Been there 6 times through the years the most recent was a completely corrupt experience. Ten thousand dollars for 36 hours of hell on earth. Neeta Garg is a criminal who forced me to stay and pumped me with opiates and oxygen. The oxygen was for 18 hours in a row when my daughter asked why they took it off and said it was a mistake. I kept asking to get released because there was nothing wrong with me but they forced a battery of tests. Finally 3 days later they pronounced me Back to baseline even though I was fine going in. The staff and doc were Incompetent and ruined my life. They only care about charging 10 thousand dollars in a bill they got right out to me. When asked about the process the Doctor denied having anything to do with the terrible diagnosis. She has lied repeatedly and deceitfull in the report causing a diagnosis completely wrong refusing to check or ask about the facts. Arrogant doctor and the staff that cant shoot straight. Every visit to the Umass Emergency Center now the Duddy Center.is a living hell. I begged not to be sent to this hell hole and to leave me in the gutter. Instead they have ruined my life and dont give ashit about health and ethics. They hire foreign Docs and pay them low to churn money from tests. Hospitalists are trained to keep your pcp out and hacks like Garg to pick your pocket and bilk your insurance with MRIs X-rays Blood Tests etc. I asked not to go and constantly requested not to stay. They forced me to stay , drugged me and gave 18 hours of oxygen with no prescription burning my throat. When asked why my oxygen burned throat hurt so bad Garg said that they must have done a procedure to cause it when it was her staff.

I came to UMASS Hospital after spending Saturday morning of Labor Day weekend in the ER at Leominster Hospital where blood tests "indicated I had a blood clot" so they gave me a shot of blood thinner and discharged me because they didnt have anyone who could do an ultrasound and I would have to call Sunday morning to schedule an ultrasound. They treated the"blood clot but not the cellulitis that I went there for. They were very nice but didnt have the resources UMASS has. I called UMASS ER and spoke with a triage nurse. They had someone who does ultrasounds on call because it is a holiday weekend. So I drove right down. Was seen in an hour and they had called in the ultrasound person because I was coming down right away. It was determined that there is no blood clot and they treated my cellulitis and admitted me because I needed IV antibiotics and they needed to make sure the cellulitis didnt reach my replaced knee. I spent a long time in the ER by the nurses station before I got into a room. But they got me dinner on a tray and set me up with the IV antibiotics that the Dr who took care of me ordered and I did not have even one complaint. They were swamped with people who needed help and they were all working hard to take care of everyones needs. Couldnt ask for more! Its Monday and they will reevaluate my leg and see if I can go home today or if I need to stay and have more IV antibiotics. This is still Labor Day weekend and the nurses, doctors, pcas and the entire staff are working very hard.to help all of the patients. It is a very good place to be if you need medical care. Special thanks go to the excellent Nursing staff, both in the ER and on the floor after I was admitted.

Brought my wife to this place as she was experiencing excruciating abdominal pain but left with a worst headache. Actually, first took wife to Carewell urgent care in North borough (bad experience there as well with the wait and nurses attitude). Anyways, we arrived at UMass emergency room around 4:30PM and completed some paper work then the receptionists told us to wait for our turn. After 2 hours waiting (6:30 PM) we finally get called and then there is more waiting in the treatment room. All this waiting while my wife was still going thru such tremendous pain and no treatment whatsoever. Finally, Doctor shows up after another 30 minutes or so and asks for some blood testing to be done and gives Tylenol extra strength tablets for the pain relief. Two nurses poked 5 times into my wifes arms to collect blood sample but were unsuccessful in all attempts, eventually another male nurse gets the job done in one attempt but all this poking around left my wife with additional pain. Test results come out after another hour and we finally leave at 9 PM. My overall experience with the emergency visit was horrible mostly because of the wait time and I hope I never have to visit this emergency facility again.

I experienced the other end and now understand. Our baby at the age of 2 was having high fevers in March 2015. He spiked fevers higher than 102 every night for 3 weeks. The fevers escalated to 104 and then 105. Our poor child was having diarrhea, dehydrated, and losing weight. I felt impotent. We watched him suffer. If anyone has a child and loves them, will understand the pain parents go through. It was at this point we brought our son to UMASS childrens medical center at 3 am. They admitted him and treated him with love. They also treated us because as parents we were distressed and helpless. I was humbled by seeing my baby so sick, yet everything I did at home for him was useless ( Amox, Azithro, Doxy, Prednisolone, Nebulizers, Augmentin, Zofran, Allegra, Tylenol, Motrin, Singulair) ..it didnt matter, because he continued suffering. I am forever indebted to the Pediatric Attendings, RNs, residents and team there, especially Dr. Tyrrell and Dr. Hermos. They were great!

U mass used to be awesome. Now , In my experience they withhold important medical info. My stress test showed abnormal (PVCs) they said everything was great ,my doctor told me nothing. I had slightly abnormal kidney function and was never told. saw it on the portal. I needed meds for serious PVCs. the doctor told me to take meds if I want to. I say take meds if I want to live. Some doctors there balance bill. they ask for money than approved by insurance. This is illegal. One doctors office has sent my balance bill to collection. The U mass police hassled me. 3 officers , one yelling at me , one followed me to an exam room. My crime, giving back talk to a girl at the information desk , crumpling a piece of paper and throwing it on the ground. the girl called the goons on me. This is all true and can back it up.

I have waited 2 1/2 to get called in. Then when I got to my room waited another 1hr for a doctor to check me. When check he was on point and said I had blood done and everything else done quick. Put never had the MRI requested and waited for Neurologist to come. 2 1/2 hr waited for Neurologist to show up to do same test again and say I am staying and No one still request for MRI. Today 10 am and still waiting for MRI to get me for test to see why I have no feeling on left side and cant hardly walk. I should have went to another hospital. How you can keep a person in the hospital without knowing what is her diagnosis and have her stay 2 days in the hospital just to have a MRI done. To charge the medicaid. Then they talk about the people and dont see what or Hospitals are doing to Patients and the Health care Insurance. WOW!
