The vet techs are wonderful - Jennifer was particularly nice and helpful - but the doctor was downright awful. She had such an unbelievably nasty attitude from the start - with full on sarcasm, instead of compassion and insight as youd expect from someone in her role and her business of providing emergency care. Heres just one example: Our dogs are typically on harnesses with their leashes but Bens injury wouldve made it painful for him putting the harness on, so the leash was connected to his collar when we brought him in. His collar was a little loose and he slipped out of it in the office (and he stood there waiting for us to put it back on, like the good dog that he is.) Heres what she said: "You know your dog will get loose and die in the street because of this. You know you CAN make these collars smaller, right?" We found ourselves in a stressed out situation and forgot to tighten our dogs collar - so we were labeled bad dog parents. She couldve pointed out his collar was loose and been nice about it. But it was all judgment and sarcasm from then on. Then she was explaining that Ben needed an antibiotic and that it could cause nausea. I asked "So he could throw up from the pills?" - just to confirm I heard her right and heres what she said: "Yes, it IS AN ANTIBIOTIC after all, THAT DOES HAPPEN." I asked a simple, honest question and got sarcasm. It was unbelievable. Heres some advice, lady: Obviously youve seen one too many irresponsible pet owners and are now taking it out on everyone who comes through your door. Take a break, do some different work for a while. Oh - and if youre going to wear a cross around your neck, maybe try acting like a Christian. We will not be bringing our dogs back here again - well go back to VCA on Galena in Aurora, where theyre always compassionate, friendly and professional.

I believe they killed my cat. I will say that im a licensed vet tech. Im not working now, im a stay at home mom. I had never been to this hospital before. I had neither heard good or bad things about it. My 13 year old cat was brought in for respiratory distress. This, of course is a very dangerous situation to begin with. I told the vet if she was more comfortable keeping my cat in an oxygen chamber for an hour or two if needed to get her stabilized for a radiograph and bloodwork then please do that rather than rush through it. Just minutes after my cat was taken in back the vet came back to show me the xray. It didnt look good, as there was alot of fluid in my cats chest. Again, within minutes of the vet showing me the xray she had to run out of the room because my cat had apparently crashed. Minutes later she came in to tell me my cat died. Now, i will say that my poor kitty wasnt in good shape. BUT! Being a CVT, i also know that you need to make sure the cat is as stable as possible BEFORE rushing off to radiology. Xraying a cat in respirtory distress can be deadly. Why couldnt they put my cat in O2 for longer? Why not get a catheter in before xrays, so if she does crash you have instant venous access for emergency meds? Theres just too many questions about why they didnt do this or that. They seemed rushed to get her in and out (even thought they werent that busy that time). Unfortunately, she got in quick and left in a cardboard box. I should have followed my gut and brought her to Arboretum View ER. All of this was just one big mistake and we lost our swet kitty because of it.

My miniature developed sudden onset severe respiratory distress at 300 am on 09/01/15, Her tongue turned blue and she was gasping for air, I drove 60 miles an hour to get to the vet, I ran into the vet clinic yelling for help, and my little dog stopped breathing in my arms at that moment. The vet tech came out, I told her my dog just stopped breathing, she immediatley took her in back, where Dr. Lingner acted quickly by intubating her and starting CPR. Because of thier quick response and expertise Missy is alive and well today, eating, drinking, barking, playing and enjoying her second chance at life. This is not the first time I have been to St. Charles emergency vet with Missy, Dr. Marcia helped Missy when she had an episode of fluid build up in her lungs. She new exactly what to do to get the fluid out of her system and what medications to give her so her heart would function more efficiently, she is still on those same medications and is doing fantastic. I am so greatful to the staff, they are the best vetrinary services I have ever worked with, very proffessional, compassionate, caring, respectful, always keeping you updated. I just love the doctors and staff at this clinic. Best services in the area and the surrounding areas as well. I have been to Aurora and in Chicago. St. Charles Emergency Vetrinarian Services are the best and there is none that can compare. Just want to say Thank you again for all that you have done for Missy. Love you.

My Greater Swiss Mountain Dog had gastric distress this past Monday evening. I knew this was a serious, and unfortunately not uncommon, situation with Swissies. We took him to Emergency Vet Services of St. Charles. The vet and staff members were WONDERFUL -- knowledgeable about the condition, and very compassionate toward the humans involved. The surgery was 12:30 - 1:30 a.m., and I got a courtesy call when it was over to let me know all went well. He was not quite ready to come home after a day at his regular vet, so he stayed with EVS the next night as well. He was cared for SO WELL -- I highly recommend them if you have ANY type of pet emergency. We were ALL cared for in a great way! After 4 days, Maverick is almost back to his wacky self -- we are so thankful!

Called last night when my dog had an allergic reaction and broke out in hives. The woman who answered the phone was very nice and took her time to ask specific questions. She then informed me my dog’s appropriate Benadryl dosage & advised me to wait an hour and to call back if there was no significant improvement. My dog’s hives calmed down, he slept through the night, and is doing great now. I really appreciated the time she took to assess the situation & saved us from an unnecessary trip to the emergency clinic. Now all I need to figure out it what caused him to have the allergic reaction.

Our lab recently took a turn for the worse and we could not wait to take him to see our regular vet. We had to make the difficult decision to put him to sleep. The entire staff was so kind to us during this emotional time. What I also thought was touching was they took his paw print and a lock of hair for a keepsake. So thoughtful and touching.

Intelligent, caring group. Diagnosed my pups bacterial infection by observing her neck movement->something the regular vet never even thought of (vet in Bartlett off army trail and 59 ). This place was great, calm and helpful! :) I recommend it.
