THIS PLACE IS A SCAM & RIPOFF!!!!!!! We came for our cat to get shots and a checkup because his eye was infected so we paid $40 for the visit and $60 for the shots ahead of time at the front before we saw Dr. Fuentes. The young girl with the black hair at the front is rude and scams the customers. She said well get the money for the shots back if the doctor decided not to give the shots today because of his infected eye and said he might still give the shots even with the eye infection. Doctor Fuentes said to refund the money back for the shots in the front desk after the exam because he will give him shots next week. When we came to pickup the money, the rude girl said we owe them $23 more dollars after all the money they took because the tiny medication is $72! I didnt agree to pay that much money and the doctor didnt say it would be that much. The girl didnt want to give the money back or tell us how much each medication costed. She didnt want to even give a receipt until we gave her another $23 dollars all in rudeness. She is rude and tricks people out of their money by taking it up front and then at the end saying people owe more money. If I knew it was $72, I might have taken one medication but not everything he pushed just to make money. We already had eye infection cream and he said his was better and I didnt want it, I only wanted the antibiotics and he charged over $30 for that. We used to get those meds for $10 in low cost clinics in Los Angeles. This place is fake and call themselves low cost but they bait and switch because they take money upfront and dont give you any back when you leave. They found a way to use the money and convince you that you owe them and they got you in the door by saying low cost. We got an extra eye cream our cat didnt need and the Dr. said he has to make a few more visits before he can do spay and immunizations just to charge more money for visits. This isnt an honest way to make money. Its a great way to mess up their own reputation and Ill be making a complaint to the Clark County board of Veterinarians so no one else has to go through this. Find a real low-cost clinic, this one is fake. Dont come here and get your money stolen and pay money at the end when you dont know how much everything costed.

I took my dog to the Dewey Medical Center because I had adopted him from the SPCA so I figured that since they were the ones who neutered him and had been immunizing him, then they would be the right people for his check up visit. Well, the doctor said he needed another vaccination, so I consented. When I got my dog home he had an adverse reaction to it because it was given in the wrong area. It swelled up to the size of a golf ball. He eventually got over this and when I consulted another person in the field, I was told that had it been given correctly that would not have happened to him. Fast-forward 4 months. Today I saw that my dog had gotten into the garbage for the first time. I was a little concerned so I called just to see if I could talk to the doctor and see if he needed to be brought in and checked out (just as a precaution). The lady on the phone explained that their doctors refuse to give advice over the phone and that If I wanted to speak to one of their doctors, I would have to make an appointment. I hung up and dialed another medical center that was more than happy to answer my questions and address my concerns. Long story short, its obvious they dont care about the animals and only want to make money. I will never call them again.

Abby the Spoiled, a mix terrier/mutt, rescued us 6 years ago. About a year ago we decided to find a Vet nearer our home (we are old). Dr. Ron came highly rated (from the best place for referral information. . .Charlie Frias Park!). WE LOVE Dr. Ron! Dr. Ron examined Abby the Spoiled, all the while talking quietly, smoothly, and under the guise of a great massage, Abby the Spoiled had very relaxing examination. Earlier this year Abby needed "minor" surgery. From past experiences with previous Las Vegas Vet. I was prepared for the "bill". Yes, routine blood work was required. Estimate was given and approved. About the same as "expensive Vet". BUT, when I received the bill, and final payment information, I was pleasantly surprised that about 1/3 had been paid by a "foundation". Very nice surprise! Bottom line: Dr. Ron, and EVERYONE involved with the Vet services at Dewey Veterinary Medical Center, are second to NONE! Every person is so owner and pet friendly. I have always had "rescues" as pets. I now highly recommend Dewey for anything pet related. Almost forgot; Abby recovered just as Spoiled as ever after her "minor surgery". Dr. Ron and staff, also take care of "parents". :)

Terrible Experience!!! We have 2 Labs, Chocolate and Black and had taken them to Dewey on previous occasions for various health reasons including vaccinations. Our Chocolate Lab has got into a scrap with my brothers Doberman recently and had a chunk of his ear missing so we took him into Dewey for a checkup. The Doctor looked at the ear and then gave me a estimate for the surgery which involved removing a piece of his ear. The Estimate was over $800.00 for a minor surgery. We kindly declined due to the cost. They charged us $88.00 for the visit and did not even bother to clean the ear and told us to make a follow up appointment in 10 days. They then called me a few days later to make sure that we were going to make our next appointment so that we could pay them some more money. We took our Chocolate Lab to another Vet located at Boca Park and their quote was less than half the price of Dewey and they did not ask us to come back in 10 days to pay them more money. Very dissatisfied with this Vet and will never go back again.

I brought my pet here based on the great reviews this place has. The dental treatment for my dog was about $217, but they gave us an special price of $107, because that day my dog received all his vaccines & a blood test. I wanted to pay in advance the remaining balance. They told me that it was better to pay it after, because my dog may need a tooth pull and the amount may change. So, I signed all the papers and came back at 2:30 pm like they told me. There was no calls made to me during the 6 hrs after I left the veterinarian. When I got there my bill was for $595, went from $107 to that. I freak out, how can they do procedures to an animal without even having the decency of calling me. I did not had that money, so, they reduced the balance to $385. Still to much money, and very unprofessional what they did. What would have happened if I did not had a credit card to pay? Be careful when you choose them as a vet. You may end with a very unhappy surprise.
