these people are liers . one says one thing then denies it. the doctor doesnt stand by what his staff says. these unprofessional poor excuses for staff constantly put me in a he said she said every time I went there . I gave Dr Sekut my dogs lab work for evaluation. I had to keep going back and providing the lab work over and over until I finally had to make an appointment face to face. he kept saying he would read the labs and get back in touch but never would. his staff misplaced labs every time I left them there Im sure none of the staff has any official training and would be willing to bet no background checks have been on anybody there. i took my perfectly fine dog in for a test and she is nearly dead. after Dr Sekut and his untrained unprofessional staff handled my dog she has been in and out of ER and internal specialist for weeks ever since. he refereed us to a specialist and refused to send an ultra sound so my pet could be evaluated saying I owed him money for it. I paid 500.00 cash for it and was told I would have to assist him during the procedure. 45 min into the procedure he leaves to get his allergy shot and tells me to go wait some where. I fully believe they abused my dog in their office and i am convinced they hit her abused her and medically catastrophically injured my dog. she went in a happy bouncy dog for what was suppose to be a simple test and has been in and out of ER s ever since. other vetenarians have said they sounded like a mess over there. one vetenarian told me dr sekut stopped in his office one day and said teach me all you can as fast as you can I want to go back into vetinary medicine. Dr Sekut and his untrained unprofessional staff have basically killed my dog. she is lifeless barely eats and is literally barely alive after 1 test at his office. he did not follow proper protocol after a pancreatitis dx and that became out of control. Do Not take your pet here if you want it to live. they are abusers and killers

Dr. Sekut and his staff are as good as it gets in Hampton Roads. I had to make a vet change and I couldnt be happier we decided to come here. From the first phone call, the staff was understanding of our situation and got us an immediate appointment. When we arrived, they worked with us the fill out the paperwork while joyfully keeping the dogs occupied. Dr. Sekut is by far the most knowledgeable and compassionate veterinarian Ive ever encountered and thats saying something since I tend to move every couple of years. He took his time to investigate what I passed from previous vet visits and discovered an diagnosed condition in my pug. Not only did he do that, he worked with us to prescribe the right medication taking every single possible factor into account, such as price, availability and of course effectiveness. Because of this, my pug might as well be a new dog; full of energy and enthusiasm again, rather than aches and pains I never would have known about had it not be for Dr. Sekut. If youre looking for a good vet in this area and cant decide which one, come here! Dr. Sekut and his staff work with you on every aspect of your pets health and make sure youre informed. Overall, from day one we felt like family there. Everyone is incredibly friendly and they work with your specific needs. Ive found my vet for as long as I can stay in the Hampton Roads area. For the poor reviewers here, I hope they can understand that Dr. Sekut runs this place as a basic vet as well as an emergency vet. The staff has always notified me in the event that there is an emergency going on and he may be running a little late. He hasnt ran late on us yet, even with emergencies present.

I first met Dr. Sekut on a Friday evening after work when our puppy wasnt feeling well. I went to him because a friend recommended him and he was the only vet still open after 5 pm (besides the emergency vet - where I did NOT want to go). When Dr. Sekut entered the room and saw my puppy, his eyes lit up and his countenance became overjoyed; there was no doubt he LOVED animals. He assured me there was nothing to worry about and prescribed medication which did the trick. There was no doubt Id be back to see Dr. Sekut with our other dogs. The following week our 13 year old Golden Doodle became extremely ill. I had already scheduled an appointment on Saturday for a check up, but by the time we arrived at Dr. Sekuts office, I was afraid she was going to die. He examined her and informed us she had an infected uterus and would die without surgery (an emergency hysterectomy). Without pressuring me, I made the decision to do everything possible to save her life. He informed me of the chances of survival, prescribed medications to clear infection prior to surgery, and instructed me to return on Monday for surgery. When I picked her up, Dr. Sekut spent time explaining what he found and providing instructions for her care post-op. By the next morning, my precious dog was doing extremely well. I honestly credit Dr. Sekut with saving her life! I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Sekut and will be a loyal customer for many years to come.

Ive had the best experience at Newport News Animal Hospital. My black labrador retriever had extremely flaky skin and I originally went to another veterinary clinic who prescribed 2 weeks worth of medication; however, after 2 weeks his skin was not getting better. I called that veterinarian clinic for a follow up appointment and was told Id have to pay for the veterinary exam again. I thought this was ridiculous since they already saw my dog two weeks earlier and knew that he is having skin issues. I took a leap of faith and called Newport News Veterinary Hospital and got an appointment. Dr. Sekut was very personable and suggested a stronger medication. Two weeks later my dog still had flaky skin, I made another appointment at Newport News Veterinary Hospital and after a blood test it was discovered that my dog had hypothyroidism. I am very pleased with the service I received from the friendly staff and how open to suggestions Dr. Sekut was for testing my dog for hypothyroidism. My dog turned 3 years old a few months ago, so its rare for a dog so young to have hypothyroidism. What I like the most about Dr. Sekut is how he explains what he plans to do and how he thoroughly explains the condition that is diagnosed. They are not there to rip you off like a lot of other veterinarians. I will recommend this veterinarian to anyone with furkids and I will always use them.

Superior animal care, very affordable, and a very friendly environment!! Im so thankful i found this place especially after going through a horrible ordeal with my dogs leg amputation at Helping Hands, Richmond, the Newport News animal hospital was a god send. Only a few days after picking up Charlie from his operation at Helping hands, everything started to go wrong; his stitches started to fall out, his wound got infected and the cut looked savagely put together. I was so scared, and i didnt know what to do especially since i was on a tight budget and Charlies operation had already cost me a good amount of money. After searching online I decided to go to Newport News Animal hospital because they had great reviews and I will never regret that decision. They have a friendly knowledgeable staff who made me feel safe and I did not have to wait long to be attended. Dr. Les Sekut told me that they had butchered Charlies amputation but that he would do his best to fix it. And he did that and so much more ! He is an amazing veterinarian. In less than an hour he was able to open him up, disinfect his wound, and repair everything. Im so thankful i found them, i really do feel they saved my dogs life. Now Charlie is healing very well, and he is looking forward to being a very active tripod doggy. Thank you, Dr. Les Sekut and Staff!!!! :)
