absolutely wonderful (Dr. Brandt) Although there was no space that time of day for an appointment they said that my dogs issues wasnt something that can be held off for another time so i got my dog seen anyway for the same price.... I will definately come back if my baby has another problem like this... I seriously recommend coming to this clinic with your furry friend too!!!

I started taking my senior dog to RVC about 4 years ago. Ive been very satisfied with his care, they have not cashed in on unnecessary procedures, keeping in mind his age. Recently, though, Ive had to put him on rimadyl for arthritis and such. They used generic which is fine, but didnt disclose this, the label says rimadyl-g. They also charged me brand name price. I could have saved money on the rimadyl website program. Now theyre charging me $15.00 to "transfer" my RX to mail order! Very disappointing. Guess cant have it all.

Have been going to this vet for a few years and while I like the staff and the care my animals received, for the past 6 months I can never get an appointment unless it literally weeks out. When you have a sick animal you shouldnt have to wait weeks. The only suggestion they gave me was to come in as and "emergency" so I can pay them more money for the same treatment. Very diappointed in the lack of care an compassion these people have.
