This is not a very cat-friendly vet, to say the least. The two times I have been here the waiting room was filled with curious dogs, much to the chagrin of my cats. Both times I was made to wait in this room well past my appointment time, the second time for 30 additional minutes (no explanation or apology was given). My cat had previously been examined at this same vet, and was here for a biopsy. After they took her, I waited an additional 15 minutes before I was told she would need to be sedated due to the location of the growth. The vet was short with me when I tried to ask some basic questions, like why I had not been informed of this on the previous visit or at any time in the last 45 minutes I had been in the office. It worried me because my cat is 13 years old and I didnt understand what this procedure involved. After my questions were met with hostile exasperation and left unanswered, I was presented with a $500 estimate for the biopsy and sedation. Suddenly, time was of the essence to these people as the receptionist began pressuring me to leave my cat there to get this procedure done. When I made up an excuse so that I wouldnt have to decide before I had even had my questions about the procedure answered, she pressed me even further, insisting I drop my cat off the next day and scheduling me an appointment even though I said I wouldnt be able to make it. When I finally got home (a 5-minute drive), I discovered that my cat had urinated all over herself, likely due to the inordinate amount if time we were forced to wait. A horrible experience that I do not wish upon anyone else.

This vet is the best! The doctors and staff are amazing, our previous vet, which was once the only vet in downtown Market Street was bought out by VCA - I much prefer a locally owned clinic and after an emergency on a Saturday a few months back when our vet was closed I rushed my pup to B Street. Their extended hours are a life saver for this purpose. They squeezed us in, on a Saturday which you could tell right away was already a very busy day and everyone was SO kind and helpful. This was the first time one of my babes ever had a been bitten or had any kind of emergency so I was a bit of wreck. They saved us ER pricing and took great care of my girl and it was decided that when they were due for annual exams and vaccines again we would be making the switch! My boyfriend took our girls in for this appointment and shared the same experience I originally had with them. They were wonderful, took great care of our girls and were looking forward to continuing our vet care with them! Thank to the whole staff at B Street !

The staff and doctors here are wonderful. We brought our first dog to them, but he went from barely seeming sick to stage 4 leukemia in a span of 4 days. I wish it was diagnosed sooner, but because he was so young, it took over pretty quickly. Our second dog got attacked by a pitbull and they took care of him quickly and efficiently. Our dog is alive and happy and you wouldnt even believe he ever experienced anything that traumatic with how he plays with big dogs. He gets excited when we go to the vet now and loves the staff as much as we do. I believe them to be professional and they dont try to sell us extra garbage like most vets do in my experience. Their basic fees are also more reasonable than other vets Ive gone to in San Diego.

The staff as a whole, and Dr.Keene in particular, are a wonderful group of compassionate, kind, souls who guided me with such grace through the end of life care of my best friend of 19 years, Isaiah. Their prices are very reasonable, and their hours are second to none. They were kind and informative and I appreciated their guidance. I felt respected, cared about, and more importantly they cared about my sweet boy, his level of comfort, if he was scared, etc. They let me hold him for as long as I wanted after he passed, and I appreciated to ability to gain closure in privacy. I would recommend their staff and services to anyone seeking a loving, caring, well trained staff of true pet lovers who will love your fur babies like you do.

I have been bringing both my dog and cat here for almost a year, and am really happy with B sts patient care, service, and availability. They fit us in when we need to get in and the wait is minimal, as well as the prices reasonable. The staff is friendly and really great with the pets and I have seen Dr. Olsen, who is awesome. She really takes the time to communicate with us about what our pets need, and I love that she comes out into the waiting room to personally inform us about what treatment was done, as well as any recommendations. I can tell she really loves her job and the patients she cares for, and I really appreciate being treated with respect and kindness. Glad we found this place!

If youre researching the best place to take your pet in San Diego, I hope these words are your final stop. Everyone at B Street Vets put incredible soul into their work and our little loved ones. They give full and comprehensive consults, results, give great instructions and care, and have consistently gone above and beyond in caring for my cats. Last year, each of my 3 cats had medical emergencies of some sort, all life-threatening, and thanks to the outstanding intuition, attention and care, I still have all 3 fireballs, happy and healthy waiting for me when I come home. Please consider B Street Vets for your pets.

I needed a last minute appointment to get a helath certificate for my cats to move to Hawaii (my other vet cancelled that morning). They were able to get me in quickly and dr olson was so friendly and comforting. She got on the floor and let my kitties warm up to her before working on them. While working with them she was loving and gentle. My fear was they had to be in cargo. She reassured me they were healthy and would be fine. She told there are so many precautions airlines have recently created to make sure it goes smoothly. Everyone in the office was super friendly. Im very picky, and I would definitely recommend.

B Street is the best! Whenever my dog had an urgent problem they allowed us to drop in and get her seen right away. Recently they helped nurse her to the end of her life from heart failure. They did their best for Sasha and our family at a reasonable cost, and also gave us the straight story when we asked if it was time to let go, putting us in touch with a wonderful home euthanasia vet who came to our home so she could have a happy, peaceful end to her life. I will definitely bring all of my future pets here.

This review is long over due, last year my Andre was very sick. I was apprehensive about vet care because of bad experiences with other vets. I decided to trust Dr V and her staff and i was so happy i did. Right to the end Dr V was honest and had Andre in her best interest. After his passing i received a card from her office with everyones thoughts... it still makes me teary when i think of the kindness and compassion everyone showed. Plus they put the pet first and being a student i am so grateful of that.
