After a misdiagnosis by 2 other vets following two mini-seizure-like episodes, Dr. Neary properly diagnosed my borzoi Tala with inflammation throughout brain and spine. Post MRI the team at BVNS is now conducting further tests to understand the cause. The team at BVNS was helpful, compassionate, efficient and highly competent. I’m sure they see hundreds of patients every month, but they made Tala and me feel as if we were the most important clients in the world. They gave us comfort and hope during a very stressful time. Dr. Neary is extremely competent and knows his trade. He also has excellent bedside manners with the animals and the ability to communicate highly technical concepts in easy to understand people-speak. I won’t know Tala’s final diagnosis and prognosis until the other tests are completed. But in the meantime I know I have found the right vet for her and invested in the best care possible. As a dog Mama who takes parenting seriously, that’s a good place to be.

Very expensive, my dog had seizures, I decided to have the tests done to find out the reason, after 4800 I was told she had epilepsy and they were going to work with me to take care of her. After a month I needed tests for medication levels, 700.00. I was told that medication should help her between 6 to a year for the seizures. One month later she started the seizures again, they told me she needed to be hospitalized and it was going to cost around 700.00. I could not believe it! 700.00 a month? I told them I could not pay such amount of money, that was enough for them to stop being caring, even Dr. Neary did not want to talk to me anymore. Just told me go to your regular vet. After 5500.00, they didnt want anything to do with me, money talks with this group. So if you have the money you will get good treatment if you dont then you will disappear.

We visited BVNS and Dr. Neary after our lab, Piglet, injured his back playing frisbee. Dr. Neary quickly realized Piglet had a spinal injury and recommend an MRI — this revealed a ruptured disc and he was taken right into surgery. We came into BVNS nervous wrecks as we’ve never seen Piglet in so much pain, however, Dr. Neary quickly put our concerns at ease. His patient-first attitude backed with a confident and sensitive approach really made us comfortable and confident in Piglets full recovery. Dr. Neary and the whole BVNS team were wonderful -- Piglet was quickly back to his normal self! I would highly recommend Dr. Neary and his team to any pet owner!!

We had to take our lab, Remi to see Dr. Neary at Bush Veterinary due to a spinal injury and we cant say enough positive things about Dr. Neary and all of his hard work he put into helping Remington recover and finally get back to normal without any spinal issues. I would recommend anyone that is need of a neurological specialists to check out Bush Veterinary in Woodstock. Dr. Neary is extremely knowledgeable and will go above and beyond to make sure your pet is cared for properly.
