We recently had to find a new vet when one of our dogs was sick. After reading the other reviews, I decided to give Loyal Companions a try. Our first visit was so great. From the warm greeting by the lovely gal up front, to being taken right into the room by the great vet tech, right through the exam by Dr. Nickel -in fairness Ive not met the other vet yet, but Im pretty sure Dr. Nickel is the best vet ever. The exams are done in spa like rooms where theres soothing music, an ottoman instead of a cold steel table, thunder shirts available, while treats and full size windows help your pet feel comfortable and calm. The exam was thorough, but all the while they were sure to check if my dog was getting too stressed or uncomfortable. They took his blood out in front of the building because he was more calm out there. We were beyond impressed. Ultimately, we had to come back a few days later for X-rays and the results were not what we hoped. Despite the fact that we were "new" patients, I felt closer to everyone in this office than I have at any vet weve gone to for years. Losing a pet is the one of the hardest things to go through, but Im glad we found Loyal Companions and Dr. Nickel to help us through it. Long story short, everyone there was so kind, and patient, and supportive. I am pretty sure our situation kept them there over an hour past closing, but every single one of them kept telling us to take as long as we needed and offered their condolences. I look forward to getting to know each one of them more in the years to come. Theyve got a customer for life and I will aggressively recommend this vet to everyone I know with an animal.

We have a small dog who is very nervous and quick tempered. Our long time vet said his office was unable to provide treatment for this dog. We brought him to Loyal Companions and after one visit and some suggested training on our part Dr. Petschke was able to give him three shots with no problem. She is amazing and she spent well over an hour with us on the first visit. Our other dog also had a stomach infection and one visit and medicine took care of that! We have found a permanent home for our pet veterinary care!! Thank you Dr. Vicki! January 7th, 2017. Our Great Dane Coon Hound cross had developed an apparent puncture wound in his right rear foot. Rory is a young and rambunctious 18 month old 95 lb dog. We were concerned how we would hold him still enough for Dr. Vicki to examine. Of course we need not have worried! In about ten minutes she had Rory completely settled down and more than happy to have her take care of him!! She is truly a dog whisperer! Now 20 hours later he is already healing nicely! We feel incredibly lucky to have found a wonderful veterinarian and whisperer to take care of our companions!

My cat, Izzy, was abandoned at a veterinarians office so, needless to say, she is scared when we go to the vet. We came in through the special Cat Entrance and were immediately shown into the exam room. Within minutes, using their Fear Free approach, Izzy was actually bonding with the staff. She regularly needs a procedure that is not pleasant, but with the use of the techniques employed by Dr. Petsche and her staff, it was as comfortable as it could have possibly been for her. She enjoyed being brushed, eating special treats, and looking out the window at the birds. (Check her out on Loyal Companions Facebook page!) All the animals here receive special treatment. This exceptional care should be considered the Standard of Care at all veterinarians! Call them and stop by and take a look at this unique facility and you will no doubt be back to witness the caring staff in action. Your pet will love you for it! One other thing. After our appointment, I had a follow up question that I communicated via email. I expected the typical one liner response, but received a call back from Dr. Petsche herself!

We just rescued our first family dog about one week ago. She is quite timid and nervous as she has had little stability. When I saw Loyal Companions focused on a Fear Free experience, I knew I wanted to take our Zoey here and make her first visit as pleasant as possible. I was SUPER IMPRESSED with every part of our visit. Everyone we encountered was very calm and loving towards our girl. Soothing music is played in the exam room; she laid right down and was snoozing during wait times! They motivate the animal with treats and it worked like a charm for our Zoey. I can say with 100% certainty that she had a VERY positive experience here; I didnt see her nervous one tiny bit! She actually excelled in this environment! I felt like the entire staff that worked with her, genuinely cared for her and treated her so kindly. As a first time dog owner, my first experience with a vet was a positive one, for myself and our dog. We will definitely be back to Loyal Companions!

I really cannot say enough about Dr. Petsche and her staff at Loyal Companions. My dog suffered from a very serious virus that nearly took his life and Dr. Petsche was just amazing. She was so incredibly caring and compassionate with not only my sweet dog but with me and my family. She was so thorough and saved my dogs life. We met daily, sometimes twice daily for hydration and medicines that needed to be injected but she even took time to come in after hours and on a Sunday to care for my dog. She checked in daily via phone call and I was able to contact her at anytime directly which gave me peace of mind! I am so very grateful to her and her staff. Her facility is clean and so beautifully done for a safe and fear free environment. I would highly recommend Loyal Companions for the care and well being of any pet!

I have two cats who have gone to the same vet their entire life. One of them is 14! After moving down to Illinois from Wisconsin, I had no choice but to find a new vet for them. I cannot say enough about Dr. Petschke and her entire staff. They are all so loving, kind, and put all the animals at ease. They go the extra mile in everything they do. I also boarded both of them there for a week while on vacation. They had never been boarded, and did very well. They were well taken care of, and were not stressed at all when I picked them up. My cats are very at ease there and in their presence. Every detail of the facility and care was well thought out. I cannot put enough stars and hearts on this review!

We are visitors here and our 11 month old puppy became sicker with kennel cough. Staff at Loyal Companions got us in the morning we called. The staff and veterinarian offered comprehensive and compassionate care to our fur baby and also to the anxious. "Parents." We were seen in an outside secure area to prevent exposure to this communicable canine illness to other patients. As a health professional I support this precaution! Certainly we will return if we again have need on one of our frequent visit. We highly recommend Loyal Companion for small animal care. Alice and John Perry and Cassie
