My husband goes to Dr. Russell and hes an excellent doctor and cares about his patients. So I would recommend him to anyone. If it was just about the doctor. The staff at this practice, however, leaves much to be desired. One thing that has bothered me from the start is that no live person picks up the phone when you call their practice. You get an answering machine, and good luck getting someone to call you back. On a few occasions we had to call a couple times before anyone would respond. It can be extremely frustrating. Once they said that they would call a prescription in to the pharmacy, but it never happened, so we had to go back and get a paper prescription. Sometimes they would collect co-pay, sometimes they wouldnt, so the co-payment almost seemed arbitrary to us. Then, several months later, my husband gets a bill in the mail for unpaid co-pay, and they claimed that he had been sent several notices already and was way past due, but he never got any notices prior to this one, so it was a big and unpleasant surprise. And then this morning he got called by a collector demanding even more payment for something at this practice, but the collector couldnt even say what it was for. My husband called the practice this morning to try to clear up the billing snafu, but, as usual, only got the answering machine and he is still waiting to get called back. In the meantime, the collector has called again to ask what he was able to find out. A lot of hassle just because the staff at this practice is so NOT on the ball. Its unfortunate, really, since Dr. Russell really is a good doctor. But based on my husbands experience with the periphery of his practice, I know I wont be calling them for my medical needs.

Re: Denise Hunt, nurse practitioner Since 2011 our mother was attended to by nurse practitioner Denise Hunt. Mom had very little medical issues, even at age 103; she was immobilized in 2000 due to a back injury / arthritis and had been in a local nursing home 12+ years. We were very impressed by Denise. She has a patient, gentle communicative manner with geriatrics. She immediately responded to family phone calls, clearly defined medical issues and offered options of treatment/medicines. She was a constant in the nursing home...reassuring to family that there would be a personal familiarity with mom, consistency of care and a recognizable face. In the last week of her life, Denise visited the room constantly, kept us informed of tests, moms status and even questioned our emotional coping. We recommend Denise for her competency, responsiveness and sensitivity. Our daughter is an ICU registered nurse, proceeding to a NP degree. We are well aware of the education, experience and expertise needed. Only one office interaction="Kristen" efficiently completed burial paperwork.

Dr. Hansel is the best doctors I have ever had the pleasure to be seen by. I would recommend him to anyone. He is thorough and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure I understand what he expects me to do to get better or stay well.

Staff is rude, will not return phone calls. Dr Hansel was my doctor when I could get an appointment, and he wasnt very helpful. Good luck getting a prescription refillef. I have been waiting for weeks.

They are very thoughtful, caring, and helpful. Great building, great staff, and good location. They do not treat me like a patient, Im more like a friend to them.
