I dont normally write a lot of reviews but this experience was something I needed to share......This past January we had to say goodbye to our beloved Dog Taz....he was 17 years old.....lived the most amazing life....traveled everywhere with us, he loved the desert the most......When the time came for us to say goodbye I was at a loss of where to go or what to do, we are from Canada........a friend suggested this hospital, said they were the best.....I read the reviews, it seemed ok, but this is a large part of the reason Im writing my review, not just because they were amazing, but maybe another pet owner might have the same dilemma I had and not know where to go, I hope my review will enable them to make the right decision... This had to be one of the most difficult decisions I have ever had to make, but Dr Nicole Brockmeier explained the process before and after in detail with so much compassion, she was gentle, caring and loving with our boy right until the end, even though we had just met, I hugged her, it was like we had known her forever. She stayed with us even after he had passed, just to comfort and talk to us....We had him cremated, and even that arrived back to us with such detail, and caring, it was first class all the way, we were so blown away by a process that terrified me, I need to tell others, ITS OK...and u can trust this hospital and the ppl that work there. There isnt a day that I dont think about my dog, but he was at such peace during his passing, no more pain...... So I would like to send my heartfelt thanks to Dr Nicole and the staff at the Desert Dunes Animal Hospital, and hope that my review will help any future pet owners with their decision to chose this animal Hospital. Respectfully, Robyn and Rick Borik

I was on vacation just after Christmas when I noticed my dog limping. I took him to a Desert Dunes and they found something in his paw. It came out with the vets fingernail. I thought it was a pebble, but the vet said it was a growth and wanted to take x-rays. So I said OK. The x-rays showed a growth on one of his toes and the vet said that the toe had to come off. The exam and x-ray was already $500, and the removal of the toe was going to be another $1400. I didnt want to see my dog in pain, so I said "OK" and we scheduled surgery for the next morning. I got back to my vacation condo and said "What the hell are you thinking?" So I called the vet and said that I had to go back to LA and wanted the XRay. Id be in in the morning to pick up all of his medical records. I did and waited until we got back home. My regular vet here said that he was so glad that Id waited. All the dog needed was a shot. He said that the dog probably had a hairline fracture and that the growth was a little calcification, and that it should get better within the month with just that one shot. And it has. My dog is fine WITHOUT the painful and expensive removal of his toe.

HORRIBLE!!! I took my small Pomeranian in for an exam for a lump on her chest. Dr. Conner hardly looked her over before saying she was fine. So much for a "nose to tail" exam. I then asked him to check her teeth. The vet tech who looks about 16 grabbed my dog by the neck and slammed her head down on the metal table while he proceeded to pry her mouth open as she screamed in pain. Her tongue was turning purple as he told me "oh shes fine". I would NEVER trust these people with any animal EVER. My tiny dog was physically restrained with force and clearly in pain and this so called vet did not seem to care. If this is what they do when I was in the room I cannot and do not want to imagine how they treat animals when the owner is not there. My poor dog was distressed and shaking the entire way home. I hope this place gets shut down for the inhumane treatment of innocent animals I saw today. What a pathetic excuse of a business. PLEASE take your animal anywhere else but here.

I have 2 dogs and unfortunately one of them has had skin and stomach issues since she was a baby. I had taken my dog to a few different vets in the valley and nobody was helpful. I have been going to desert dunes for about 2 years and I will never go anywhere else. Dr. Conner is an amazing doctor and human being! Every time I take my babies to him its so clear that he genuinely cares, he takes his time and he always knows just what to do. I appreciate him so much. He is incomparable to so many other vets in the valley that I have gone to in the past come in the room rush through the visit, tell you theres nothing you can do and charge you. Thanks to Dr. Conner my dog finally lives a calm life unlike before when she would cry and scratch her skin all day. Thank you so much Dr. Conner for actually caring!

I am from Canada and called Desert Dunes prior to my arrival to ensure they carried the dog food I needed for my pet. The receptionist reassured me that they not only carried it, but had it in stock. After arriving in Palm Springs, I went to go buy the food. Upon arrival there were about 6 people behind the counter. No one greeted me nor offered me help. After searching the shelves, I went up to ask for the food. Turns out they dont have any of it. Customs will not allow you to an open bag of food (and a full bag is the size of my suitcase!). This is why I called ahead to make sure they had the right food for my dog. Disappointed not only for the missing food, but also the terrible service. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone.

Amazing staff, veterinarians, surgical specialists. I had to bring my mothers beloved cat in to have a procedure done which involved surgery I was not familiar with. Dizzy means everything to my elederly mother and I can not say enough about the attentiveness of the staff, Dr. Connor with his great communication on what exactly should be done and what to expect. Everything went perfect and Dizzy is back to normal in 3 days. I have owned pets for 40 years and can say this organization is the best Ive seen in all those years. Thank you all at Desert Dunes Animal Hospital!

I have a blind dacshund/Jack Russell(almond Joy) and I have had great care with all the doctors at Desert Dunes. She ruptured her disks in her back and they were so gentle and gave her comfort care. I boarded her in the hospital side for a week and they took great care with her. The staff is very helpful and kind. I love that they are open on Sat. and Sun. so you dont have to pay extra for an emergency situation. Thank you Desert dunes. I dont trust anyone else with her. Nile Seay La Quinta

Dr Conner was just awesome...I had just spent close to $1,000 at another animal hospital here in the Desert and my 19 year old Jack Russell was still at deaths door. Dr Conner listened to her heart and in 2 seconds diagnosed her with a heart murmur. He prescribed some medication and within days there was an incredible improvement. I cant express my gratitude enough to the staff and Dr.s!
