Worse experience never! I came in there to take my dog in to get his nails clipped. It is hard for me to do because he has black nails and i just got him so i was a little nervous. Needless to say Dr. Nick was a DICK. He first questioned why I even came in there and told me I should do it myself (understandable but unprofessional to say to a customer that is paying your salary). He immediately put my dog in a muzzle, even though he didnt show any sort of aggression and would NEVER bite or attack anyone, hes a big baby. My dog was whining during the process but other than that was doing fine. Dr. Nick threw my dog into the wall and yelled at him to "stop whining!". I should have refused to pay after watching him assault my dog. Maybe the muzzle should have been put on him. After talking to some family friends, they shared similar experiences with Dr. Nick, questioning why they are coming in and doing his typical pissy attitude. Maybe he should retire cause it seems like taking care of animals is getting to Dr. Nick.

I have to disagree with the previous negative review. I have received the most outstanding care for all my pets that I can imagine. I have even wished at times that I could find a human internist that could rival any of the docs here. My older dog, Edison, became terribly ill in a very short period of time and I brought him here on an emergency basis. In little more than 45 minutes they dermined that he suffered from Addisons disease, something I have heard can be very, very difficult to diagnose. He continues to thrive some three years later. I have always been treated with the greatest kindness and respect and my pets have been treated better! I have never been put on hold and have never had any trouble getting an appointment. I Absolutely love Dr Nick and Dr Tina. They are very kind hearted and give my dogs the best care. They are gentle and understanding even when they get a little snippy because they are hurting. Our family wants to thank the staff and Drs for being so wonderful when it was time to put our standard poodle down after 16 years. We had a full room as we put him down, and Dr Tina was amazing and so kind to my teenage kids as they let the tears flow. They lit a candle too. We absolutely love Crystal Lake Vet. Wonderful place♡♡♡♡

My semi-feral cat needed to have a bad wound taken care of and her routine shots. I got into the office the same day I called, in fact the same afternoon, and am so pleased, I finally found my permanent vet. Dr. Nick is superb and the staff members I interacted with are equally great. I know my Baby is in good hands there. I am grateful that I found Crystal Lake Veterinary Hospital.

Fast and easy nail trim. My dachshund can be very difficult to give a nail trim to but the vet and vet assistant made sure to take it slow and make her feel as comfortable as possible. They play classical music and give treats to provide a relax and calm environment . Had such a great experience

Dr. Nick knows his stuff!! He was able to diagnose my dogs problem immediately. I have never felt rushed there. The clinic is very clean and the staff is very professional. Office visit is a bit high, but you get what you pay for. I am pleased with the vet.
