My experience is on par with Brandons. I disagree with the comment above... 1 star reviews are for people who have lives and love their animal and want to speak up about it. To help people not make the same mistake as they did. I have never gave a rating to anyone in my entire life until the life of my puppy was at stake. Let me start off by saying I have a 9 week old Cane Corso AKA Italian Mastiff. His name is Sully and just to give some background, he had his ears clipped at 7 weeks old before I adopted him. He came home with stitches and instructions on care. So after a week of Sully being home with me, I notice swelling and hardening of both ears with yellow discharge and a foul smell. I knew it was sign of infection so I came to Tampa Veterinary Hospital because this was the only Vet open at the time. I sit in the waiting room after 3 hours and finally see Dr. Webster...as I walk in, it feels like a background check. "What do you do for a living?" And other personal questions as she begins to verbalize her disdain for cropped ears and its old fashioned. AND FINALLY after talking for an hour about dog food and how she hates ear cropping, she addresses his infected ears. And says "yes thats infected lets do antibiotics and warm compresses." After all this there was no mention of an incision and drainage to clean out the infected suture area. I was told that it is not drain-able and it is scar tissue...At this point I knew she did not know what she was talking about because there was obvious drainage oozing out the suture line! And I was also blamed for letting him scratch his ears, which is not the case since he wears the cone 24/7. So at the end of this visit, I am sent home with antibiotics, and instructions to come back if there is green/yellow drainage coming out the wound or foul smell. So in 3 days I do return due to the drainage (Even though there was drainage before I came the first time) and actually increasing swelling and color change of the wound. And this visit I meet another bright doctor, Dr. Abercrombie. This time there was no background check (since they got all the information they couldve possibly received the first time) however immediately she expresses more hatred and passes judgement for ear cropping by stating, "I have never cropped a dogs ear nor will I ever do such a thing, why did you even opt for that?" After wasting my life away in that room and getting accused for animal cruelty, she says that its only draining because of the warm compresses that you are doing...I was speechless! No mention of incision and drainage or any local treatment for the ears! And you just told something that I already knew. So thank you for not helping. You can sense my frustration Im sure. I did not pay 350$ for both visits for nothing to be done for my puppy and for his life to be in danger. Im sure that even for someone that does not have any medical knowledge would know that the ear needs to be drained. I understand that information is needed from the owner to begin treatment so I am not being extremely critical but please treat the severe infection first then we can talk about our lives. Also I understand that most people do not know the benefits of ear cropping, and for Sullys breed the benefits far outweigh the risks for health reasons. So do not pass judgement until you gather all the facts. And since you do not know all the facts about ear cropping then refer me to a vet who has experience with that, do NOT just give information that you are unsure if it will work! If given enough time, infections can turn into sepsis and then septic shock and then death. So please DO NOT DELAY CARE. But heres the kicker...they wanted me to come back and spend 200$+ for more antibiotics and no cure! Long story short I did not return to continue to see how long they would delay real treatment for Sully, for he was dying. So I did research and found All Pet Care Hospital. Immediately he was taken to surgery to have ears drained. APCH saved Sully.Take notes Tampa Veterinary Hospital. Stop wasting time. Go to Yelp

I have taken my pets to Tampa Vet now since a recommendation from a great friend in 2008 and have ceased to be disappointed with the ever lasting professionalism and kindness of the staff and Vets at this clinic. As I live in South St Petersburg, my friends thought me crazy to make the trip with three crazy excited dogs (yes, thats right,I said excited) in the truck and make the haul across the Howard Franklin Bridge "just to go to the vet" Those same friends are now also clients of T.V.H. The up to date knowledge and handling of my animals to always make they have a positive experience is second to none and a priceless asset for any practice in my eyes. ( Anyone who has a pet that HATES the veterinary office trip can understand how stressful a simple office visit can become.) My pets have received care from all of the veterinarians Dr. Webster, Dr. Gullegde, Dr.Chambliss and Dr Gordon and I have never had any doubts to my dogs medical care or safety they even remember them from trip to trip. I love that they are up to date with all of the latest medical information down to the simplest things such as sending out my reminders within plenty of time not months after they are due to keep the fur kids up to date. I am also signed up to get emails on all the latest coupons and specials with not only shots but fantastic prices on dentals / flea and heartworm medication too! I have never felt like it was about "making a buck" at T.V.H. and it has always remained being solely about the health of my animals. Recently diagnosed with health issues myself, the courteous staff even helped me with a simple phone call upon my arrival to assist me and my pet into the clinic and safely return us to my vehicle after the visit with a great attitude and always a smile. Its just so refreshing to know you are getting GENUINE CARE and RESPECT from a business and that means a lot and keeps me coming back time and time again all the way from South St Petersburg. (Approx 30miles each way). I always have and always will recommended Tampa Vet to all of my friends, family and colleagues. The quality of customer service alone just cant be beat. OH and I have never waited longer than 5 minutes past my scheduled appointment time! BIG ++++ Thank you to all at T.V.H for always making mine, Pippa, Charlie and Fidgets visits so enjoyable.

From my first visit I began to feel as if this "vet hospital" was just a marketing ploy. Their site came up first on Google, I saw it on many google ads and it had high reviews. All things which can be bought. The service did *not* measure up. All 3 appointments I waited no less than 30 minutes to an hour *after* my appointment time to be seen. After getting into the room, I always waited no less than 15 minutes for anyone to come in and see my cat. No appointment was less than $150, including the *mandatory* appointment for them to see your cat before they will spay or neuter. The first appointment, they refused to schedule or even talk to me about the spay after I came in because they wanted to give her antibiotics / anti-inflammatory medication for having flea bites. That was OK--but then they made me pay for *another* separate appointment at $150 for the same thing, to which, they would do a spay at a *different* date for $320 and keep my cat all day. Not only is that a few hundred over priced but the very first appointment I had, they promised me they would always find an alternative treatment to anti-inflammatory because my last cat had a bad reaction to it and she died. The doctor which promised this told me she put that note in the computer--a system they had so all of the doctors there would know each patient very well so everyone had a good experience with them. When I told the next doctor about that and request another way to treat my kitten, she dismissed me and said it wasnt a big deal and I shouldnt worry about it. So much for knowing about and caring for your patients. They continued calling me for a while and it almost sounded as if they were trying to scare me into calling them back and coming in--all they would say is "we have information about your cat" (which they hadnt seen in a month or two--what news could they possibly have). After those messages I had to write a review about my continued horrible experience. I certainly will *not* be going back. Personally, as a marketing professional, I find it very suspicious reviews are either 1 star or 5.
