The veterinary doctor at the time (before retirement) Dr. Peter Fleming, was an amazing vet doctor, at CLAH! He was very understanding, he always listened to you and he was very nice to his co-workers. This vet doctor that took his place, hes rude and he doesnt listen to you at all. He isnt nice to his co-workers neither, Ive witness him talk really nasty to one. Id felt really bad for her, think she quit/found somewhere else to work after that. He think he knows everything, and that all animals are the same or have the same issues! Which isnt always true, he never fully listen to me and he always cut me off. That isnt acceptable at all or professional. You supposed to listen to the patient, so youll understand whats going on with their pet! You dont know what is going on, if you dont listen to the patient first. Theyll only know what theyve witness, that has happen to their fur baby. That really turned me around, to find me another vet to take my animals to. The staff is slow when it comes to answering calls, filling Rxs and when you have a question its hard to even get an answer. The place has changed a lot since, the retirement of Dr. Peter! Wish he was still in vet medicine.....

Where to start ? Ive nothing but Rave reviews - and this , is who I continue to trust - only the best , with my ever growing crew ! From making the initial appointments ( and courtesy reminders ) - which Is desperately needed here !! The sincere care and concern for each Pup is absolutely obvious - each and every step and recommend treatment is discussed ... Ive brought many critical Bullies here & I can honestly say - Dr. Meltzgey has saved their lives .. his kind , gentle manner - puts all at ease - this is clearly a wonderful DVM that chose this profession , for the pure love of animals ! Never a doubt , ever on treatment or billing - as I stated ( genuine & true ) Id be lost without the Crystal Lakes team - Thank you Dr. Meltzgey & your awesome staff , for your compassion & amazing care . We had been to several vets in the area and then decided to try Dr Melgey at Crystal Lake Animal Hospital. In the past our Chihuahua Jaxson has had a very difficult time to say the least at the vets office! He is very fearful and flips out if anyone touches him. I just want to say the Dr Melegy is phenomenal! He is professional, knowledgeable and attentive and made us feel very comfortable. He took his time with Jaxson (who actually let Dr Melgey cut his nails!) and explained everything and answered all of our questions. Dr. Melgey also saw our Our Shepherd mix Angie. We were extremely happy with the way Angie was treated and the staff at Crystal Lake also deserve high praise. No extra unnecessary expensive tests and thats a plus! I highly recommend Crystal Lake Animal Hospital to anyone who wants their pet to have the best care around!

I am so grateful for having such a wonderful pet clinic close by! I have been taking my 7 year old shepherd here for all his checkups and health issues since 2013. He suffers from skin allergies and we had tried everything it seemed and nothing ever changed. After taking him to Crystal Lake Animal Hospital, my dog was significantly better in a matter of a few days. The building is comfortable and the staff is always delightful and kind. I have never had any problems with them. Their services have always been affordable and they never push you to purchase anything, they just give you the facts. If this animal hospital is in your area I strongly recommend bringing your pets here. It is definitely a trustworthy establishment.

My boyfriend and I adopted our dog through Saving Grace and her Furry Friends, Crystal Lake Animal Hospital is the vet they use to take care of all of their rescues. I cannot tell you how pleased I am to have continued bringing my dog here to be treated. The staff is awesome and the doctor really knows what hes talking about. My dog was attacked by two other dogs and they took very good care of my dog. Service prompt and thorough, I never have an issue scheduling any appointments as they are extremely accommodating and I feel confident that they are treating him well always. I absolutely recommend this place to others, Its nice to have a "family" doctor for your pet!

Our little Shih Tzu started his life with us as a scared, confused and "dumped" rescue dog. The "rescue lady" took us to Crystal Lake Animal Hospital for him to be checked and treated. What a great experience. Every member of the staff was courteous, friendly and efficient. The doctor took his time and thoroughly checked out this poor little dog, who turned out to be at least ten years old! He needed shots, dental work and neutering. Everything was done smoothly and with such care. We are so grateful and highly recommend this place. Our little Buddy is today a healthy, happy member of our home!

I have been using Crystal Lake Animal Hospital since 2004. This is a well run and caring place. Dr Melgey, Rachel, Linda, Tiffany, David, Jackie and Adriana always make you feel part of the family and are very caring and give great medial care to our special loved ones. I cannot rate them any higher in every respect! I cannot give them a ga high enough rating they are Pawsome! My little ones do not fear going to their Doctors, always happy to go through the door. After going to a vet for over twelve years and all of a sudden getting little service I found Crystal Lake Animal Hospital. I am soooooo thrilled to have found a vet that seems to actually enjoy his job and loves animals. The staff was fantastic and the doctor took the time to explain things to me that a vet of over 12 years never did !!! I was shocked at the very reasonable rates charged too! All around a wonderful first time experience. They even called me later to see how my baby was doing !! Extremely happy with everyone at Crystal Lake Animal Hospital and look forward to many years with them.

I had a very bad experience with the stuff in the past. Basically I was told that no charges were to be made for my cats for a misunderstanding for a boarding. I offered to immediately go to pick my 4 cats once I realized that I dropped them on the wrong place. However, as they were past patient of the clinics and were receiving vaccine that morning, one stuff member tells me to pick them up in the afternoon. Once I arrive, the general manager tells me that I have to pay $100 for boarding. I paid it, and never went there again!!!

We not only trust Dr. Melgey and the staff at Crystal Lake with our own dogs, but we have also taken many of our rescue group dogs to Crystal Lake for checkups, spay, and treatment, so we trust them with all vet concerns, big and small. They are very accommodating with all of our rescue dogs, even those who might be temperamental during their vet visits. We receive excellent care for our personal dogs and rescue dogs equally. Highly recommend. Caring facility. Debbie Beracha.
