I brought my rat terrier Sir Ruffington in on Tuesday morning. This was after I found him wrapped in a fetal position in my bathroom on the floor covered in blood and urine. I thought he had passed. I couldnt believe it when I saw that he was still alive considering the amount of blood and the fact that he is only 12lbs. Banfield took him in right away and immediately started treatment. I remember sitting in the waiting area thinking I was going to be told that they had no other choice but to put him down. Im not an emotional guy, so when I say I started crying in a frenzy when I stepped outside, it goes to say that I thought this was the end. When I came back in Dr Duric came out to speak to me and told me she was going to start treating him ASAP and would call me in about an hour to update me. I waited at the IHOP across the street staring out the window and pounding coffee. Sure enough, I got a call about an hour later explaining the diagnosis and how they were going to treat him. He apparently had Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis and had lost almost 2lbs overnight. Dr Duric was amazing in explaining everything, including what was necessary and/or optional treatments that I could also add on. Through this whole time she and her staff were amazing. They were so caring. I remember smiling everytime they called him Sir Ruffington. Most people just him Ruffington. Two days later my Sir Ruffington came home to me his normal self. I write this as he lays in the bed with me doing 100x better. I honestly believe without a doubt that the care he received while in their care saved his life and I am forever grateful. Walking out of Banfield, I realized that every staff member in there deserves the biggest hug imaginable from me. Once again, thank you so much for allowing me the opportunity to have more time with my best friend Sir Ruffington. Thanks, Greg Darce

$5,000 or put him to sleep. That was the final ultimatum I received from Woodstocks Banfield Hospital. Let me explain. My dog ate chicken bones after getting into the garbage. It was the weekend so we went to Banfield since they were open and my normal vet was not. The first vet I saw, Jennifer Bell was wonderful and worked with me on treating my dog within my financial means. After several appointments, we thought he was going to be OK. Then my dogs skin turned yellow as his liver was shutting down. It was Dr. Bells day off and we saw another vet - Im sorry, I dont remember her name. She gave us the ultimatum to take our dog to a 24 hour care facility and warned us it would cost $5,000 or more to save him. Or, she said she could put him to sleep right then or the next morning (and we could pre-pay to avoid having to do it the next morning). We opted to take him home so the kids could say goodbye and by morning, I decided to get a second opinion. Well long story short, my regular vet saved him, he is happy and healthy again and it only cost under $800. That is a big difference and i didnt appreciate the Banfield vet trying to push putting him to sleep - did she have a sales quota to meet? The least she could of suggested was getting a second opinion - thank God I did as I have children and we were all crushed when we thought wed have to put him to sleep. I appreciate that Banfield is open on the weekends, their cost on the weekends is the same as during the week - but please, always get a second opinion if you are given an ultimatum like we were. There was a middle road to be taken and thank goodness we found it for ourselves.

Weve taken our pets to Banfield for a couple of years and the staff and Dr. Bell are awesome. We never have to wait, maybe once when they had an emergency. I have been to several vets in the area and spent thousands for various treatments, preventative or necessary, or who knows, always seemed to be something found during routine visits. My mother in-law recommended Banfield and getting my multiple pets on a plan that covers their routine care and teeth cleaning. Guess what? Suddenly every visit doesnt run into $$$$ and my pets are healthier than ever, even my elderly cat, a cancer survivor. Dr. Bell is very thorough, my pets love her and she follows up personally, even seeking advice from a specialist when something unusual pops up. I would recommend Banfield, Dr. Bell and the insurance plan, especially if you have multiple pets, special needs or elderly pets who need more care than a yearly checkup and shots. Even medications are reasonable. Bonus - my pets like to shop for treats after a visit so they almost look forward to going.

We took our 2 year old dog there on the weekend, because she was throwing up for 8+ hours. They told us the inital running of test to see what could be wrong would be around $400 plus IV. After the first set of tests, they found nothing wrong. so for $400 more they ran another series of tests, to find out it was Lime disease. they gave us the option of taking her to the 24 hour care, which would be thousandsof dollars, take her home with no solution, or put her down. It was not a good experience having to put your pet to sleep because there was nothing more they could do. Maybe the only good thing was we got a sympathy card. wouldnt suggest going to them for any emergency...

The vet was extremely unwelcoming and had no courtesy towards the dog. It was the worst experience Ive every l had at the vet. She did not seem to understand the concept of petting dogs and enjoying animals.during the duration of her evaluation she did not acknowledge the dog with a petting or anything all. Just yanked on his prong collar and was unfriendly towards his sore. Very disappointed

Worst ever experience- Woodstock GA vet was very mean to our dog. Johns Ferry Rd, Marietta, except for chief vet, were all terrible. Nearly killed our dog with horrible medications. She got kennel cough from their dirty offices.

We had a wonderful experience today. Brought in our 4 week old kitten for her first exam and everyone was just so absolutely wonderful. So glad we decided to trust in them for the care of our baby girl

Wonderful experience today! Dr. Duric was not only polite and professional but detailed in the explanation of allergy treatment for our canine son Polo. She is a keeper in our Banfield contacts.
