AVOID THIS PLACE. There are too many excellent dentists and staff out there, then to make a huge mistake going here. I made an appt. with Dr. Martin at ADC Mount Dora because of the good reviews. I was completely let down. The place is filthy. The bathroom smelled of urine and there was hair and dust on the floor and equipment. No one greeted me when I walked in; I signed the form and introduced myself. While the office manager loudly argued with the others about making a better system for patient billing, I sat in the waiting area for 45 minutes. Then we went back and took xrays. The staff was inattentive, cold, and didnt even smile. I then sat in a chair waiting for Dr. Martin another 45 minutes. I looked around a lot and the floors were dirty, and there was no plastic on the permanent dental tools. I looked into the water sprayer and there was junk in the base, and the other tool that they attach a toothbrush too had something that looked like dusty mold in it. I got up immediately after I saw that and explained to the front desk girl that I had been there for an hour and a half and had seen too much to want to stay, and she said that the Dr. was sorry, but she was with another patient. I said, "Couldnt someone at least come tell me that an hour ago?" There were 9 people chatting behind a counter and no one else around but me and another patient. I walked in at 3pm and left at 4:45pm...no Dr. She apologized, and I told her that if it was so hard to "communicate" with your patients (instead of gossiping behind the front desk) -- and you could at least clean your office and the dental tools -- this was not the place for me and my money. Also, the free coupon I had from their website was worthless, and I had to pay for the xrays that were supposed to be "free for new patients." But I will not be a patient because of THEIR inadequacy, so the bill was all mine. Plus, I got home to check the xrays and they were all of my bottom teeth! Where are the top teeth? I cant speak for Dr. Martin; I never met her. Yet, her staff and verbally aggressive office manager are in desperate need of serious organization, ambition, and heart. It could not have been more of a professional disaster. How hard is it to say "Hi!" and "the Dr. is running a little behind, would you like to reschedule or wait an hour and half more?"

Where do I begin? I took the Dental Insurance offered at work, and chose this office as my provider. Whether the fault of the insurance, or the business model of the provider, I feel like I was scammed. First visit, exams and X-Rays determined that I had periodontal disease, which MUST be treated before I could receive the cleanings and a crown that was covered by my insurance. The hygenist used what I would consider "scare" tactics to sell the most advanced treatment for gums "Arestin", which cost a lot of money PER TOOTH. Then, the crown which was supposed to cost like $275 copay under insurance, had UNDISCLOSED hidden lab fees and procedures. So 1st 2 visits cost me nearly $700.00 out of pocket. I made an appointment for a regular cleaning four months later, which I assumed should be 100% covered by insurance. The service provided was no different that any prophylaxis cleaning I have ever received (faithfully 2x year for many years). When I got to the counter, I was informed that it was Periodontal follow up, the charges were $xxx.00 I dont remember the exact amount because at this point I became furiously enraged and just wanted out of this office before I went postal on someone. OH YEAH<, When I went back to have the permanent crown set, I waited in a dental chair at the back end of the office, and was forgotten about. Only after a long time, someone coincidentally noticed that I had been there a while, and asked me what I was there for. I told them to get permanent crown. The dentist and assistant didnt even know I was there. Then, the crown I got was not made quite tight enough (all my other teeth are very tight) which now has created a massive food trap in the spaces between adjoining teeth. I will never return to this office. I have cancelled the Assurant Dental insurance. I will return to my old dentist and pay full cash price for service that I know and understand with people I can fully trust have MY best interest in mind, instead of making money for their business.

I am not very impressed with Dr Martin as , as a parent I never get to see the dentist. on my last visit I was told everything looked good by the hygienist and that Dr martin did not get the a chance to look at the x-rays but if there was anything wrong they would call once she looked at the x-rays. The reason for a dentist appointment is for the dentist to finish their patients visit and not leave for the day without the parent being consulted. I am sorry to say I have nave been a dentist office where after the child has been seen by the dentist the parent does not get to meet the dentist. Secondly I was told at the last six month checkup that the dentist sees the parent at the annual visit well it was an annual visit and no dentist to see !!!!! Initially when my kids were assigned to the dentist I did not get to meet with the dentist and when I asked I wanted to meet with the dentist then only they allowed me to see the dentist!!! When questioning the assistant who came out to ask that I had concerns and wanted to see the dentist. When I told her I was told on my last visit I was told that I would get to see the dentist, she questioned me who said that and I said someone in the front and she said the front does not know what the back office does!!! Well get your employees informed about the office policies please.!!!!! I am not impressed and not are my friends whom I recommended! For those of you who wish to have your kids visit a dentist and you as a parent not knowing and meeting the dentist then I would highly recommend this office.

Very pleased with my first experience at this office. I just moved to the area and broke a tooth before I could "find" a dentist. I called several dental offices on my insurance plan and no one could take me until the following week. I was afraid my filling would fall out and expose the roots and didnt want to wait that long especially over the weekend. I called Advanced Dental and was told they could see me that afternoon if I was willing to be worked in between patients. Everyone was very pleasant, I waited 15 minutes to see the dentist for an assessment. She examined my tooth, explained my options and costs from worst case to best scenarios, and said she could do the work that day if I wanted to wait. I agreed and they started with 2 x-rays of the tooth. The dentist, Dr. Edwards, and her assistant worked back and forth between me an another patient. Everyone explained exactly what they were doing. Dr. Edwards checked with me if everything was OK. Which it was. Barely felt the shots, and both dentist and assistant were very gentle. I was there 2 1/2 hours, but it was worth it. They started work on a crown and I walked out with a temporary one. While waiting I listened to interactions between staff and patients and between the staff themselves. Everyone was very friendly and projected a very positive atmosphere. The bill was less than the worst case option as I did not need a root canal. The office staff is also very pleasant. Hopefully I have found a new lifetime dentist for myself and my husband.
