OP Smiles Orthodontics has provided good quality treatment for me. I am a transfer patient, and I am very pleased that OP Smiles is able to work with my pre-existing set of braces. Drs. Michael Mayhew & Nicole Scheffler are knowledgeable and up-to-date in the field of orthodontics. They and most of the staff are friendly and I look forward to seeing them at my appointments. Overall, I am well pleased with my treatment from OP Smiles. However, there are a few things that I experienced or noticed which Id like to mention. 1. The office is, at times, disorganized and thus not very efficient. On two occasions my paper- work was confused with another person who shared my first name. On two other occasions, a bracket was misplaced and tools were unorganized. 2. Sanitation and blood-borne pathogen compliance expectations at times seem inconsistent. For example, an assistant put a bracket on the tool with bare hands. On several occasions I observed inconsistency regarding the use of face shields (or safety glasses) for both the assistants and patient. Mirrors used by patients for inspection are not always cleaned. However, it seems on most occasions they comply with all high-level regulations concerning sanitation. 3. When I first began treatment with OP Smiles, the waiting periods were rather long, between a half hour and hour wait. However, this may have been driven because I was a transfer patient. Since that time, the waiting periods have reduced to 10 to 15 minutes. 4. Automatic payment options are somewhat restrictive, but this probably circumvents any billing issues encountered by paper-based options.

The experience I first got when I came here for dental work seemed to start off like a normal yearly cleaning but right before they were about to start the cleaning, the dentist left for like 45 minutes to talk to someone about nothing related to dentistry (I knew because she was close and I could hear what they were talking about). I thought this experience was bad, but my sisters went to have more dental work done and their experiences were even worse. One had to have cavities filled and the other have a crown placed. Again, they left one of my sisters sitting in the chair alone for a long period of time. Both of my sisters came back complaining about how bad their mouths hurt(they had also had similar dental work done elsewhere and had no trouble with pain). The first time the cavities were filled, they did not fill them all. When she came back after the second filling, she started to talk about her experience and she said the drill hit her lip but refused to go into further explanation. The next day, her lips looked funny and when she opened her mouth, it was full of sores. We are NEVER going back to this dentist to have work done and I hope anyone reading this decides to do the same.

Great practice, highly recommended. We have been going to OP Smiles for pediatric dentistry and now orthodontia for my daughter for about 6 months. We could not be more pleased - everyone is very knowledgeable, friendly, and the biggest thing - the "Disney World of Dentistry" atmosphere is exceptionally helpful for my daughter who has developed a fear of dentists after a few prior bad experiences. The wait times arent anything beyond what I get at any other doctor or dentist - about 15 minutes, and my daughter has never been left alone waiting for any abnormal length of time. I appreciate the options for payment plans, and the billing offices willingness to assist with getting our insurance claims processed (NOTE: They do not actually participate in-network with any plans, but these days, it seems no one does). Due to a lack of quality pediatric care in my area, we drive out here for an hour and a half each way - which is a HUGE inconvenience - but worth it.

Absolutely the best dental/orthodontic group! My daughter was born with a cleft lip & palate and needs a lot of orthodontic work. Her teeth look are looking amazing! She also has Aspergers and Sensory Issues and the staff help her cope with visits that make her anxious. Everyone on staff is friendly, fun and very professional. OP Smiles makes children AND their parents SMILE!

Being one who FINALLY got braces in my mid thirties, I was anxious and self conscious. The additional care Ive received from all of the staff; from schedulers, to orthodontic assistants, to the orthodontists has been superb. I think that the staff is as excited for me as I am for myself! OP Smiles has made this experience a wonderful one. I highly recommend this office.

Absolutely the best pediatric dental office around! Their love for children shines through. My boys are always treated well and receive amazing care from all the practitioners and their staff. The dentists, orthodontists, and hygienists take the time to explain all of the procedures to us, and offer helpful hints and advice as needed. I highly recommend this practice!
