Dr. McGrath is absolutely THE BEST VET in this entire area! He is kind, caring, thorough and extremely knowledgeable. I am a savvy and sophisticated consumer when it comes to medicine both for my family and my pets, and there is no vet who tops Brian McGrath in so many ways. I have been going to Dr. McGrath for over a decade, following him through 2 other vet centers and now to his own in Sherman Oaks. I am not a “schlepper” but getting my dog the best care possible means going to Dr. McGrath---and driving from Pacific Palisades to the valley as I pass many other veterinarians along the way. Brian McGrath graduated from the top vet school on the East Coast, and is smart and wise when it comes to diagnostics and treatment. He is also an outstanding surgeon. I went to a W.L.A. animal hospital several years back and asked the staff who their best surgeon was (out of a couple dozen doctors that worked there) and they recommended Dr. McGrath. The surgery went flawlessly and Dr. McGrath was so conscientious at follow-up afterwards. Compassionate is an understatement when referring to Dr. McGrath. He came in to his closed office on his day off when my beloved dog was dying. He talked with me and helped me understand why putting him to sleep was truly the best option. I could not have had anyone better---with his huge and caring heart, to be with me but Dr. McGrath at that difficult time. And, if this was not enough for an outstanding vet, there is one more thing: his prices. Dr. McGrath is extremely fair in all of his charges. He does not recommend additional treatments that jack up bills but may be unnecessary. His skill and the amount of time he spends doing thorough exams are first rate, but his charges for such high-quality treatment are not. The old adage: “you pay for what you get” does not apply when it comes to Dr. McGrath. Go to this happily married father of four---and son who grew up inspired by his father, also a veterinarian, and you will be as devoted a follower of Dr. McGrath as I have been for past last dozen years.

I cannot say enough about this place. Our cat was very ill, but the doctors not only did everything they could but were compassionate, understanding, and practical every step of the way. We lost our sweet kitty, but they helped us to make sure we did what was best for her comfort and quality of life. Thank you so much.
