We have taken many animals to Dr. Wasfi over the past twenty years, including a male rottweiler and at least 7 cats from various family members. He truly cares about the animals, and is a wonderful, knowledgeable vet. He was able to save the life of a stray that we found with a badly damaged tail, and stopped the infection that had gone to her blood and removed the tail. She lived a happy life for the next 16 years. He also took care of the kittens she had (she became pregnant after surgery, but before we could take her in), as well as another cat who had cancerous tumors. Some of the other reviews mentioned that "no one cared" what the building looked like, yet there is a thriving, clean, and very large tropical fish tank in the waiting room. It is hard to maintain that well without caring. It is true that the building is older, and some of the fixtures a little dated, but I dont see how that matters to the cats and dogs. They arent interior design experts. If you are the type of animal parent who wants a flashy, remodeled, trendy vets office, and wants to pay a higher premium when those costs are passed along for your treatment, then you have your pick of vets in Fairfield. I dont see why any of that would matter. Also, if you are a person who expects care, but doesnt want to pay your vet bill, then this is probably also not the place for you. That is not a reflection on the office however. Dr. Wasfi provides you direct and evidence based answers for care, and my animals love him.

Im really unhappy with the fact that this place almost killed my dog and after they told me they will make the insurance claim they didnt. Heres the story..... My dog (pitbull mix) had ringworm with only a few patches visible. After taking my this vet he was given a new treatment (without me consent) that made his ringworm worse. My dog lost almost all his fur and the ringworm was now growing in his ears. After a month he was put on the traditional medication and his ringworm got better in less than 1 week (patches dried up and started healing). Long story short after spending almost $700 I was told the they will send the itemized bill to my pet insurance... after 1 month with no refund check i called V.I.P pet insurance to ask about the claim. I was told no claim was made. I then called Blackrock Animal Hospital and they told me "we sent it to the insurance yesterday." after another month of waiting, V.I.P pet insurance wrote to me that in order for me to receive my refund they need the itemized bill... I just called the Animal Hospital back and I was told to just "come and pick up the itemized bill yourself." If I could give a half star I would. Im really disappointed.

I have been bringing all of my pets to Dr Wasfi for more than 10 years. I was a little nervous at first because the place seems old and dark. This is because he does not rob his patients of money. I do not care about the cost when it comes to my pets, they are like family to all of us, but I dont want to be taken advantage of either. The true measure of this doctor is my animals reaction to him. They all loved him. That shows me they have been treated well whenever they are out of my sight. They are actually excited when we walk in there. Where else does that happen? The people on here that complain of this dark and old practice can go to Banfield. They have beautiful facilities. Fresh paint on the walls. A beautiful website. All the bells and whistles. They also killed over 700 dogs in 2014 across the country just on dental cleanings alone. They overmedicate and over treat everything to charge the customer more money. They over vaccinate like crazy knowing that it causes cancer to the animals. But at least they have fresh paint right? Dr Wasfi always receive my recommendation.

I just moved to the area and this animal hospital as just across the street. The first impression wasnt great. Absolutely NO windows anywhere! Neat, but gloomy and dank. The tech/receptionist was very, very nice. And thats where the good ends. I made an appointment for the next day. I went in with my cat and we were put in an exam room right away. The exam room was clean (I think), but very, very much in need of painting and fixing up. It looked terrible, like no one cared what the place looked like. I mean it was disgusting! I found the expired Vets license hanging on the wall to be just a bit disturbing. Listening to 2 male voices cursing in a nearby room didnt help my comfort level... and I mean some serious cursing. Im no prude, but I thought that was VERY unprofessional. I was shaking and almost in tears by the time I decided to pick up the carrier and not go through with the appointment. DO NOT take your pets to Black Rock Animal Hospital!! Gloomy & dank, in need of brightening, cleaning and painting, and unprofessional.

Dont go there , i went there because something was wrong with my dog who was only a month old and he told me nothing was wrong with him . I went the second time and he said the same thing . My dog wasnt getting any better so i went to westport animal hospital and found out my dog had a lung infection and he ended up dying and was fighting for his life the whole time ! Fighting trying to breathe !!! when he could of had a chance with this doctor if he would of really gave him a real exam ! Instead he made me pay the 60$ for an oral exam before checking him ! Scam !!! Im going to report this man every chance i get !

I take my two dogs here for shots . Very affordable . The doc has always charged me a fraction of what these other clinics charge and my dogs seem to pull through. My German Shepard ate gum and another hospital charged me 7gs for 2 days of treatment . After that I went to him and charged me 2 GS for 1 whole week of treatment and medecine. No complaints here. Doc been in the business for 30 years he knows his stuff. The place is not dark and gloomy to my its a animal clinic I dont know what people expect. I would treat my dog myself if I knew what I was doing

A minimum that I expect from a professional is a great introduction and respect. I am complete disappointed with this person ( if a can call him a person). He could not execute a conversation as a professional, he did even know exactly why I brought my dog to be examined. I never took my dog to such a dust place and to someone that is racist. You do not now a person based on their origins. I am sorry for the person that bring your loved animal to this place. If I had the power this person will be out of business.

Found a Dog hurt at the Bpt Animal Control and they brought her here to this vet for care. She had a hematoma on her ear. These people would not touch her because she is a pitbull. I was told by animal control that the vet ruled her vicious and was going to put her to sleep and that they couldnt get near her to fix her ear!!! I told them I would take her home! they then mysteriously were able to fix her ear and I took her home!!! HORRIBLE PLACE!!!!
