I met Dr. Plunkett when he was with the Milford Vet Hospital many years ago and I have been taking my animals to Fairfield Vet Hospital since its inception. I have been bringing my beloved pets to "Good Dr. Plunkett" for almost twenty (20) years now! He has cared for my pet hamsters, guinea pigs, cats, and dogs with genuine concern, expert medical treatments and professionalism for all these years. Hence, why I do not hesitate to travel from West Haven to Fairfield, because I completely trust him and love the care he provides my pets. Dr. LaMorte is also an excellent Vet as well and she has helped my dog with his severe skin allergies for months-on-end until we got it resolved. She was always professional and very loving to my little Yorkie in the office. These doctors return calls promptly, appointments are usually on time and their staff is BAR NONE, just excellent to work with. Whether I have a medical question, need a RX refilled, or call to make an appointment, they ALL are professional, friendly & very efficient. These doctors are very lucky to have such a dedicated, knowledgeable and amazing staff for so many years with them. The staff know me and my pets by name and the office has a warm and inviting feel to it, just like home. I confidently refer everyone I know to them. Most of us know one day we will have to say goodbye to our beloved pets. Even during these extremely difficult and emotional visits, they are so empathetic and wonderful to both you and your pet during this unavoidable reality. It was so comforting to have them their with me, so patient and kind, when I had to let my beloved pets go. I CANNOT imagine taking or trusting my fur-babies to anyone else then these wonderful doctors and their staff! I am so, so appreciative of their phenomenal services they provide to my babies.Thank you ALL. :)

Our dog Cheddar has had a few issues over the years, one of which required surgery around his eye. The procedure was done beautifully and you would never know. In general, Cheddar is a nervous dog, and everyone in there treats him accordingly. He is completely loved and spoiled every time we go in. Treats, pets, and all kinds of loving from everyone on the staff. Not being scared is the most important thing to Cheddar. The most important thing to me is getting in quickly to see the vets when there is an issue and having Cheddar feel better. They always accommodate my schedule and get us in, which I could not appreciate more! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the vets are wonderful. It doesnt matter who we see because it is a small practice and both Dr. LaMorte and Dr. Plunkett are familiar with Cheddar and take fabulous care of him :)

Fairfield Vet Hospital is THE BEST place for dogs and cats when they need the loving care of professional people who know how to care for your "best friends". Our two Jack Russell Terriers have been going there for over 5 years and we all get the very best possible care. Dr. LaMorte & Dr. Plunkett are fantastic and the technicians that they have working there are very caring and loving to their patients. The gals at the front desk are friendly and courteous and always patient and kind. They know our two girls very well by now and my dogs absolutely love going to the vet. My little girl, Hurley starts barking the minute we pull onto Ruane Street, she knows where shes going and cant wait. Thats the kind of Veterinary Care you want for your animals. They truly are the best in the business.

They are not caring. One time they let my dog fall off the examining table. When she got sick recently, they misdiagnosed her and I had to pay another $350 to the ER who got it right. They wanted to keep her over night with IV fluids, yet they had no one to monitor her in a kennel-like environment with barking dogs where she could have chewn off the IV. Post surgery they gave me no instructions and just handed her to me, heavily medicated. Finally, when a vet advertises in coupon mailers for half off fees, you know they are bad news. These people are jaded just because they deal mostly with lower income folks. Avoid if you care about your animal. They cant keep a good vet, which also tells you something.

We have been customers of Fairfield Vet for more than 12 years. I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Plunkett, Dr. LaMorte and their staff (especially Cheryl). The facility is clean and conveniently located in downtown Fairfield. Their services are competitively priced. Most importantly, they are kind and compassionate. They have helped us maintain healthy pets and have aided us in putting to sleep 3 of our dogs over the years. Once Dr. Plunkett even made a house call because one of our dogs was terrified of the office and I didnt want it to be is last experience when put to sleep. I would highly recommend this Vet practice to anyone.

Our experiences with Fairfield Veterinary Hospital over many many years has been incredibly positive and we would highly recommend them to any pet owner. Their welcoming and professional...and compassionate approach to every aspect of care and communication has made us (and our cats) feel like family. From the office staff to Dr. Plunket and the other vets that have been a part of the practice over the years... their caring and best practices approach to all creates huge trust for us in all they do. We cannot thank they enough for their service and compassion over the years we have been pet owners. Chris and Patti Coyle

I just had to find a new vet, because my old vet of 30+ years retired. I got a few accolades from friends about Fairfield Veterniary Hospital. Their words were not enough to describe the wonderful feeling I got when I brought my puppy in. Both Dr. Plunkett and Dr. LaMorte came over and played with my dog while we were in the waiting room. It is clear that they truly love animals. Dr. LaMorte also was willing to spend as much time with me as needed. I am so happy to have found new vets that truly want the best for the animals that they treat.

I used another Vet in Fairfield for 25 years. When my cat became ill they would not see her since she had not been examined there for a few years (indoor cat). I ended up with a $1800 bill at the emergency clinic. They recommended Fairfield Veterninary Hospital where Pandora was treated by Dr. LaMorte. They took such care and she lived for at least six more months comfortably. When we had to put her down the support was incredible. I cannot say enough good things about the Vets and the Staff. They are fantastic!!

We have been going to Fairfield Veterinary Hospital for 8 years, and throughout the years they have cared for our dog, cat, bunny rabbit and guinea pigs. From the friendly staff at the front desk, to the warm, expert care given by Dr. Plunkett and Dr. LaMorte and their assistants, we have been extremely satisfied. Our dog and cat tend to get a little nervous, and they are treated with patience and kindness. We wouldnt go anywhere else.

This vet is amazing. I have referred friends there who have left their existing vets to switch to them. When we needed a break on exams for our pets, they were there for us. When we moved away from the area, we would still come back, and even found another person in our new neighborhood that knew them and also traveled forty miles to visit them. And when we moved back, it was like we never left. Cannot say enough.
