Feb. 15, 2016 Upon my first visit, my healthy 8 week old puppy (Duke) was taken back to get his temperature checked and a fecal check so I dont understand why he was brought back to me in the exam room with blood oozing out of his mouth, wheezing, coughing, vomiting, and could hardly stand up under his own strength. Neither does the doctor. All we know is it could be one of two things, A: Noncardiogenic pulmonary edema, which did not present any proofs upon X-rays or B: he couldve been mishandled by a technician., which we were informed he "could have dropped down on his side while he was having his tantrum." Dr Katheryn was wonderful with Duke and tried to make things right even though her story did not add up and changed. Once her story changed it was bias towards the technicians when we returned, which is the only reason this review is two stars and not 0. If this was an accident then ok tell us it was an accident but dont feed us a story that has no empirical proofs like we are some uneducated schmucks who just nod our heads and accept whatever b.s. Is fed to us. This experience was most unpleasant for all of us especially in the end when we were told his collars which are double the diameter of his neck were on tightly and could of been the cause. Lets break this down: They told us its our fault in an effort to cover their own butts. In the Marine corps we call that a load of s@#t in a feeble attempt to C.Y.A. (Cover your a@#). Thanks for not charging us for the services Comal animal Clinique but you still charged us $80 for an animal care plan that I did not sign for as well as treat us like schmuks while smiling. So I give yall an A for service with a smile and a D for services rendered.

Ive been using this vet for 2 years. The staff is friendly enough but they refuse to let me get medicine from any other place. I have used an online site for years to get affordable meds for my animals. Comal Animal Clinic will not work with me and send a prescription for basic heartworm medicine. Not only would they not approve the transaction but they did not contact me to let me know that they cancelled my order. The first time I tried to order meds from another company they told me they would price match so I caved and went to the vet and paid them (despite the fact that their "price matching" was $15 more expensive than what I could find the pills for online). At this point it was too late to wait around for something to be mailed. So the second time I tried to order my heartworm pills I called the vets office to let them know that a fax was on its way and to approve it. The girl that answered said "no problem." A week later the fax has been ignored, no one called me. I call back and they say they no longer allow people to buy from competing sources. I can buy from them or my pet will suffer. Now I have to find a new vet and pay for a new heartworm test. Thanks jerks!

We are winter Texans so we only use Comal when we are here. Previously weve had no complaint, but this year is different. Since most of my pets shots and tests are done at home in Wisconsin, we dont have much contact with them here. When we came into the clinic to update my pets records, the receptionist said she didnt know how to do it. So she scanned the documents and attached them to his record, but we get continual emails stating our pet needs more shots and tests. It is annoying! Weve had this done in the last two months and they wont update the records. I asked the receptionist to check and see if he needed the additional flu vaccine and she said she would check with our vet at home and get back to us. That was about the 4th of January and weve never heard from her again, but the records we have were sufficient for the doggie day care. I would caution you: If you dont use them for total care, dont bother!

Comal Pet Clinic was great while we were clients. Since we moved from New Braunfels to Seguin, i wanted to take my dog to a clinic closer to home. I contacted Comal Pet Clinic and asked to have Buckys records sent to the new clinic before his appointment. We got to the appointment and no records sent. Went yesterday to the new clinic to purchase heartworm preventative. New clinic called to get heartworm results and purchase information for Trifexis from Comal. Clinic was told i had not purchased meds since January. I knew that wasnt true. Got home, got online and sure enough, i had purchased in June. New clinic almost did not give me meds based on your false information. Comal Pet Clinic is great as long as you are a customer. Just dont try and go somewhere else or they will be deceptive. Tells me alot about the ethics of the staff.

WOW! First off we have a small zoo at our house between dogs, cats, hamster, and hedgehogs. I first took my cat to be fixed and then later started taking my dogs for their annual check ups. My smallest dog ended up later in the year having an allergic reaction to something and they fit her in quickly for a check up. But here was the coolest thing. The next day the vet called herself to check on her. Then it occured to me that she has done that every time. I thought...that is what real customer service is about. Great services & Follow up. I have been impressed time and again and refer all my friends there. The prices are affordable and they have some new health plans that work for families for check ups and vaccinations. Great company!!!

It took me almost 2 years to find a vet in the New Braunfels area that could meet all of my criteria. The vet needs to 1. Care about my animal like it were their own, 2. be professional and polite, 3. have reasonable prices. I am so happy to have found Comal Animal Clinic, because they have a wonderful team that are willing to go the extra mile to make sure that you pet and you are comfortable and happy with everything they do. Most companies will not go the extra mile unless you throw money at them, well Comal animal clinic will go that extra mile when needed, because it is the right thing to do. They let me just come hang out with my dog after a major surgery just because I was worried and I missed him, what a great staff.

I rescued a small Chihuahua from the side of the road. It had already been hit, but was doing fairly well, I called this clinic in a panic, and they told me to bring the dog to them. The vet and staff came out to the car to carry the pup in. They said they would make him comfortable and make some calls to get him taken care of. Most vets would tell you to call the pound, or refuse to help unless you could pay for it. This office is amazing, they actually care about the pet! We have just moved to the area and I will be taking my pets here for care. Highly recommended!
