I heard about this place online through a bearded dragon group. I recently got a young beardie and over the course of a few days, she started having leg spasms & would not eat. So on Sunday, I call right when they open and ask if theyll take reptiles, they say yes. So I drive an hour and a half to this vet, and they say oh the reptile vet isnt even in today. Umm?? Common sense shouldve told you to tell me that when I called. So we see another vet, and they say to call with any questions after the exam. They also took a fecal sample & said the results would be in, IN A COUPLE OF DAYS. So on Monday, I call because she is not getting any better, getting worse actually. Apparently the reptile vet already left for the day, so I leave a message & the staff tells me he will call back tomorrow. By Tuesday evening, still no call. So I call again, & they say he will call me back. On Wednesday, I call again...no response from this vet, his staff just keeps saying they will leave him notes. On Friday, (almost a week since Ive gone to the vet) Im in the shower & get a voicemail saying my pet has parasites & to call for treatment options. So I call back maybe 15 minutes later, of course the reptile vet is finishing up an exam & the message will be passed along. Ok, so an hour and fifteen minutes later, I was vacuuming my babys cage out (because if she has parasites the cage needs to be cleaned) so I do not hear the phone ring until it goes to voicemail. I call literally 2 seconds later after I miss the call & the staff tells me the vet is in the middle of an exam??? He literally just called! I chew them out so they get him on the phone & I also chew him out. I mean, I drove almost 2 hours and spent almost 150 at this place & theyre not giving any customer service at this point. He then gets frustrated and says this isnt his fault, because he had no notes left for him to call me. UHM?? I tell him THAT IS NOT MY FAULT! IT IS YOUR STAFFS PROBLEM OBVIOUSLY. I can tell he is super annoyed at me, I do apologize to him, but as a vet, he needs to take the responsibility for his staff. He says he will fax the meds my pet needs to my local vet, and they will call me when thats done. I get a call 2 hours later, at 4:15, from the vet staff saying they have faxed the prescription to my local vet, & they tell me the vet I have chosen closes at 5, I say ok thanks. By this point, my father is on his way home from work, & stops at my local vet to get the meds before the vet closes, since it is a Friday & we need the meds as soon as possible. He gets there AFTER the staff has told me they sent the fax, but theres no fax from the Cyfair vet?? So he calls them, & they say oh we have an emergency, we cant send it right now. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME, I just spoke with a lady who said they sent it? At 4:50, it took my local vet staff calling Cyfair & getting rude to be able to get the fax sent over. This place has been absolutely ridiculous, and has no customer service skills.

I took my dog here this morning for what I think is a bladder infection. They are not my regular vet but they are open on Sundays while my regular vet is not. They were very nice and welcoming when we arrived. They were able to squeeze us in. They were quick to get us into a room and have a vet tech get vitals and info. Then they took him back for some tests. They have to send out for the results so those wont come back until tomorrow but he started my pup on an antibiotic and anti inflammatory med to help him out until the test results come back so he doesnt get worse. He told me he would call with the results and those will determine if we need to make any changes to the medications. I was very happy with them and relieved to be able to get my boy in on a Sunday with the added bonus of paying vet prices instead of emergency vet prices. I would go back to them! Update: while my initial review was positive, I was frustrated with the fact that I had a hard time getting the doctor to call me back with the test results. It took three weeks to finally talk to the vet. (Hurricane Harvey did shut them down for a few days so cant fault them for those few days but that still leaves about 18-19 days they were available to call me back) I called several times to ask about the results and was told that only a doctor could tell them to me. They would tell me that they would have the doctor call me back but he never did. I would call back later in the day and they would tell me he was already gone for the day. Eventually I voiced my frustration with one of the ladies answering the phones and she put me on hold while he finished with a patient and then he spoke to me. Turns out that the results showed something was wrong...would have been nice to get a jump start on that 20 days before when they had the results instead of waiting so long. My summary...they were fine in a pinch but I dont have plans to switch from my regular vet to them after their lack of follow through.

Best vet visit EVER! Ill start by saying the best thing about my visit was watching my dog just looking out the window of his own individual room while he was waiting to be seen by the vet. No shaking, no nervousness, no cowering. He was just happily observing and watching. I think he knew he was in good hands and in a good place. When I arrived, the staff were so sweet and immediately took us back to an individual room. Since my dog is reactive, this was a welcome surprise and much better than other vets Ive been to where I had to stress while waiting in a mass waiting room with other dogs. When it came time to check out a potentially big problem with my dog, I wanted someone who would take good care of him. Given my mixed experiences with my previous vet, I was willing to give a new place a chance. This clinic feels new, clean and modern. Dr. Blue did a thorough examination of my dog and gave an explanation in language I could understand. It felt like he really cared about providing good care and not at all about just trying to take me for as much money as possible (as I know some vets come across). Every time I have to take my Great Dane to the vet I feel a knot in my stomach because of the bills I usually walk away with but not with Cy-Fair Animal Hospital!!! I will never take my dog to any other vet again! Thank goodness this place opened just minutes away from my house but even if they didn’t they are worth the drive. My sister drives from Hersey Village just for the price and service she gets at Cy-Fair.
