The only reason I give this pain management clinic two stars is that the nurse who took all of my information was genuinely concerned about my treatment and condition. She was a heaven send. Unfortunately, that is where the positive ends. I have myotonic dystrophy type one, which is why I was referred to this place as my disease is extremely painful. I currently take opiate meds to control my pain, I dont care for it, but there is no cure or real treatment, just bandaids, and, unfortunately, pain killers are the only things that work so thats that pretty much. The doctor came into my room and essentially treated me as some kind of drug addict. He first said since I take Valium, I could die from the combo of opiates and benzodiazepines, which is silly because Ive been taking both for years. I barely take the Valium, doesnt really help with my DM1, and I said I was fine with discontinuing so I could get proper treatment, but apparently that was never an option since he pretty much ignored my response. He told me he didnt know much about my condition, even though he claimed to know much about neurological disorders, and I told him I had a ton of research from the National Institute of Health and would be happy to share so we could work together, to which he replied he was not there to learn from patients. That shocked me right down to the ground. He then offered me an extreme treatment which is known to not work with DM1, and then proceeded to tell me they will not help me because they dont know anything about my disease. He even went so far as to suggest that I dont have DM1, even though I have a proven diagnosis, and said he wasnt really sure why I was referred to pain mgmt in the first place. This doctor I saw has flat lost his bedside manner and has become a judgemental ass. I apologize for the length of my review, but I felt the need to let people know how terribly I was treated in hopes of preventing this from happening to someone else. Just because someone takes an opiate pain killer does not mean that person is a drug addict. This stigma needs to end and the doctors need to be the first to step up and end it. So many people are out there suffering like me from the bad and judgemental attitudes of doctors like him. It is such a shame.

My experience with the staff, nurses and doctors was great. The issue I am having is with their billing service. They want to charge me for an procedure I never had. My insurance requires me to have a pre authorization before I could have an epidural injection. After the center received the pre authorization I got a phone call from them to inform me that they had received it and my appointment for a single injection was made. I went in, had my injection and was told if my pain showed improvement that after a couple of weeks the center would request another pre authorization from my insurance for another single shot. I got a call from the center, I was told they had my pre authorization and another appointment was made. I went in, had another single injection, with unfortunately no pain relief. A few weeks later I had cervical spine fusion and know Im doing great. Well six months later I get a bill from the billing service telling me that I had two injections on my first visit when my insurance only pre authorized for one. They are telling me that I owe $1,500.00 for a procedure that I never even had! my insurance company is investigating the claim, but in the meantime the billing service, with no sensible reason at all has sent the claim to a collection agency. This is very disturbing.

I am very surprised at reading the negatives reviews. Ive been going to this location for about two years and have had nothing but good experiences every time with nurses, doctors and office staff. Ive never been made to feel like Im a drug addict and I feel as if the doctors really do believe and understand (as much as they can) my pain. Ive utilized their psychological department in the past and even those doctors and staff treated me with nothing but respect and empathy. Even though there isnt much that can be done for my pain except the current treatment Im under, I appreciate that they have always had a patient ear while I talk about my pain, and have made various suggestions of things I can do to help me stretch the hours between dosages so that I do not take more than I should.

Julio seemed to want to argue with me and said I would be treated for L3-L4 when my surgeon requested the injection be at the L4-L5. I was very concerned but Julio insisted I was wrong. When the doctor came in, I asked him what he planned to do and thankfully, he said L4-L5. The rest of the visit was very good. However, Ive been trying to call about my next appointment and cant get anyone to answer the phone. One time I reached a recording that said they were closed between 12:30-1:30 and I should leave a message and they would call me back. It was 11:30 when I called and nobody ever called me back even though I left my phone number for them to reach me. Last time I tried again, I received a "fast busy" signal which usually means a phone is off the hook.

I wish there was a zero button. This place is so unhelpful and out right rude! I called a year ago and the person that answered the phone told me they couldnt offer any help to me before I could Even explain any of my issues. Now a year later, same thing. Im labeled in their system just to say no immediately apprently even though I have New Chronic issues and horrible pain. Guess I shouldnt expect much from Beaumont at all since Ive been suffering and passed off, told my pains in my head and had to go to multiple doctors to finally get taken seriously only to find out my conditions could kill me without proper treatment. F^$$^#& THEM!

Julio Duronio, PA-C is a complete incompetent fool. I have an EMG that shows nerve damage, two MRIs that show disc damage and have been in constant pain since september of 2016. This ignoramus looked me in the face and basically told me I was fine. I was so appalled and caught off gaurd by his stupidity, that I was rendered speechless. Dont waste your money or time.

The staff is phenomenal! And Dr Pappas rules. I have been going to this clinic for around three years and they have been nothing but fantastic to me. Any idiot who has complaints about this location is apparently brain-dead! I have never seen or heard any disparaging remarks or any attitude out of any of the employees there!
