DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE !! I walked into a FILTHY waiting room with old pee on the plant and floor. Hair on the old door mat. The Vet is more concerned with the bottom line and if you can pay it. When I took the RX she gave me it didnt have the amount or the duration on it ( The pharmacy called and no answer the 3rd attempt they answered and left her on hold for 10 minutes. The whole experience was HORRIBLE. I was early so they put us in a room that had a bench and table ( NO Sink, No hand cleaner, nothing but the bench and table ) old and dirty I looked at my dog and asked what we had gotten into. The office visit was discounted to 19.95 ( the tech came in and wrote it all down on paper ( cool it must be really really low overhead ) The vet was clean and shiney new boots. She was NOT into my dog in any way and got straight to business. First senario was what we would do in a perfect world ( who the hell lives in a perfect world " and you have insurance for your dog and can afford any price for the TREATMENT " not care, not remedy !! My sweet dog didnt want anything to do with her and she didnt want to pet him so when she said it was about $ 1000. I said I cant afford that but what can I still do for my dog ? she said they would give me an estimate and left. The timid little tech came back and the estimate was higher. We trimmed it back to 700 with a 150 to 250 bump. a $ 1000. It was cold and old and dirty and money hungry DO NOT GO TO THIS VET if they offer the office visit for free !!

My cat had a really bad flea problem and he would scratch himself beyond the point of bleeding. It got so bad that I knew I had to bring him to a vet. I saw good reviews on this place and decided to try them. I was scared to take my cat at first because I didnt want them to lecture me and/or judge me and make me feel even worse about the way my cat looked and also because I dont have a lot of money as a full-time student with no income at the moment. As soon as I walked through the door I was greeted and seen right away. Im not used to being seen right when the appointment is supposed to be. They were really kind and compassionate and understanding. When they gave me my estimate, I asked to sign up for the payment plan, which I was denied to because of lack of credit. The doctor was really nice and wanted to work with me on choosing more affordable medications, but I told him that I just wanted whats best, and Ill worry about my credit card bill later. All in all though, for all the services they did provide including injections, medications administered there, and a 6 months supply of flea medication, I only paid about $300. I checked prices on 1800petmeds and found that at Humane Vet Hospital of SD, they charged me about the same or LESS than the online price. I highly recomend this place. Everyone is nice, things are ran efficiently, and my cat is already feeling and looking so much better. Ill definitely go back if I need anything else.

They are great in so many ways. The guy who answers is rude, but the girls are nice. They took good care of my dog in the worst time. Jes is great!! But, be prepared to sit in a small, hot room for 45 minutes just to get an invoice or estimate. There computer system must be VERY slow. If you have to have your pet euthanized (God forbid), do NOT take them here. Even if you call in advance, they make you sit in the lobby for nearly a half hour. And when they finally allow you to go into a room, they make you wait 40 minutes for the invoice and pay for it. All the while, your pet is getting stressed, as are you. The rest gets even gets longer. There is no consideration of your feelings. Ive worked in the veterinary field for years and I will tell you, this is completely abnormal. Vet hospitals usually have more consideration for people and pets going through this situation.

I just read some of the more negative reviews and I cant believe we went to the same place. The lady that I spoke to on the phone was incredibly kind and squeezed me in for today (I came home from work and my poor kittys eye was all swollen and itchy). When I got there, the ladies at reception were very welcoming and friendly and the waiting room was spotless. Both the doctor and the tech who examined Emily (my cat) were extremely kind and gentle with her and talked me through everything they were planning to do. I was given options for treatment before anything was done and everything was discussed beforehand. It also helps that I totally heard them talking about how pretty Emily is and how they never would have guessed shes as old as she is :P Honestly, I could not be more pleased with my experience. Thank you guys again!

Been going to this vet for over 7 years. Loved loved loved it until now. Took my dog in to get neutered that went perfect. While he was going to be asleep for that i had them deep clean his ears. Well i thought. I payed extra $100 for anesthesia on top of what he was already was getting for his surgery and $65 for the ear cleaning. No problem to pay that. So the next day i noticed my dog scratching at his ears. Took a flashlight and looked inside ears. Guess what they was not cleaned. I called thinking they would say not problem bring him back and we will do it. They said it was done and will not do it again. So Im sad to say that i cant take my dogs back there. I cant pay someone to do something and they dont do it. I didnt want my money back i just wanted my dogs ears cleaned. Thats all. Feeling sad.....

My first visit and my impression: They push products/services you dont need; pricey, some receptionists were unfriendly; questioning customers word when trying to get refund for service not rendered; get a call that they "happened" to forget to talk to me about signing some form and trying to talk me into getting more services; when trying to get refund, heard the same spiel done on another customer; REALLY odd that you pay first before obtaining any service; and, I will not be returning. Arent there any vets that simply want to treat your extended family members without pushing products/service you dont need? It appears that profit is their bottom line all in the name of caring for your loved ones.

This place should change the name because it certainly isnt "humaine"!! My dog needed an itchy shot because she is allergic to something in our yard. She is suffering badly, chewing her hair out and itching all day and night. I called today for an appointment and was told no appointments for over a week. For just a shot?? Oh, just let the dog suffer. Not acceptable. To make matters worse the girl told me I should have had the foresight to call earlier. So I guess I have a vet license. This type of treatment for dogs is absolutely unacceptable. It required 5 minutes for a simple shot not surgery. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!! You cannot give them less than one star or I would hae.
