I have only seen this man once in early Jan. 2014. They wanted to see me back in 6 mos to a year. I told the receptionist upon leaving that I would call for one. 6 mos later they called to remind me of my appointment with them. I called and said there must be a mistake. I didnt make one. So.... I had an appointment in February 2015. It was on a Monday and there was a terrible snowstorm coming. On Sunday night I called and left a message with the answering service that I would not be in for my appointment as my 79 year old aunt would not be able to drive me(giving them all my info) and she said they would call me back to make another appointment. NO CALL from them that week. ONLY a certified NASTY letter I received on Thursday from him. The jist of that letter... I deprived others from seeing him when they needed him... that if should I want to go with someone else he was more than willing to help me find someone. That in the future should this happen they had the right to deny me service. I called the Business Office manager (with no apology from her) and she was of no help either. I know these letters are generated but the DR. DOES have to approve them. I asked the manager how many people didnt make it that day and she was honest...ALOT! So I fired him before he could fire me. How do you treat the elderly like this...SHAME ON THEM! And now I ask...why would I even want to go back or trust them to find me someone else?!

I had some surgery at the Wolfe Eye Clinic and I have to say the beginning was rocky and the end was disappointing. I had Dr. Davison as my surgeon and he was excellent, his nurse was awesome and the people at the surgery center that is owned by the docs at Wolfe were great. The beginning was bad because the office staff seemed to be short and rude on the phone. I found out I needed to have this surgery a couple of weeks before my offices deadline to change the insurance plan you have chosen. I called to get an idea of what this was going to run me under both plans I was offered. Let’s just say I got the run around. The consult and surgery went great and I was actually excited to be there and get the surgery over with. The disappointing end of my eye treatment is that I was sent back to my optometrist and although not a huge deal for the post op follow up which every time a member of my family has had surgery the surgeon does this as part of his or her fee. I was told I did not owe anything because it was included until 2 months later when I got the past due notices from my regular optometrist. Now I owed them another $100 for the follow up. This surgery is not cheap to start with and part of it is to blame on my own insurance company, but I feel the post op exam should have been explained and that I should have had the option to have the actual surgeon check out his handiwork.

I had my annual appointment for macular degeneration. My appointment lasted 2 1/2 hours. When I complained to Dr. Alleman about the time factor, he fired me as a patient. He suggested another doctor who is not a specialist. (In legal terms this is called abandonment.) In the end, we came to the conclusion that I dont need to come back for two years, both knowing full well that I will find another doctor by that time. I know the delay was not his fault, but he could have/should have showed understanding in the fact that I had to call my employer and let them know I was going to be late. Lip service would have been nice ("I am so sorry Mrs...., but we had an emergency and my staff should have let you known there would be a delay...I will talk to them.") We both would understand this is a lie, but at least he would have acknowledged my frustration. Wolfe Clinic is a good clinic for eye care, however their policy of rack em, pack em, and stack em shows no regard for their patients nor the family members that bring them and wait and wait and wait for service.

My experience with cataract surgery was extremely positive. Within thirty minutes following cataract surgery by Dr.James Davison at Marshalltown on April 10,2017, I was able to read small print on the television. Before surgery I would have not been able to see anything on the television-let alone small print. Several days later I could see the stars which I had not seen without glasses or contacts in 55-60 years. The following week I had the second cataract surgery. As I had mono vision contacts prior to surgery,I chose to keep that vision correction with cataract surgery. Within a few hours of surgery I could read the small print on a credit card. Cataract surgery has been such a gift. Not only has my night vision, which was a major issue, improved drastically but the ability to see anytime of the day or night without correction has been so easy to adjust to and has greatly improved my quality of life. Thank you Dr,Davison and staff for the great care and outcome!

Had Lasik vision correction on 5-28-2015 with Dr. James Davison after 20+ years of wearing glasses every day. 1 day after the procedure I was at 20/20 vision in both eyes and now Im stable at 20/15, thats better than "perfect". Dr. Davison and his nurses were great in explaining the entire process and what to expect. 1yr later and I couldnt be happier no more worrying about losing or scratching my glasses, fogging up going in and out in the winter, kids pulling on my glasses. It has been a wonderful experience. From the 1st appointment with Dr. Gimbel for a routine eye exam and asking her if I would be a candidate for Lasik, to the evaluation with Dr. Davison and the follow up with Dr. Cornish. It was a pleasure from beginning to end!

Have always had excellent care from Wolfe Eye Clinic just noticed some distortion in vision in left eye saw Dr. Par at the Wolfe Eye Clinic in West Des Moines had extensive Professional Testing from Eye Photographs and Eye Scans and was diagnosed with dry macular degeneration in my right eye which still has excellent vision and wet macular degeneration in my left eye where I noticed the distortion,,,caught it early and hopeful the vision in my left eye can be maintained or improved...Dr. Par gave me a shot of Lucentis in my left eye,,,did not hurt at all and no side effects the day afterwards. Dr. Par and all the Staff working with him were very upbeat, professional and helpful. I highly recommend Dr. Par and Wolfe Eye Clinic !

Been here since 8:00am. Still sitying here at 10:00am. 2 hours later and still havent seen the doctor. I drive from Knoxville. Last two times after 4 hrs of waiting i had to reschedule. Meantime i complain to the office manager who adked me to sit in her office and she said she would find out whats going on. I see on her computer she is surfing the net for beach front properties. She sticks me in a room and says someone will be right with me. Wait another 20 minutes nobody comes. I rescheduled, i had took several pictures of her computer with her beach front properties she was surfing instead of doing her job. And she is still here. No wonder this place runs on their time. What a joke.
